WE looked at a numer of facilities before selecting this home. Found the hime well cared for and very adequate for our needs. Have had several meals and call the food top notch. I was served very tasty meals that were well balanced and adequate portions. Most of the residents at the table sent the plate back with food on it because they were satisfied. With soup salad a main course and desert the nutrition level is there to maintain good health. There are additional food items in a cooler for between meals. Ken

Holiday Woods at Canco had a lot of activities. They had a nice dining room. The facility was very clean, but as far as how things are run, I have no way of knowing because my brother didn't stay here. It seemed like a nice facility. The staff was very nice, but as far as how they would have cared for him, I have no way of knowing. He is in a wheelchair and he's mentally disabled. They didn't have that level of care and that's why we didn't end up going with them.

I toured Holiday Woods at Canco. The large building was very nice. The one problem was they had kitchenettes, and I really needed a full kitchen. So when the staff heard that, she took us down to their cottages, which I loved. The cottages were exactly what I'm looking for. The problem was the price. I can't afford the monthly cost for the cottage, but that's the type of place I'm definitely looking for, because they have large rooms, lots of closets, full kitchens, and they're ground floor (because I have trouble going upstairs). It was absolutely perfect. The community was well kept. The sales manager who took us around was absolutely fantastic. She answered all my questions. She was really good. I also saw the dining area, which looked clean. They were actually having lunch when I was there. The outdoor spaces were well taken care of. They're mowed and they looked good. There were no problems there.

We toured Holiday Woods at Canco. It was a quick visit, and I would have liked more time. They had nice rooms and a nice gym. The grounds were very pretty. The staff who gave the tour was very informative and very nice. The facility looked very nice, open, and very nicely lit. We chose them because they're a little bit of a younger crowd.

I'm now at Holiday the Woods at Canco. So far, it has been very pleasant. The one concern I have is that I wish there was some sort of an orientation for new residents. I have so many questions about minor things, like can you light candles in your apartment? I have simple little questions that I wasn't told when I came in. I have no complaints, but I would like to have some help, like how do I hang up the curtains and how do I get the curtain rods up? It's just the basics that they don't really tell you. There's no manual of rules and regulations, so any sort of orientation of where things are, what do I do with my trash, and what do I do with my recycling? Just simple things like that. But other than that, everybody is very pleasant. I just hate to keep bothering someone at the front desk with my silly questions, that's all. I've only been here three days, so I'm still getting settled. I haven't joined in any activities, although I know they have a book club, music, and bingo. They have various things, I just haven't had the time yet to get involved. But the activities director has been here for quite a while, and she seems very nice. I have a really nice two-bedroom. In fact, right now I'm sitting on my porch, which is huge. And I'm in the back, so I'm looking into trees, I'm not looking down on onto a parking lot. It's lovely. I haven't brought my dog here yet, but they are very pet friendly, and so I'm looking forward to bringing him here next week. I have two bedrooms, and a kitchenette, which is very small and a little difficult. There isn't a room on the counter to have more than one appliance. You either have a microwave or a toaster oven. Other things are going to have to be in a cupboard or whatever. It's a corner apartment, so I have lots of windows and it's very bright and shiny. With regards to food, I'm not crazy about the meals, but it's OK. I've only eaten three or four meals. They don't really have a chef, they just have cooks or meals brought in or whatever, but it's substantial.

Holiday The Woods at Canco was a very nice facility. They had places you could walk. There were residents playing cards. They had some group activities like crafts. They had movie nights and stuff, but they didn't seem to go out much. I saw a one-bedroom and it was a good layout. They have plenty of closet space and plenty of space for things and you could bring in your own furniture if you wanted to.

The people at Holiday The Woods at Canco were lovely. It was an open concept. It was clean. It was a little dated and needed an upgrade, but they said that they were starting to replace carpeting with hardwood floors. We were surprised at how small the apartments were, but I think we found that every place we looked at had smaller apartments.

I will be moving into Holiday The Woods at Canco. Kathy, the staff who works there, is wonderful. The place is also wonderful. They had me for lunch, and the food was good. My room is beautiful. They said they are going to renovate the place this year. The dining area was nice. The people were very nice. I guess during the summer, they have a lot of flowers in the garden. They also grow things in the garden. They had someone singing when I went there.

