My sister is in Pointe Coupee Healthcare. They offer a lot of attention to their patients; they're not just sitting around. Her medications have been regulated to where she can function now, she can speak, write, read and walk. They were pureeing all of her food. But she started not eating so they sat with her, gave her small bites of food and chopped up her food, and observed her. And they still check in on her whenever she's eating. Someone is always in the cafeteria walking around and checking on them while she's eating so she's eating more now. The cleanliness is perfect and spotless. She does arts and crafts there and she enjoys it. She also goes to programs and prayers, someone comes to say the rosary, and she also goes when any other preacher comes in. I feel like we're getting our money's worth there.

I went to Pointe Coupee. It was very clean. The rooms were spacious, and all the employees I met were very helpful. Their private rooms each have their own sitting area. They have their TV and their private bath. It was just very nice.

Do Not place your loved one at this place . The neglect is unreal . My mother is 10 times worse than what is was on admissions . Complaints don’t help , it’s just pure neglect !

My brother is in Pointe Coupee Healthcare. He was born and raised in New Roads, and there are several people in there that he already knew, that's whey we went with them. The place is real nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly. We have no problems. He likes the food. They have a salon and they cut his hair. Everyone on the staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. The facility is great. They have exercise, Bingo, card games, and they do the rosary. He likes the activities.

When the time came for us to choose a nursing home for our elderly aunt we knew that Point Coupee Healthcare would be first on our list. Our aunt had friends who had been placed there and she had visited them there and was comfortable with what to expect there and was content to be among people that she knew. The facility is really beautifully decorated and it was actually an upgrade in living for my aunt who had spent most of her life in a small country house. The staff was welcoming and was able to accommodate my aunt with her requests for living there. She was placed in a wing next to a friend of hers and settled in. We no longer have to worry about her eating properly or sticking to her special diet. Those needs are taken care of and she is happy with the meals she is served. She enjoys the outings and activities that are provided for them. We receive regular calls from staff to let us know that she is doing well and they let us know when she needs extra clothes or when she wants something that we can provide for her. We had one problem with one staff member and brought it to the attention of the administration and they investigated and handled the situation properly. The cost of a nursing home is expensive but when you find one that gives you a peace of mind then it is well worth it.
