I am/was a resident of this facility

I moved to Brookdale Mandeville. The people are so friendly. The place is very clean. I like the other residents who live here, they're very kind. The food is good. They have bingo and other things, but I don't participate. They have a courtyard at the back, and people can go out, and there are all kinds of flowers. They serve three meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I brought my own Japanese scrolls and stuff, and in the room is a microwave, and a refrigerator.

I toured Brookdale Mandeville. It's a great community and a very nice place. Lots of sunshine and lots of private rooms. I liked it, and that they had a lot of small rooms instead of huge rooms. They're very very cheerful and the dining facility looks good. I only met one person, and she wasn't the person to really do the job. It was a Saturday, so she was not a regular person. I knew that she was well-received by the people because I could see the reaction of the people to her.

I visited this facility

I toured Brookdale Mandeville. It was a cozy, welcoming facility. It had a lovely outside area to sit. The dining room was pleasant. The halls were nice and wide. They had carpeted hallways, it didn't feel like a hospital. The rooms were a little small. They showed me a woman's room, which was decorated, and it was fine. The person who's used to giving a tour went on a day off, so I thought it would even be a better experience. The lady was very pleasant and did her best to answer our questions, and it wasn't even her job. I think she was the activities advisor, not the person who tours for people coming in for new facilities. She stepped up to the plate, and I thought that was commendable. The building was very clean. It did not have an odor, no ammonia smell, nothing like that, it's a very clean environment.

We went to Brookdale Mandeville. What we liked best, considering my mother's age, was that it wasn't so new-looking. It was antiqued, like the setting was a little more mature, which made my mother a lot more comfortable. Everybody was very warm. They were treating everybody like family. They seemed to be extremely accommodating. The rooms were really beautiful. They were very nice, but they had a little bit of the nursing home smell. It wasn't as fresh and didn't smell quite as clean.

I visited this facility

We toured Brookdale Mandeville. It was very clean and very personable. The lady who helped us was very informative. My sister found it easy to talk to her. My sister liked the room. It would have been a studio apartment-type room. She liked the idea that she could have a pet there, and it was nice that she would have hurricane evacuation with no additional charge. I liked that it was only one story. We happened to pass in the hallway and the chef who was very nice invited us to come and have a meal. They have a lot of activities. The courtyard seemed nice. The dining area was spacious. The halls were very spacious, and I liked that. It didn't seem so closed-in. I like the idea that laundry was included with the monthly fee, so that was a good thing. We were impressed. It's a consideration. The staff who toured us was very good. The place was nice, but the colors could be a little brighter.

Brookdale Mandeville was very nice and calming. Their residents were very well looked after. Tracey gave me the tour, and she was great. She's very passionate about what she does. The apartments were just the right size. They had a nice courtyard for people to walk around in and seating areas outside.

We toured Brookdale Mandeville. It's a very nice, quiet facility. It's an older facility, but it's well-maintained. The staff who showed me around was very cordial and very knowledgeable. The rooms were large for a care facility, and they had a lot of extra amenities. They had a full bathroom, and they also had a small kitchen, which was nice. It was also convenient right off of 190. It's easy to get to.

Brookdale Mandeville was a very nice place. I like the cleanliness of the place. The apartments were not quite as big as the other place. When I was there visiting, they were right in the middle of eating lunch. I didn't go in their lunch facility or anything or check it out, but I did have a copy of the menu from there, and the food's pretty much on the same line as the other place. The place was exceptional. The person during the visit was a very nice lady. She's definitely an asset to the company. She gave me a fantastic tour of the place. We toured the grounds, and we toured the activity rooms. They keep them busy. She was very, very nice, and very knowledgeable. I'm the type of person who asks a lot of questions, and she never once stalled on anything I asked her. She's very well educated on what she does.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was in need of memory care due to advancing dementia and Parkinson's disease. She has been at Brookdale for three weeks and seems to be thriving and doing well already. The staff is always SO friendly and helpful, and they care about the residents. I should have placed her sooner! I didn't rate the food because I haven't tasted it but mom seems to like it. :)

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Last year, Our senior family member had received the most compassionate and nurturing care imaginable, especially from two (2) distinguished care givers at Brookdale, Mandeville LA. However, TODAY, and as of June, 2022, their best and most compassionate staff, have just left, and their replacements are very poor quality. The residents have now the worst care I have seen. And many senior residents are most unhappy. In my opinion, Brookdale and The Trace, have become the worst place I know of for your senior family member.

I felt like Brookdale Mandeville memory care was dark and not as clean as other facilities I had seen. The rooms were just way too small. Overall, it just seemed like a step-down. It was not as updated as other ones that I have seen, and it didn't seem as well-kept. I didn't see any activities, but they had activities listed on the information I got. I just didn't observe any of them during my visit. I think it had both studios and shared rooms. The staff was very nice, but I don't think they were as professional as some that I've seen or talked to.

Brookdale Mandeville gave a good tour and a lot of information, but my brother-in-law has a big dog and three cats, so it won't quite fit. It's very nice but he's not quite ready for full care yet. We toured the assisted living and it looked like they had good staff and a good facility. It's just that it was more care than he needed. The cleanliness was very good, everything was very festive, they were clean, friendly, and very efficient.