I went to Holiday The Woods at Canco. They're going through a management transition and that was a little bit hard to understand what was going to be in the future. It was a little bit unorganized, in a way, management team, but I think, for the most part, they were excellent. The people with Atria, the company that has it now, I know they're trying to improve from the past management. And so I think they were doing a great job. Their prices were out of my budget, and that was the only thing that steered me away. The apartments were fine, really nice. I saw a one-bedroom and studio. I saw them eating lunch, but I did not have a meal. It was clean. They're kind of revamping a little place where they do exercise. So it was kind of undone, but only because they were trying to work on that. They did have a salon and they're thinking of bringing someone to play the piano, and stuff like that. So I thought that was nice. Parking was plentiful, the outdoor grounds were nice, very woody, and it was very nice.

I toured Holiday The Woods at Canco. The general appearance was great. I was told that the residents really take care of each other, and there's a lot of great activities. It seems like a very, very good place. They have a trivia night. They have their own library. They have movie nights, and they have an area where they play pool. They have a lot of activities outside, too. It's very active there. I was able to go into three rooms. I saw a one-bedroom apartment. It had a living room, a kitchen area, a bedroom, and two bathrooms. I saw a two-bedroom apartment, which was kind of the same layout. I also saw one of the best rooms they had. It had a full kitchen, and it had a full stove. There was a lot of space in the living room. It had two bedrooms. Some of them have a deck space to go outside, and you can sit in the sun (if you like). The staff was very friendly, very informative, and very thorough in showing me and telling me about all the things that they offer. The community is very clean. The outside is very neat and taken care of. There is plenty of wide space in the hallways and in the dining area, so I think it's a very, very great spot.

I toured Holiday The Woods at Canco and it was a good place, and the people were nice. However, it wasn't conveniently located the way I hoped it would be. To me, it was too busy. I also did not like the rooms. I saw two rooms. One was a studio on the third floor, and the other was a one-bedroom on the first. It didn't seem comfortable. The outside was nice, but I didn't like the balcony on the third floor because it was too small, and the ground floor balcony was just an overhang. They told me they have hikes and there's birding enthusiasts like me. They have activities like cards, piano, and a great exercise room. The amenities that I found were good, but the setting wasn't good for me. It seemed difficult to get to Portland. To me, there was too much traffic around the place for my taste. But the facility itself was good and the people were wonderful to me. I saw the food and it looked great.

We went to The Woods at Canco. The tour was good, but it's just that they're not working with me. The problem I'm running into is that Patriot Angels won't pay for anything until my parents move into the place. I don't have the money for a down payment to get them into the place. The woods at Canco is not working with me. The facility is very nice, and I think they'll fit right in. I've sent emails, and nobody has got back to me. I've done that for the last or maybe two and a half months or three months, and I have got nothing. It's beautiful. They keep it very clean.

My friend has made some good friends while living in The Woods at Canco. The building and the grounds are well-kept. I like most of the staff. They're doing their best. The activity girl does quite a few things. They have chair dancing exercises, walks, and things like that. So, the activities are pretty good. He has a nice apartment, too. They just need to hire a chef, get more staff, and improve the meal quality. He used to get three chef-prepared meals daily, but now the kitchen is closed in the evening and they only get a sandwich. That's because they're short-staffed. They also keep going up on his rent every year and the services keep going down.

My brother has moved into The Woods at Canco. It has only been eight days, but the staff and everybody that was there was very warm and welcoming. He enjoys it very much, which is most important to me because I wanted to make sure he is safe and comfortable. I feel that way. The meals are included. The food was good. They have different chefs that work there. They're not cooks, but they are chefs. The waitstaff are very caring and understanding. They have several options. The thing that I like best about it is that you have to eat in the dining hall. They will not let you eat in your room unless, you're ill. They make sure that you're mingling, and they make sure that you're still having that social, which is really important. They celebrate any and every calendar holiday you could imagine. They decorate right down from National Pizza Day, which was last Wednesday. I didn't even know it existed. They celebrate Valentine's Day, and all the popular holidays that we all know. They include you every hour on the hour in doing the activity. They change it up. They toned it out so that, if for some instant you forgot what time it was, you would hear it in your room. It's toned out to you so you can actually hear it, like bingo is 1:30. They'll toned it out 10 minutes before. They do walks. They do all kinds of inside and outside activities; but right now, of course, outside is pretty tough. Just to give an idea of their activities: we went in to fill out the paperwork and do a tour, and they took my brother and did all the activities. He was gone for five hours just doing activity after activity. They keep you very busy, which is great. It's not mandatory that you do them, but they encourage it very much. If they don't see you, they just go knock on your door and make sure you're OK and you're safe. They make sure there's nothing else that they could do to make your stay there more comfortable. It was really neat.

