My father-in-law was at Russell Residence for respite care. I liked that it was like a small family. That was nice. They have meals catered and my father-in-law enjoyed the food. He was the only male there, but he still had a nice time with the ladies that were there. It was easy to pay for it. They send an invoice and you can just go online and pay through the credit card. I don't think there was anything that I didn't care about. Everything seemed fine. He had his bed in his room, a dresser, and a chair. There were several bathrooms in the home, too. The staff was very pleasant, especially when he came back the second time. They had already known him. It was like seeing his old friends again. They seemed very caring and involved in the people that were there. Never did I just see them leaving the people in one room and not paying them any mind. They were very attentive to the residents. They were playing bingo one time when I was there. It's a nice-sized home. It felt more like you won't get lost. I feel like in this place, he couldn't just sit in his room all day by himself and not do anything. The dining room had a large table and chairs off from the kitchen.

I toured Russell Residence two weeks ago. It was a home-style atmosphere. The staff who gave the tour was very compassionate and friendly. The apartments were very clean, airy, and open. For activities, they had to come together and fellowshipping with one another.

I went to Russell Residence. It was good. I think my biggest takeaway was the fact that there was a lot of support. There were like three nurses there when I went to visit, I met the owner there. The owner doesn't live there and I like the fact that the owner created the space with her own parents in mind. I think one of the parents is suffering from dementia. So eventually she'll need a place where she'll be taken care of. And I like that story. It didn't feel like an assisted living or nursing home. It's like a private home with lots of places to sit. There were different activities. You could go outside and just sit on the porch, and it felt like someone's house. Everyone was friendly, and I got a sense of a nurturing environment. The only reason why I didn't put my grandmother in there right away is money. They're very expensive but you can tell why they're so expensive. There are so many things that they do. They have an indoor pool where they do aquatic aerobics. They do three square meals plus a snack every day. It's a large, eight-bedroom, and it's not as expensive as it could be, but it was still a little bit too pricey for me. It's beautiful, beautiful ground, but I think they're in the process of renovation. They're trying to repaint things.

The staff at Russell Residence was very friendly. We spoke with the owner. She was very passionate about running a good home there. There was a lot of effort that was put in to ensure that it was comfortable for the residents. I think they had probably more room available for private rooms versus doubling up. There were renovations that they had started. The residents seemed to be pleased with the rooms that they were in, especially the private ones. What I didn't like was it was on two levels with stairs. They had one of those chair lifts in place, but I still didn't like that. It kind of gave me an impression that sometimes folks weren't able to totally interact with each other because of those that may have difficulty climbing stairs or whatever. It's not against the owner. It's just the way the house was designed. The owner was very pleasant. She followed up, and she was very accommodating and informative. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, other than just passing them.

We chose Russell Residence for respite care. The staff was definitely genuine and caring, and made a connection with my mother while we were there. We did appreciate that definitely. It's nice. It's someplace that Mom could enjoy if I have to do something or if I have to go away. That's definitely a peace of mind for me while enjoying my vacation. You felt welcome right from the front door from the staff member who opened the door for us. She definitely was welcoming and very professional. They were in the process of doing some upgrades. They have an outside seating area and a recreational area in the back. They're actually in the process of putting in a pool, but Mom's not going to be there long enough for that. They definitely had a lot of things that they do daily.

I went to Russell Residence. It had a lot of rooms. I thought it was laid out nice. It was a nice place from what I could see. The rooms don't have any kitchenettes or anything like that. They cook for them. The facility had just one kitchen. There are staff members staying there all the time. I met two of the staff and they seemed very pleasant and very nice. They do some exercises with everybody. They have a pool in the back, but it's not workable right now. Suzy (the owner) is working on that to get that going for some therapy in the pool. She was very informative. She gave me the list of food that they serve people to give me an idea of what they do for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She was a very nice lady. They have their own podiatrist that comes in that checks their feet and will cut their nails and stuff like that. I think they also have a physician that comes to the house that will do different things, so that's very convenient. I didn't look outside that much, but there was a little patio on the left-hand side. The place looked very clean.

I toured Russell Residence. The dining area was a just dining room with chairs around it. The facility could use a little bit more cleanliness. The furniture that the residents would sit in was kind of very worn and not the cleanest. The community was great. It felt like you were driving up to a home in a community. It didn't have a facility look, so that was good about it. But at the same time, it wasn't the cleanliness that I expect it. I didn't put my mom there because it wasn't a place where I wanted my mom to be. I was greeted by someone who was not happy that I showed up early. They called the woman who I was supposed to meet with, and the woman came and met with me. She was nice, the woman who gave me the tour. But it's like the people there were almost told not to answer any questions. The staff needs improvement. If you work in a facility like this, you should enjoy what you're doing.

Russell Residence is nice and has a home setting. It's close to my home and is in a residential neighborhood. My aunt seems to like it, so far. She's not with a lot of other patients, it is a nice size, and the number of patients they have here is good. They take care of the patients better because they have more one-on-one time with them. She just had a stroke so she's paralyzed and now in their assisted living. The staff is nice, friendly, hands-on, and informative. Right now, her doctor has her on a liquid diet, so her food had to be pureed. It's a home setting so it's just like you're in your own home. It doesn't make you feel like you are in a facility. We know they have an indoor pool for therapy, but they're not using it now because of COVID. When I say it's a residential community, it's not a residential senior community but a home that's within a residential area where people don't need assistance. She hasn't done any activity because she just got there but they do have activities. I know they have games and movie nights. I wish it was a little cheaper but I can't put a price on what they do. The facility looks nice and clean. The landscaping and everything look nice.

My husband approved of the Russell Residence facility. It was just the distance that was a problem for him; everything else was good. He was impressed with the facility. They cover both assisted living and memory care. They told me they were a level three so I believe they can handle all levels. Overall, I would rate them based on the information, cleanliness, professionalism, care, and all of the things that we learned. From my visit, I saw attentiveness and good construction. They had a nice outdoor seating area, they had a physical ramp for people who have disabilities with walking, and they have ample parking. They have good spaced rooms with good bedding, from what I saw.

My mother was a resident here for several years, and we were very pleased with the quality of care and services. The facility was always cleaned and fresh smelling. The charge was comparable to other senior care facilities in the area. I highly recommend this business.

We moved my mother to Russell Residence which is a highly recommended place. The nursing staff is very professional and caring, and the ratio of nurses to a patient is higher than most facilities being 1:4 or higher. They customize the care for the patients' needs like if the patient needs to be turned in every 30 minutes they do that. You don't see that in a lot of the facilities. It's very clean, very much updated, and the rooms almost look like the residents are in a home and not a hospital environment. There are pictures and flowers so the residents feel more at home than at a facility while providing a high level of care. I like the way they prepare the meals; I saw how the food was given to my mother and I got the chance to feed her. She needs a special diet and they did very well in terms of that.

The people at The Russell Residence are very caring. It's a private home setting, and everyone there treats my mother like she's one of the family. They're very welcoming. You can visit any time. She's very happy there. They've only been open for six months, so they will eventually have a room for physical therapy and speech therapy. They have exercises and an outdoor and an indoor pool that they'll be using for aqua therapy. It's top notch. I didn't know I could find any place like that; it's just like home. I like the atmosphere and the care, and my mom has gotten much more engaged in even just everyday conversation. She loves it. She has dementia but said it's so clean and quiet, everyone is so wonderful, and the food is delicious. Some residents can do less than she can handle and some can do more, so they tailor activities for the people based on what they're capable of. She's still ambulatory, and they make sure she walks with a walker.
