I am a retired nurse, and I have a great deal of experience in health care facilities. I recently spent one month in the Skilled Nursing Wing of Harbor Hill. I found the staff at all levels to be cheerful, caring and proficient at their jobs. All seemed to work together as a team. Harbor Hill is a very clean, beautiful building overlooking Belfast Harbor, with gorgeous shrubs, trees and flowers along tarred walking paths. I give Harbor Hill 5 stars!!

Harbor Hill Center was amazing. They are all-inclusive. They have medical staff on site. They give you two choices on their menu. If those two choices are not what you like, you can make another choice. It's a clean facility, and I enjoyed it. They offer activities and entertainment. They have a beauty salon.

My grandmother fell and broke her hip, she stayed there for respite, the staff were very friendly and attentive. I know how hard it can be taking care of multiple elderly at a time , you have to have patience and the staff there do. My grandmother enjoyed her stay and would recommend it to anyone.

My wonderful fiancée passed away there last year . Most of the people where quite friendly . But there where a few I wondered how they got that job. They had a difficult time trying to get her in the chair lift . Another nurse an RN actually belittled a subordinate right in front of my fiancée and myself which I thought was totally wrong . There needs some changes that need to be made but over all I would rate it 7-10

Been there a lot to visit - not a clean and well managed place. Make sure you go several times to see for yourself, not much interaction with residents. Met a few good staff, but the care and sanitation is NOT there. Needs a lot of work with building and resident care. Would not recommend for anyone, sorry

Harbor Hill Center was very nice and homey. I felt comfortable the minute I walked through the door. You can bring your own furniture in the rooms, and they can also supply you with furnishing. Their dining setup is restaurant style, and if they want to eat in the room, they can, but they don't encourage it because they want them out to socialize with other people. They have an exercise room, outdoor space if anybody wants to go out and sit, and a great room where everybody can get together. The staff was wonderful.

It was very beautiful and clean. The staff was wonderful. Their apartments were small but adequate and nice. However, they didn't have store or places where the residents could get their hair cut nor do they have people to come in and get your nail done and stuff like that. But they had the transportation that could bring you anywhere you wanted to go. I would recommend them to others.

My mother had a compression fracture and she's now using a walker to move around. She was in Harbor Hill for 2 months. She was also there 4 years ago after her heart attack and we thought to bring her again there when she had a fall 2 months ago. Harbor Hill is also known to have much better skilled nursing facility here in Belfast. The service and the staff were good. The food was adequate and they have some snacks and nice people who served them.

There was one unit available in Harbor Hill Assisted Living but it was the water view and it was $6000 a month. The private units there tend to be pretty pricey because of the beautiful view of the water. The entire facility was very nice. The one unit available has this amazing and lovely view. At this point, the price is just not reasonable for us.

The atmosphere was clean and elegant. It was simple, somewhat like the stereotypical nursing home. I didn't like who the mostly permanent residents were mixed with the rehabbing residents as I believe it discourages hope of leaving for those who are actually able to leave. Rooms were mostly double occupancy. I have no problem with this as long as long term patients are not mixed with those in rehab. Staff seemed to be friendly and were quite talkative and knowledgeable. Assistance was nearly instant when my friend rang his buzzer. There was cable TV in the rooms, providing for some entertainment while my friend stayed. The nursing home has WiFi, another major benefit for those who are just in rehab, allowing them to keep in touch with friends and family in a digital manner. The home itself is located right by the water in an elegant location providing optimism for those visiting. Overall, my limited experience with this home was positive.

I visited a couple of friends who lived in the assisted living section of the Harbor Hill Nursing Facility and I was impressed by the quality of the rooms and the cheeriness of the staff.

I found the facility was clean and inviting. The staff was friendly, and I think most of them realy cared about the residents. At times it felt sterile and dreary. I think the biggest challege in improving this facility is trying to keep an assisted living center in Maine upbeat. There needs to be more activity, however that is a challenge in a small community, with a cold enviroment. My grandfather lived here for over three years, and eventually passed away while living there. I never felt good about him being there, but understood they did their best, and it was above average compared to other nursing homes in the area.I was never concerned with the skill level or qualifications of the staff, and that was reassuring.

When I visited Harbor Hill Center in Belfast, I was somewhat impressed. The nursing staff seemed kind and courteous, and the clients at the facility seemed to appreciate their help and carried conversation with them in a matter that showed that they had a general liking for the nursing staff. I wasn't as impressed with the overall look of the facility as I had planned to be, but my opinion may be biased due to the fact I had never visited an assisted living facility previous to this visit. The facility was relatively clean, but didn't look too extravagant and also didn't portay the looks of an actual home, which is what most clients in an assisted living facility are looking for. Other than that, I feel that the facility was satisfactory.