We toured The Woods at Canco. I like the environment. The people were very, very informative, and they were courteous. It's got a lot of nice things. The rooms are nice. My wife did not feel scared of COVID. It's a clean atmosphere and comfortable. The staff was informative and had a lot of knowledge. It's very clean. She used a walker, and it was so easy to get through the hallways.

The Woods at Canco seems to be an appropriate place for what my sister-in-law would be looking for, as far as age-wise, the availability of the services, and the quality of the facility that we were able to see. We looked at several of the one-bedroom apartments and they all looked in very good condition, well maintained, spacious enough for what her needs would be, and all seemed to be in a good location within the building itself. The staff member I talked to was very helpful and very knowledgeable too. She had a well-prepared agenda of apartments to show us, including the pricing, the available services, and the details of the rent agreement. So, we gained quite a bit of knowledge about that. The dining area looked well-kept, spacious, and very pleasant. We saw a brief gathering of folks that were on their way to play an afternoon session of bingo and people that were sitting outside in the sunshine visiting and reading the newspapers.

I took a tour of The Woods at Canco. I think the overall presentation of the location was very good, convenient for those who still drive, and certainly convenient for those who need other types of transportation. Transportations are very efficiently arranged for grocery shopping trips and excursions. The person who gave me the tour, Laura; who's currently the assistant manager, was very good at giving me the tour. I saw two units that were both studios, both in a different state of readiness for a move-in. What I noticed is the 1-bedroom and the studio did not have a stove oven. They have an apartment-sized refrigerator, and they said you can have a hot plate, an instant crock pot, a toaster, a microwave, or whatever would logically fit in there. They're very roomy for a studio, and it was very nice to have your own outdoor space, both happened to be on the second floor, so each one has a balcony. I then saw a 1-bedroom, and that was the larger one. It has nice adequate closet space for both the studio and the 1-bedroom. There was a laundry facility, and all linens can be washed on-site by the staff if the resident would prefer that. The thing for me is a big chunk of that price is for the provision of meals, even though meals can be take-away up to your actual apartment. There is an accommodation for special diets, and I guess I am what you call a pescatarian, because I do fish as well as vegan type cuisines, so there's not a whole lot of variety for that. I looked at the menu, and certainly was offered a meal to test run the food, but I didn't opt for that. The menu was sufficient for me because I've been in the foodservice business in the past, and I'm familiar with that, so overall the impression was good. There was no option to defer meals or to defer the dining experience. The staff who greeted me and took me on the tour was very accommodating and very efficient, it was a very positive experience. I discussed details that they didn't have accommodations for special diets. It was made very clear that this was not a medical type of facility, and it is independent, so if people have conditions, if they're a diabetic, or they should be on a low sodium diet, it's up to them to do their own, or make their own decisions based on menus.

My client has moved into Woods at Canco, and I've been very impressed by it. It is expensive. They don't reduce their rates; you got to be able to afford it on your own. I have no problems with them, and I think they do wonderful care. It's clean. It's very modern, and there's lots of help. I've eaten there a couple times, and the food is not that bad. They're wonderful. We've never had a problem in any way, shape or manner. They are there. They are fast and accurate. They are very friendly, and I've never had complaints. I'm impressed that there's a large selection of food for them, so they're not stuck with just the same thing. Everybody doesn't eat the same thing. They can order whatever they want, and there's probably at least three or four different things to choose from at every meal. Anything I've ever had was excellent. I thought it was quite good. It's always clean. It's always being freshly painted, and I have no complaints, I'm very impressed with the place. I think there's a large variety of activities going on. They play cards and games. There are exercises going on. She could be busy every hour on the hour, if that's what she wanted to do. There's a large selection of activities and I think they meet everybody's needs. There's walking. They have tours, and they take them to plays. She has her own balcony. It's a much larger apartment for less money. The place has gardens, and lots of beautiful views of woods and birds.

We went to The Woods at Canco. I think it was good, and we got a good view of it. We visited a 2-bedroom apartment, and I thought it was adequate. The dining area was alright. We talked to a few residents, and it was positive. The staff who toured us was very helpful and seemed to be interested in helping us. The facilities looked well maintained, and the room they showed us looked clean.

