The care is below average, they do not keep track of their residents clothing, my mother often times had other people's clothes and they had hers, even though they were clearly labeled. The food is usually cold, especially ice cold if the patient needs help eating. I had to take it upon myself to take my mothers clothes home and wash them myself, and I also had to make sure we had someone there to help her eat at every meal. During the day they under medicated my mother and at night they over medicated her, so they wouldn't have to be bothered. The day I was able to transfer my mother out of that awful place was one of the best days of my life. I believe the SPCA would've taken better care of my mother than this place. Don't bother trying to discuss your issues with administration, because he is usually unavailable, does not return phone calls, and is all together very unprofessional.

This facility seemed very clean and organized. Most of the staff members were nice and welcoming, but one of the employees gave us an attitude. My spouse's grandmother just moved into this home, and she is not happy about her situation. She does not feel comfortable living away from her son and daughter-in-law. I enjoyed the pictures hanging on the walls in the hallways and lobby. I felt comfortable at the center. The garden was kept up well, and the temperature inside was perfect. Visiting hours were reasonable. I did not get to see the food they served the residents, and my grandmother-in-law did not want to comment on it. I do not have much else to compare this facility to, as I have only been to this one, but I would not mind retiring here. The courtyard in the back was beautiful and caught the sunlight perfectly with adequate shade and a fountain.

Twin Oaks Nursing Home is one of the finest nursing and convalescent facilities in this area. One of the first thing you will notice when you walk through their doors is how clean and fresh the place is. Though the residents share a room, the rooms are large and comfortable. Each resident has their own phone and television with DIRECTV at no extra charge. They have plenty of well thought out activities for the residents such as, a pep rally on game day for our local pro. Football team. A resident's production of "The birth of a King". Since it's so close to New Orleans, every Mardi Gras, they have a Mardi Gras Ball. They pick a king and queen and a local elementary class comes by and they have a parade. They have a well trained staff that keeps tracked of the resident's medication, their nutritional needs and their overall wellbeing. They see to their doctor's appointments and provide transportation. As you can see, Twin Oaks Nursing Home is a well organize, clean and fun place for those who are in need. I highly recommend it.
