I visited this facility

I toured Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community. I think the size of the rooms was larger than another place that I toured. So, the size of the rooms is also a plus. I thought the place had a very homey feeling atmosphere. It was very clean. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. I liked the place, but there didn't seem to be much space for the activities. Although they had a lot of planned activities, the area wasn't that large, and it was in the common area as you entered that building. They need more privacy for their activities.

I visited this facility

We toured Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community. The rooms were small. People were playing a game there. Activities were scheduled, and everyone seemed okay. Although I didn't personally meet any residents, a lady outside saw us come in. I was in a wheelchair, and she immediately got up to open the door for us. The people seemed nice and friendly.

I visited this facility

Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community is a very nice place. Everybody is friendly, and it seems to be very organized. The staff member who toured me just got straight to the point about everything, and wasn't pushy or anything like that. She gave me all the information and showed me what I wanted to see. She gave me brochures and information. Everything I asked for, she pretty much got that for me. The apartment is really nice. Everything is clean and nice. I looked at the dining area, but I didn't try any food. It is spacious. It has more space than I thought it would have.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community was right by my house. I could walk to it. I wanted to get my father in there, but there were two things that stopped me from wanting to. They didn't have an opening at the time, and the other is that they didn't have a nursing facility. They have a health administrator, but they didn't have a nurse there. The staff showed the three different styles of room. Actually, I found my aunt there that we have been looking for. She moved in there, and nobody knew where she was. We thought she was still across the lake, and she was in there. When they showed me the first room, it was my aunt's room. It's a very nice facility, except for the two drawbacks. Plus, they only serve two meals a day. My father is not capable of cooking for himself anymore. My aunt's room was very nice. All the rooms were very nice. The one thing that they had that all the rest of them didn't have is a working kitchen. The rest of them have a microwave, a sink, and a little refrigerator. They have a stove, so they could cook. I tried the food, and it's very good. I had breakfast at the time. What I had tasted was very good. They had a variety of stuff for breakfast. Almost any breakfast food you can name, they had. The community was very nice. I didn't see anything broken around. They had maintenance people working. The cleanup crew was constantly cleaning the halls and everything while we were. They have a variety of stuff to do. They have a singalong. They have movie night, where they play all the movies that are in the generation of people there. They have music night. If you play an instrument or something, you can do that. They have crafts, and they have an exercise area. They have a little library for the people who can see good enough to read. In talking to my aunt, the staff are very friendly and very helpful. She also enjoys the food. It's like a little community. Everybody pretty much gets to know each other and talk. They have a space for them to gather. It's nice. If they did have an opening, I would probably put my dad there (even though they didn't have a nurse). The facility is well kept. They have a little courtyard area that is kept really nice. There are areas where if somebody wants to plant something, they can do that. They can grow little gardens. I didn't stay for the activities, but my aunt says they're great. She loved it. However, they're a little high on the price.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is at Ville Ste Marie Senior Living Community and it's wonderful. There's nothing wrong with the facility at all, it's just that she needs more help. It's mostly all independent living, but they offer assistance if needed. The staff is awesome and very friendly. The grounds are pretty. It's got a courtyard and shady trees for the elderly who likes to sit outside when it's not too hot. They prepare two meals a day, and they're very conscientious in activities for the residents. They take them all over the city, they go out to eat at restaurants, and they take them shopping. She doesn't complain, so I'm sure the food is pretty good. The facility is very nice, clean, and well kept.

I visited this facility

Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community was great. It was very nice, it was clean, it was wonderful and everybody was very nice. I liked it because it was so clean, it seemed like it would be a nice place for my brother to be because there would be friendly people to keep him company. The staff gave me information about independent living and assisted living. She knew all about the facility, she was happy to answer all my questions, and she seems caring about my brother and his troubles. They offered mass once a week, so the priest comes once a week to say mass. They had a common room and a nice dining room.

Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community seems very responsive and made my mom's move in process very easy. The community itself is modern-looking and their staff is friendly and engaging.

I would give Ville Ste. Marie a 5 on everything except they didn't have as much in the way of activities, and they didn't have an on-site pharmacy for drug management. It was more for people who were a little bit more self-sufficient. You can't age in place there to where you needed actual nursing care. It's a very nice and clean facility. The staff was professional. I saw a lot of residents when I was there.

I visited this facility

Ville Ste. Marie was clean and relaxing with the trees and everything around it. It's very nice but out of our price range. The rooms were adequate in size for what my mother-in-law needs but grossly undersized for what she wants. The people were friendly, very nice, and very informative. They seemed to know what they were talking about. The staff was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. The dining area looked spacious and clean. There was also a patio and a sunroom.

Ville Ste. Marie was extremely nice and a little smaller, which was a plus. There didn't seem to be many people there. It was more expensive than other ones. The rooms were nice. The staff we met seemed to be very nice. All in all, it was a good place. The food was fine.

I want to move to Ville Ste. Marie, but they don’t have an open apartment, so I’m on a waiting list. I like the way the apartments seemed open with a lot of light in them. They have a fair amount of window space and full kitchen, which I wanted. There was a chapel area and the usual activities. The dining area seemed like an open, cheerful place.

We went to Ville Ste. Marie, and I liked their apartments because they had some closets, but they don't have any two-bedrooms available. The staff was very nice. It was very nice; I spoke to two or three ladies and they just loved the place. They said they just thought it was a wonderful place to be. They had pretty standard activities. They had bingo some days and movies. They had a good array of things to do, plus transportations to stores, doctors, and things like that.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Ville Ste Marie Senior Living was very nice, but it was not set up for folks with memory issues. They have a very supportive and caring staff, but because they are located in the major highway, they have to be careful about wandering patients. My mother fell three times when she was there, and each of the times the staff members were right on it and took care of her. It was an open facility. The people were very helpful, and there was a staff member in the building at all times. They held masses everyday which was good because we are Catholic, and they also had physical therapy type of stuff for about half an hour a day and different board games.

Ville Ste Marie Senior Living wasn't a good fit for my parents, but the staff there was terrific. It was a great place, and the food was great. My brother-in-law's mother is there. She is a new resident there for about three months, and they've been extremely satisfied. We initially were attracted to that a whole lot. Unfortunately, my parents' dementia would have not allowed them to participate in the great social atmosphere they have there.

I visited this facility

Ville Ste. Marie was an excellent facility. The only problem is that the amounts that my mother has coming in would not sustain her in this facility. The surroundings, the staff -- everything was fine. Another consideration that I had when we were looking at it was that they only had availability on the second floor. There were three different types of room – the studio, the standard, and then the deluxe. It is a higher priced facility.

I have also visited And agreed with the first rating. It is a really nice, clean place. The aromas from the dining room each time I was there were great. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. I also work in security and was extremely comfortable with their security and life safety measures. Overall a very positive visit. I have place my dad on their waiting list.

The facility itself is very well kept an has a very homely feel to it. The interior is comfortable and well lit and seems to have somehow evaded the usual chemical smells of many similar assisted living facilities that I have previously visited. The staff and personnel are kind, polite, and obviously well trained. It is a nice and relaxing place to be for the visitor at the very least. Best of all, its residents seem to be equally happy with the arrangements as the guests.