We went to The Woods at Canco. It was a very good experience. They seem to provide everything we need. It seems to be a nice atmosphere. The staff members were very helpful with our questions. It's just the cost because my sister-in-law doesn't have the income to cover it. The staff was very good. They followed up trying to help us as best as they could.

We went to The Woods at Canco. The person was very, very good. The first thing that hit me there was no kitchen. I go like, "Oh really?" That little counter space and sink here did not exactly hit me well. The people that we saw seemed to be pleasant and satisfied. The staff was pleasant; I would say that was the highlight. The place was so much older.

I'm moving into The Woods at Canco. I checked it out and I'm very happy with it. The room is beautiful. It's small like a little apartment. Its got a kitchenette, a living room, and a bathroom. The staff members were very helpful and very nice. I don't know anything about the place because I haven't moved in yet, but as far as I can see, it's very nice. They've got meals and it's nice. I'll have people around me. The dining area is beautiful with large tables. I'm very pleased with it.

My mother chose The Woods at Canco. She liked the way it looked, the feeling, the atmosphere, and she moved in there. The rooms are really nice, they're average size, and she has a little apartment with a living room and kitchenette; it has everything but a stove. She has a nice-sized bedroom, bathroom, and three really big closets. My mother likes it there a lot. They have activities. Not as many as before, but my mom played socially-distant bingo, and she won a bracelet. She's really happy about that, she's meeting people, and making friends. Everybody I've talked to has been wonderful to me. I can text them or call them if I have any issue; I like them. It's comfortable and they try to promote a sense of community. They had gifts for her when she moved in, and they fed me lunch. The food is really good. She gets three meals a day, and three snacks a day.

My visit to The Woods at Canco was good. It's a really nice community and very well-maintained, the staff knew every single one of the residents. I was blown away when we were sitting in the dining hall, the staff knew coffee preferences and dietary needs and so on. They were really attentive. The rooms were immaculate and gorgeous, and the grounds are also gorgeous. There's a lot available, they have an on-site library. It's somewhere I would want to go. We looked at independent living, they have apartments inside but they also have individual cabins outside. So it's more like they're living in a home rather than an apartment. They also have a beauty salon on the second floor, it's really a nice place and affordable.

The Woods at Canco was a great community, and it's something that we're considering in the future. We saw the apartments, the separate cottages, and the entire facility. We had lunch there. They're somewhat expensive, but the people I spoke with were all very kind and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious.

My visit with The Woods at Canco was very good. I would give high marks for the representative who worked with me. She was very good and very thorough. I was quite pleased with what I saw. It was a beautiful spot and I wouldn't hesitate to live there if it were just a little closer to town. They're not on the bus line. Much of what they have to offer was very good. The apartments were quite adequate, well done, and you have enough windows. The access to the rest of the building was good. The activities seemed to be pretty sound. Everything seemed clean, neat, and well organized for my purposes in terms of the rooms and in terms of access to the rest of the building.

My visit at The Woods at Canco was fantastic. It was senior-friendly with fantastic staff, and it seemed like a perfect fit for her. If my aunt had not gone with a family member, this is where I would encourage her to go. They were pet-friendly, and she has a pet; they were smoker-friendly and she smokes; and they had lots of activities onsite and off-site. They allowed their clients to have their own vehicles, they had a hair salon on the premises and a really nice selection of food at meal times, and the apartments were adorable; they were perfect for a single person. Everybody greeted me very nicely, and they were sensitive to the condition of why I was there to visit.

I’ve only been here for 2 weeks in The Woods. So far everything has gone very smoothly, and I’m pleased with it. Everything is satisfactory. The food is decent, it’s not upscale restaurant type, but it’s alright. It takes quite a while to get served, so they can increase the number of servers.

I am currently staying at The Woods at Canco. The place is adequate, although I have encountered a lot of problems. It has been a bumpy ride. I am in a shared balcony room, and the lady that I shared with was so mean. I don’t like that they have a policy that you only have an hour and a half to eat.

My husband is in The Woods at Canco. I find the community quite good. It is a senior-living, and not an assisted-living. The services have been good. The food is good. I will recommend it. For me, it is lovely. They have a lot of activities, and a lot of people have been there a long time. They participated in a lot of things.

The visit at the Woods was very good, and they were very professional. Good follow-up on their part, and good facility. They are more independent-living; which is great, but my mother needs a little bit more on that. I would highly recommend it for independent-living. Great facility. They actually have list of private cares you can call, and they can come in to do that care for you. It’s clean, and top-notched.

