I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother can’t get up and walk around her legs don’t work very well anymore. She can usually get up from her chair to use the commode that’s right in front of her chair. Sometimes she even needs help with that and when she rings her bell for someone she will usually wait for 30 minutes to sometimes hours before anyone comes in. When a nurse does go in she’ll ask for help getting up to pee and they say they will be right back and they don’t. So my mother can’t hold it anymore and she urinates in her chair. She has fallen a few times there and been all black and blue and no one notified me or did a report. Some of the nurses tell her that they ignore her bell because she calls them too much. They will walk right passed her room and she will yell to them to help and they don’t. She tells them she is having a hard time breathing and they give her an anxiety pill thinking that’s it when it’s not. I’ve been on the phone with my mother when she is yelling for help over and over and no comes. It total BS. I keep calling the nursing home and complaining about her care and they just want to take the nurses word of my mothers or mine. I have to try and find my mother a new nursing home because this one sucks. My next step will be calling the state. You send your mother to a place and hope they will care for her and they don’t do very well at that. It’s so hard when my mother calls me in the night crying about how they are not help her. It’s sad because you just want to know your parents are getting the best care and clearly she is not.

This is a wonderful community home! The residents are treated with love and care above and beyond! I appreciate everything they did for my mom. And are currently doing with my brother

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My uncle was transferred there from a hospital following hip surgery. When he arrived after a three hour trip by ambulance, he had to wait 30+ minutes for them to find a bed pan. The ambulance attendant let him use a portable urinal to relieve himself. They didn’t have a remote for the tv so he could adjust the volume or turn it off. He was very unhappy with their lack of preparedness for his arrival.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My smart strong mother was transferred here from hospital following treatment for a fractured sternum. She has been 24 hours plus without pain medication because they the nursing staff can't figure out how to get it from the local pharmacy. She is placed in a quarantine room where they have told her she can't use the bathroom because of COVID. They refuse to get her up and ambulatory. This is why she is there! She needs a minor assist. She rang for assistance to use the bathroom and waited 30 minutes before someone came with a bedpan. The female nurse insisted the male employee accompanying her needed to be present while she used the bedpan. He told my mother "this isn't a resort" when mom complained about how long she had to wait. They insist on keeping the door to her room shut "because of COVID" They do not respond when she rings the bell. Mom sits and sits and waits. God forbid, she has fallen. Mom is diabetic and her food trays are loaded with sugar and salt packets, sweets on the tray and salty food usually ice cold. The coffee has spilled out of the cup and soaks her tray, never cleaned up. They force her to wear a diaper. It seems their mission is to make her an invalid rather than rehab her so she can return home. We are trying to get her moved and this facility will be reported for elder abuse. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!

My mom was at Sandy River for a few months before her passing. She received wonderful care. All of the staff was very caring and friendly with my mom and our family! Their holiday activities were fun and festive. The staff also helped a lot with filling out needed paperwork. They do a great job of putting compatible people in rooms. Even though there are two people in a room they each have their own privacy. I would highly recommend the facility.

Sandy River was excellent. The girls were wonderful. They did a little training for the the help care providers and make sure that they could give him his insulin, and they did a great job. They were friendly and helpful, and the facility was very clean. I would recommend this facility.

I visited this facility

The facility was good. There was great service my relative who was staying at the facility needed something so she pressed the need assistance button and they came in under 1 minute to help. I think that the staff is amazing. A bad thing about the facility is that it wasn't always the cleanest I went to the kitchen to volunteer and help out. In the kitchen I saw dishes that had stuff on the dish that weren't properly cleaned. It was really gross.

this is a very nice place. the faculty is always nice to the residents. and the residents are wicked nice themselves. they know how to have fun and keep people entertained. it's a very lovely environment to be at. now the food there is to die for. i love eating there when i go its the best tasting food i've ever had. there is also a no smoking policy even outside the place so thats good on everyones lungs. I've had three relatives stay here and they always looked happy when i went to see them. I know everyone there is in great hands. The staff they got now is such a wonderful team. I mean if i stay around here and grow old this is where id want to go. I feel like id had more people caring for me here then anywhere. But until then keep up the great work and keep the elderly happy.
