Wonderful facility. My Grandmother received the care she needed before she passed in 2021. They are extremely caring to the residents and offer enrichment programs for them to attend so they aren't bored.

My brother stayed at Signature HealthCARE at Summerfield for a week. It was awful. It was an older facility. One day, a pipe or something busted, and they had to move all the patients on one wing of it to someplace else because the hallway was flooded badly. The first time I came in and saw this water, I didn't see anybody working on it. They had a little thing posted to be careful and watch your step. But then the next day, it was still bad. I did see a couple of people that were trying to work on it, but it was awful. It was that way for like 2 or 3 days. The staff members were not very friendly at all. There was a lot of socialization amongst the staff, which, to me, prevented them from giving the patient proper care. One time, my brother needed help and called for a nurse, and it was close to an hour before they came. His response to my brother was that he was busy. My brother leaves his room door open, so he can kind of see what's going on. He saw a lot of socialization between the staff rather than caring for the needs of the patient. They didn't appear to have any sense of urgency about anything. They were laughing and having a good time, but not really doing what they were supposed to do. They have a lot of people pushed out in wheelchairs and just sitting in the hallways.

Summerfield has aids from different agencies that are not properly trained or do not review charts for special care. The staff has a tendency to blame mistakes on being short handed in scheduling and some patients are still in the bed at 11am, I have heard therapists asking for assistance in getting patients up to be ready for their sessions and this is being ignored. The Laundry department loses clothing and dining room staff serves cold food to the patients. I would like to see more hands on from the management team rather than the poor excuses.. The low rating displayed for the facility is demonstrated daily. Step up your game and trained your staff to be more efficient to the sick, elderly and families. Would like to see improvement assisting the help light rather than walking past the room and ignoring someone might need help. It s on for a reason.

I visited Summerfield. The staff was very nice, but I think they need to be a little bit more educated on people with dementia, like how to talk to and handle them. For activities, sometimes they have story-telling and singing. They did have a patio where they can go out. They could improve on more activities at night for the residents.