The Woods at Canco was excellent. It's a beautiful building, very spacious, excellent food, and marvelous dining room. They had very nice rooms; singles, and doubles. It's just expensive. The staff members that we met were very efficient, and marvelous. The dining area was excellent. Everybody that I talked to on-staff was cheerful, happy, and wanted us to come stay with them. There was a long list of activities on the board, and it looked to me as though we could possibly be very comfortable doing some of those.

The Woods at Canco Was a very nice place. The staff was friendly and curious. We had lunch there and the food was good and they gave you a few choices. There was a lot going on and residents were engaged. The rooms were good size clean and had a small kitchen. Unfortunately my dad required a little more care so we choice another place. This is a great assisted living place for someone who doesn't rehire a lot of care.

I’m familiar with The Woods because that’s where my mother lives right now. It’s a lovely building, and it’s very nicely appointed. It has a wonderful dining room; the meals are fabulous. The facility has many activities for its residents. They have a shuttle bus that takes people shopping several times a week, and it takes people to their medical appointments. They have little side trips around town or sometimes they arrange for the bus to take people to see concerts or plays. They have movies every day which is great. They have activities all day long: several different types of exercise classes, several different physical games like beach ball volleyball, and some other indoor physical games. They have a library which is nice. They have a computer room for anyone to use. They have a lot of entertainment; musicians and singers come in and perform for the residents a couple of times a week. It’s a very active community. My mother has been there for a while, and she has had a hard time making the transition but only because she has Alzheimer's. There are several people there like her, and they tend to gravitate towards one another, so she always has people around her that want to spend time with her. There’s a lot of social interaction. The staff has had some management changes. The new managers are not as open and warm and friendly as the original ones, but they’re competent and know what they’re doing. Overall, it has been a positive experience.

My mother-in-law lives in Canco Woods (The Woods at Canco). She is been there for 10 years, and it is a nice place. It is just the she needs more help than they can give her. It is a very nice place, and the staff is very helpful. She has a good experience with it. They have all kinds of different activities. They have a bus that takes them to appointments, and they also have a bus that takes them to local entertainment venues. They have entertainment come in there in the form of musical groups. They have exercises, little sporting exercise like balloon volleyball and sitting tai chi, they have a pool table on the second floor, and they have plenty to do, if they want. However, you have to understand when you get to be 98 years old, sometimes things are not exactly the way you want them to be. For the most part, her comments about the food are positive. Everyone is so well. When the meal does not meet with her approval, she's not happy about it, but that's just what's it like.

The Woods at Canco was a very nice place. Everything was clean. It wasn't super fancy but I thought it had a nice atmosphere too. It didn't seem crowded and uncomfortable. It looked like a friendly and open space. I thought the people were very warm and welcoming. I really like the owner and the people who worked there. They were happy.

My dad is living in The Woods at Canco since July. We choose it because for one it is a very pleasant, and open central area. It is easy for him to find his way to that area and there is a lot of light flowing into it. Also, it has the best ratio of men and women. Thirdly, they rent an apartment with the facility, but they have a health organization, which provides like the needs for his meds twice a day and they only charge him for the small amount of time that they are spending with him in terms of the services that he needs. Another plus is that they have live-in managers, which are two couples. One couple manages it one part of the week and one manages the other. They seem to have extensive training with working with people of that age and they seem to be very able and professionally competent. I also like the live-in aspect because I like the idea that they are constantly keeping an eye out for anything that might be a problem. Their apartment varies in sizes, but my dad is in a studio which is roomy. It is L-shape so that the bedroom area is on the side and there is a small kitchen and a living area. He actually is able to walk out on into an enclosed courtyard from his apartment, which is nice because he has an outside sitting area. Another plus that the dining is large and open, but if all the chairs are filled up, the will take the person and find a table or a group for him to sit with. They don't allow people to sit with the same people every day. I also feel that the food is very good. It is takes advantage of the local are produce and dish. They have a day chef and a night chef and both of them seem competent. If somebody has a birthday, they do something special on that day for that person like make him a birthday cake. They have activities like bingo, bean bag baseball and balloon volleyball, which he loves. He loves the musical events. He is able and they did a really good job in encouraging him to get involved in the activities. They have little announcements and it is a nice reminder for people who are kind of forgetful.
