My mother-in-law moved into Laurel Village. She is in assisted care. She's able to have her dog there with her, and she likes it there. She's been very much of a hermit most of her life, literally, but now she's able to socialize with other people her age and she seems to enjoy it. It was local people who were aware of that community. The local nurses that were here in our area said that it was one of the best places that a mother-in-law or a mother or a parent could be. I took their advice and we investigated the place and it looked good, and she liked it. They can eat their meals down in the dining room or they can eat privately in their room. They can get their hair and their nails done whenever they need to have them done. They also have a separate nursing home where if one needs to make a transition from assisted care to the nursing home, then it's an easy transition from one building to the next. They were very nice. Even the guests that are there would greet you at the door and make you feel at home and just be warm. They were all warm and very joyful and merry. They liked where they were. They liked meeting people and they liked exchanging thoughts and ideas. So it seemed like a very cozy atmosphere. They do offer quite a few activities. They have movie nights, they take them out to movies, out to dinners, out to wherever they, you know, where the group selects to go, and their activities leader is very proficient at what she does. I think they make a good profit on what they do. That's why they're so much better than other facilities. Their charges are more, but it's well worth the additional price for what you get.

I have a relative who lives in the facility. I have visited it several times for daily visits as well as around holidays.THe facility is very nice and kept very orderly. The staff seems to take great care of the elderly and they seem to enjoy their jobs, while being very knowledgabe about what they are doing. They have alsways been very courteous and welcoming to the families when we come to visit our loved ones. From the experience I have had in other facilities this one seems to be tope rated and we are very satisfied with our decision to choose this facility.
