My mother is in Seaside Skilled Rehabilitation Center. The facility is good. It's in good shape, and it's clean. The people there look clean. The food is good. The staff is good, and the activities are good. My mother likes the place, which is saying something because of the way she is. The staff is awesome. The people that are there were good. Like most places right now, they don't have enough of them all the time. Regardless, they're good. The food looked pretty good to me. Their amenities include a hairdresser and a gym. They have an atrium where they play activities in, and they have function rooms. Most of the facility is one story with six or seven different wings. The landscape is good. Her room is beautiful. She has a window looking out the back. They're not the cheapest, but they're not the most expensive.

This is the fourth time I've been at Seaside. This time I am here for nursing home care since I injured my cervical spine in a fall 3 1/2 years ago. I have received great care here. The physical therapy department is topnotch, the nurses are professional, and transportation is provided to all my appointments. Due to COVID, the facility is short-staffed, but the CNA's have worked long and busy hours to meet our needs, and they have done so admirably. I love my room and the friends I have made here, and I'm happy to be here.

Physical therapy and occupational therapy excellent. Staff physician and PA extremely helpful. Facility clean. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nursing staff and CNA staff very unorganized. Patients records are not updated with current information. Nursing and CNA’s do not always review patient records. Never consistent CNA and nursing staff. These factors resulted in confusion regarding current medical needs and left the me, as the patient, confused and then neglecting my needed care. Food is below par. Social service very uncaring in her approach with me as a patient.

My mother moved into Seaside Rehab & Health Care a month ago. I think theyre doing what theyre supposed to do. Her room seems OK. Shes diabetic, and her food is quite bland. However, her health is failing, and theres someone from hospice who comes in occasionally. I guess shes taken care of OK, but she says otherwise. Theres a TV in her room, and I know they have activities because I saw them doing exercises.

I am a resident at this facility and when I first got here my room had not been deep cleaned at all the bed had not been changed out . There were dirty linens in the bed. It took then all day to attend to the matter. Most of the staff here dont know which way areis left or right. it takes them forever to do anything. they spend more time chit chatting on their phones and sitting around and complaining about their personal lives then taking care of patients. most residents enjoy the activities like bingo and tv time or movie night. They offer snacks coffee tea juices smoking areas outside . The only good thing about this place are the residents in it. this place is a joke

I have been a nurse for 38 years, and found myself a post operative lumbar spinal fusion with a husband not well enough to care for me. I requested a rehabilitation center near my home in Portland. Seaside was the center closest. I was there twelve days, and the only thing I can find to complain about was the food. EVERY person involved in my care was OUTSTANDING! From the RN's to the cleaning staff... every single person, every single day, evening, and night. I was treated with respect, dignity and kindness by everyone I met. The nurses and CNA's are very dedicated, often working extra hours and shifts. In my experience, people don't have that kind of work ethic unless they love their jobs! I can't thank the people there enough for their excellence in my care.

i spent only 8 mos here and was never taken outside after asking many times. Staff left me in a wet bed. Therapy was discontinued so I became astrophied to the point that I am unable to walk 16 years later. I was walking when I went into the facility. Do not consider putting your loved one here.

My grandfather lives at Baxter Place in Portland, Maine, a long term assisted living unit. One good thing about Baxter is there are less than 25 residents at all times. On the other hand, although they have a staff that includes physicians, RNs, CNAs, medicine technicians, social workers, etc it does seem that no matter when my grandfather pulls a call button for assistance in his room or bathroom, it takes an abnormally long amount of time for someone to arrive. They claim that they are short staffed, while they never appear to be, on a daily basis. In general I find the facilities to be standard but they seem to meet the needs of most residents. They include an outdoor patio and walking area, beauty salon, library, fish pond and a social dining setting. The food gets many complaints but I have not personally tried it. The patient rooms and facility in general seem fairly clean most of the time however it seems laundry goes to be washed and doesn't come back a lot. If I were to rate on a scale of 1-10, I'd have to give Baxter a 5.
