My mother entered Oakmont when she was 89 and died their a week after turning 93. The facilities were always clean when I visited, The staff was both professional and concerned. I would receive phone calls anytime they needed to change her medication or if there were any other health issues. While placing a loved one in a nursing home is not a task that anyone wants, you can rest your mind that your family member will be properly cared for. I would choose Oakmont for myself, if it was needed.

Oakmont Manor was clean. It looked nice, and it's got good staff. They had shared rooms and private rooms. They also had really good physical therapy and activities. They go fishing and do crafts. They take them shopping and to get their hair done. The person who toured me around was nice.

Mom was there for rehab. The Occupational therapist treated her very badly and yelled at her in front of me. She glared at her constantly. They didn't help her exercise. Every time I visited I asked, and mom said they didn't. After 5 weeks in there, she still couldn't stand. She caught COVID there. I know it was there because the outbreak ran through the entire facility. They called for constant updates. "Seven new residents" or "five new employees" would have covid when they called twice a week. They "lost" her two brand new sleep shirts I bought her for christmas, and another shirt which was only 2 months old. These were her best clothes. Amazingly, they didn't "lose" her stained clothes. They also "lost" her prescription reading glasses, and blatantly tried to steal the ointment I bought for her. Money kept going missing from her drawer, too. The place is run down, dirty, and stinks.