Brookdale Mandeville is old. It's just like there's paint on it and carpeting. It is like the maintenance wasn't done as well as the other places I toured. They need to improve it, really. They showed me their TV room, dining room, and the outside courtyard (which was not much). It didn't have much to offer. The staff was nice; I didn't have any problems with them.

The tour at Brookdale Mandeville went well. The lady was very nice; I guess she's the director, if that's what you want to call her. The apartment was very small. The pricing was a little high. It seemed like a good community; no issues. It was just out of our price range to be honest with you. She showed me the dining area, courtyard, art room, and different things. It was very clean. The staff was very nice and very professional. They have bingo, art, and holiday parties. There's like a banquet room; the family wants to go in and use the banquet room to throw a party for my mom or whatever, and you can do that and things like that.

My tour at Brookdale Mandeville was really good. We discussed my concerns and what needs my mother would have, and the lady I met with did a really good job of inquiring about those. We toured the rooms, and they were really nice, compact, and accessible. Everything there was all nice, clean, and well kept. They have common areas and a fitness area, and they have some social activities, too. The facilities were nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is in Brookdale Mandeville. When I walked in, it just felt like a home rather than a country club-like some of them do. She's in the Alzheimer's/memory care unit, and I'm very pleased. The staff is very pleasant and very caring. She doesn't remember what she eats, so I really don't know anything about the food. I'm told that they are doing little Mardi Gras floats out of shoeboxes, they do some exercise, and they have game night, and as far as I know, these are continuing. You can't go there to be involved in the activities, so I can only go by what they're telling me. It's very well laid out. They have several different areas that people can go to like the library, a canteen area, and a craft area. It's very nice.

I loved Brookdale Mandeville. It was very nice. I loved Lauren, the person who gave me the tour. She's precious and excellent. She was very kind and empathetic. I was very impressed. The dining area looked lovely. It didn't feel like an assisted living place, nursing home, or memory care unit. It felt like a hotel and it had wide hallways, like a Hilton, a Marriott, or a Ritz-Carlton even. They had a library that I was very impressed with, a very nice TV room, and they had an open house for family that night. The place was clean.

We placed my mom in Brookdale Mandeville. It has caring, very attentive staff, and the place is clean and does not smell. They have activities for them, and so I have been pleased so far. The food is good. She is in the memory care wing. They have arts and crafts and a lot of entertainment. They had a little Christmas party and took them out to see Christmas lights and to have a little tour of the city. They have activities going on all the time to keep them busy.

Brookdale Mandeville (Formerly Emeritus at Mandeville) looked very nice. I got to visit their rooms and they were very nice. I am interested in their respite care if my husband and I want to travel. They had some rooms for that and they were set up really beautifully. The activities were very nice. The dining area and the living area looked beautiful. They had a musician that particular day. It was a really good day for me to visit. Somebody in the administration was extremely professional and very helpful. Based on what I saw and what I learned, it was excellent.

Brookdale Mandeville was a very nice facility. I liked it, but it's financially not feasible for me right now. It's very clean, and the people were very friendly and very helpful. Brookdale is a very nice, clean, very well-decorated, and pleasing to the eyes facility. My friend has short-term memory loss, and they have to have her where she is watched and cannot leave. She has a room, which is very nice. It is rather large. They get them up, get them dressed, and bring them into a community room where they gather and watch TV. I have another friend there whose father-in-law goes there after surgery, and they are very pleased.

I visited this facility

I visited Brookdale Mandeville for my parents. The lady I met with was wonderful. She answered all my questions. She gave me basically all the information I needed to know. The facility itself was really nice. It was very homey feeling. It didn't feel like a nursing home even though they can offer that care. It was very clean and really big. They have a library and a computer room and all those different stuff for the residents to use. Overall, I really like it. The rooms were really nice. There was room for a fridge and a microwave, there was a nice big handicap-accessible bathroom, and there was nice furniture. The dining facility was nice and big, and it felt like a restaurant. It was really nice. They have different menus and different diets available. They have lots of activities too. They have a monthly calendar that showed the activity that they did. They also provide transportation to and from doctor's appointments and to the stores, so there were lots of opportunities to get out and do stuff. The thing that impressed me most was that all of the people who work there seemed to know everybody, and that’s really important that they have a personal relationship with them and they genuinely care about them. The lady who was giving me the tour knew every single resident that she passed by and knew their stories. One of them needed help getting back to his room, and she knew right away that he needed his wheelchair; that impressed me because personal relationship is the most important thing to me.

We chose Brookdale Mandeville for my father-in-law, but he passed away before he could move in. It was a nice, clean place. The staff was very caring and involved with their patients or clients. Brookdale Mandeville was recommended by the social worker at the nursing home where my father was doing rehabilitation after a stroke. We went and visited there, it’s lovely, and they served us lunch. We have to meet with some of the other residents, and they were very happy there. We then made arrangements for my father to move there, and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and available. They have activities all throughout the day; they have exercise classes, bingo, live concerts, cooking demonstrations, birthday parties, arts and crafts, and gardening. The room is lovely and very nice.
