A person who takes action when the staff does not

I visited this facility

Spent 4 hours there with loved one . Staff does not come in to check to see if the patients are clean or dry. Sheets blankets double pads adult diaper had extra pad put in ALL were soaked in urine and feces. Two pad under patient where soaked in urine. At 4:00 pm lunch still sitting in front of patient with the cover on it. Patient unable to feed them self or speak for help. No staff and no care for patients that was observed while I was there. Short staff is a joke more like no staff no care for patient. Patients in a lockdown ward with no voice or help to be seen anywhere.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Relative left with infected bedsores, infected surgical area. Did not contact surgeon or hospital until after wound became septic. Do not put your loved ones here ! No communication and extremely understaffed.

Please find another place for your loved ones. Staff is horrible . My mother was mistreated and left in soiled adult briefs for hours . I walked in one day with my mother left in the bed with no shirt on. Whoever was bathing her, left her . She had a stroke and was 100 percent dependent on care.if I wasn’t there to have someone get her out of bed, she would have been left in her bed for the day. Please don’t take your loved on here. Communication is horrible from the staff . You walk in the front door and the odor is overwhelming because of residents left in there soiled briefs

I visited this facility

My sister has been in there for 3 weeks after open heart surgery and she is hearing impaired and should get out in a week. She has been giving very good care.I would say that most of the staff does an outstanding job no mater where you go there is always 1 or 2 that are not happy. I am 74 yrs old so I have visit with a few family members and friends in different nursing homes thru out the state and I would rate this as one of the best. Thank you John Cox

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was there rehabbing from a stroke. She was 100 percent dependent on the staff to care for her. I was there everyday and I saw such horrible things happening. They had on numerous occasions 1 nurse and 1 tech taking care of 32 patients. Unforgivable. My mom was soiled and soaked when I got there in the am. We had to wait and wait until the tech finally got to her to change her and hoyered her into her wheelchair. I would strip the bed and change the sheets myself otherwise they would just throw the blanket over the sheets. The place is filthy and the staff are overworked because of not enough help. The head nurse had horrible communication skills . Please find another place for your loved one. It broke my heart to see everything that was going on there with our elders. Sad

I visited this facility

I am very sad to see the problems people had at this nursing home. I do see that most of them are several years old. I know that there was a comprehensive shake up in administration two years ago because it was going on as my 86 year old mother with Alzheimers was being admitted for rehab . I saw the reviews and was nervous but had choice at the time. I am glad to say that the care she receives in the memory care area is PHENOMENAL. I was so pleased that she is now a permanent resident there and has improved greatly (physically and socially) due to both the medical and skilled care she receives. She is on a very challenging diet and they adhere to it strictly. Her caretakers care for her as if she were their own loved one. I cannot say enough positive words about our experience there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Staff was non-responsive to requests or needs of my husband. Nourishment left at bedside (patient blind) and in spite of family support 8-12 hours a day, my husband became dehydrated and required re-hospitalization. Wound care not completed. Left with vomit and other body fluids sitting in chair for extended period. Frequent response from staff was "We are use to families and patients being dissatisfied. We are always understaffed." Very disappointing since recommendation for care had come from Case Manager at Atlantic General.

A friend of one in need of help.

The care here is unforgivable. My friend needs her food pureed to eat-that has only happened one time; other times her daughters bring in food so she doesn't starve. The staff does not feed her, they do not change her. Once they walked out and just left her lying there in the nude. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. It is depressing and totally unsympathetic to needs of the elderly.

I am a friend or relative of resident

This is a horrible place! I have a relative that unfortunately has to be there because no one else has the ability to care for them. There are a lot of times that their Depends are full and have soaked through their clothes and the staff is supposed to check them every 3 hours. There are residents there who have soiled themselves and the staff takes forever to change them and when they do they don't clean them properly. I've been there during dinner time and there are several residents that can't feed themselves but the staff just sets the food in front of them and when they come back around to pick up their trays they say "oh, I guess you weren't hungry". My relatives things are always missing from their room. My relative has fallen several times while in their care resulting in broken bones. We have complained several times and they do nothing. We don't want our relative there anymore!

I visited this facility

This is really the only nursing home I have ever visited, so I have nothing with which to compare it. I felt that everyone who worked there was very friendly and positive in their attitudes, and they treated visitors and residents very well. My grandmother seemed happy there. They let her sit outside in a covered entrance area with other residents when it was nice out, if she wanted to, and the residents sitting out there together all seemed to have a nice rapport. The smells in the building were not always all that pleasant, but I suppose many nursing homes struggle with keeping down the smells. Everything did appear to be clean. They seemed to have nice activities for the residents. The dining hall was very attractive. I enjoyed visiting there and sometimes thought that it was the type of place that I would like to be if I were in her condition when I am old. She missed home, but since no one was really able to take care of her at home, this was the next best option. I know that the financial people worked closely with my mother to help arrange her finances so that she could afford it. We were all quite happy that she had such a nice place to be, close to where we could all go and see her. The whole surrounding area also seemed very safe, and there was a rural feel to the town that made it seem nice and calm when she was sitting outside.
