My grandmother moved into Jeffersontown Rehabilitation. She was in the hospital and needed to go somewhere, and they were very quick to respond and offer me assistance and paperwork to get done. They just made the transition very easy. She's currently still in the rehab room. They're supposed to be moving her, but I'm not sure when they're going to. Right now, she has a single room and when they move her to long-term care, she'll be in a double room. The facility is clean. When it comes to activities, she really can't do anything. They tried with the PT, but she physically wasn't able to do it. They do have different activities, but she's not interested in them, so they're kind of at a loss for her. For the staff, the ones I've dealt with were very nice and knowledgeable.

I have two family members being cared for by these folks. They are very lax about keeping patients where they are suppose to be. One relative fell while under their care and suffered a serious bone fracture and the other fell unassisted and could have died instantly from the fall because of their medical condition.

It's a vwey different atmosphere, I guess because most people there are on Medicaid because they have to have some money to help take care of them. I don't know if I would stay there. It just always smelled like urine when we went onto the wing where people where pretty much bed-ridden. My husband was able to try the food. He said it was pretty bland. Like I said, it should be that way because of the people who had to be off the salt. I think they were a little bit more limited in their activities. They play bingo and different things. I guess most of the people there weren't able to get around a whole lot. I just wasn't really impressed with it.
