My mother went in as an Independent, then eventually went to assisted living before she needed full time care. The Residence took wonderful care of her and the nurses and nurses aids were the best...caring, helpful, sympathetic. The Activities Director always made sure to tell mom about any games, music, or trips that were taking place. Mom is very particular about her food. The kitchen staff always made sure she had her favorites and gave her excellent choices when she didn't care for the menu. The entire staff was very communicative to myself, too. I can't say enough good things about The Residence. Then when she needed to move over to The Commons for full care, the transition was without incident. Very easy move. I highly recommend Tall Pines facilities.

We like the flexibility at The Residence at Tall Pines. My mom can go from independent living to assisted if necessary, and stay in the same room. The person who gave the tour seemed fine. Their basic room seemed spacious enough for her needs, and they have one-bedroom and two-bedroom options. The place was very, very clean, and very pleasant. They had some exercise facilities, they have a hairdresser that comes in, they have a library, and space for gathering.

I visited The Residence at Tall Pines. We are very hopeful to get my parents in there, but after they were evaluated the staff felt that it was too high of a risk to put mom there, so they refused her. The rooms were beautiful. The dining area was like a 5-star restaurant. It’s a fabulous place, and I would live here myself.

The staff are very caring and knowledgeable. The rooms are well-sized, clean and sunny. My grandmother loves her new friends, which are the staff and other residents.

Staff is very friendly, the Living area is nice, not to small. Cleaning services could be better, they seem a little understaffed.

Tall Pines was a fitting facility. It seemed to provide all of the basics, but I didn't really like its atmosphere. The building was closed up, allowing very little light in. This added to the overall dark feeling of the facility. Staff seemed to be pleasant and reasonably helpful. My friend was well tended too and seemed to enjoy her stay. The rooms were plenty large and I did like the large, open, social area. I think this would encourage outgoing, social behavior. In the the elder who don't have a whole ton to look forward to, I believe this is a positive experience. It's too bad that, like in many other local areas like Harbor Hill, that the long term physical patients are mixed with the mental patients. This could easily discourage a physically inept person as they are constantly surrounded by a group of people who know not where they are and know not why. I would find this depressing. Everything seemed to be pretty clean, though it was certainly of older style. This Nursing Home was adequate, but I really wouldn't have made it my top choice.

There was only one unit available when we visited Tallpines. The rest were all taken. The have 2 bedrooms, 1 bedrooms and a studio. The studio actually have 2 separate rooms with a little kitchenette. The one that was available is the smallest unit and it a studio type. The units are all new and very clean. They will be meeting my mom for an assessment. They want to know if they can take good care of her for now and in the future at the level she's at. And if my mother doesn't like it, it's not gonna be good either. We don't know yet if we will move her there yet. We will know after the assessment.
