Holiday Thornton Place was a very nice facility. It seemed it was kept up well. The people that I worked with were pleasant. I had an opportunity to eat lunch there, and the food was suitable. It wasn't great food, but it wasn't bad either. I toured the apartments and cottages over there. If I didn't need the assisted part, it would be the one I picked.

My friend has moved into Holiday Thornton Place. The staff was amazing in helping me place him there. He fit in there more than any other place with the military veterans. They had a big wall in the entryway where everyone gathers, and it had a big picture of the veterans. It just really made him feel more at home. The staff was very welcoming. These places all offer about the same thing, but the staff is what really brought us there. They were very polite, nice, and caring. They really looked out for my friend. The room is nice, very spacious, very comfortable, and clean. They have music time, bingo, a shuttle, and a private driver. They have laundry facilities and movie nights. They have a big TV room. Right now, they are all watching a basketball game. There is also the dining area. I have tried the food, and it was pretty good. I think the servings are perfect. They don't offer any soda or pop. It is tea, coffee, or water. I'm used to having a soda every once in a while, but everything else was OK. I rate the facility a three, but they are undergoing some remodeling. It seems just a little outdated. They were getting ready to start updating it. It wasnt bad. It's just that the other communities I saw were newer.

We had a very good experience with Thornton Place. The people are very kind, very caring, and genuine. My father-in-law lives there. They have singing/dancing nights, bingo, Wii bowling, and movie nights. Pretty much they have a daily activity every day. They go out to lunch once a week, too. They have a little bit of an outdoor area and plenty of parking. Some of the rooms have decks on them, while the lower ones have patios on them. They have a big patio out front with rocking chairs and a common area for sitting and visiting, but what I really like the best about them is the staff. They are just very kind.

The food is inedible, they order food and heat up they do not cook at all. No juice is available at breakfast only crystal light which is SO bad for you! No cleaning service available due to all the staff quitting, no fresh towels even toilet paper is hard to get! The residents are trying to share what they have with the others like a prison setting! My mother will not even go down to eat it’s so horrible, she is surviving on toast and cheese because she can’t afford groceries ( nor can she shop due to health). I placed her there because they touted “ gourmet meals, activities and cleaning service NONE is true. I think they used to be better but they have merged with another company and it’s been horrible for the residents and employees apparently. My mother should not be going through this at 78 years old! I’m currently looking for another place for her. I do NOT recommend this place! Talk to the residents not management to get a truer picture of what life is like for them.

The tour that I had with Thornton Place was very thorough. The person did a really good job in explaining all of the amenities and what's available at Thornton Place. I thought she was super friendly. The rooms were very clean and had great natural light, which I thought was wonderful. The dining area was also well kept and friendly . I think on that day that I visited, they had a little putt-putt set up for the residents and that their activities are based on the theme that they have for that week, which I thought was fun.

I toured Thornton Place. When I walked in the front door, it was beautiful. When I saw the front of the place, I said, "This is going to be it." I loved it. I love decorating, so the first thing that I noticed was that the place was beautifully decorated. I got a little bothered with the people that were sitting around there because I thought that they just looked a lot older than me. The staff took us to the room that I was going to probably stay in for one or two nights to see how well I liked it, and I wasn't impressed at the room that I was going to stay in. The bed looked like it just was sewn together; I just didn't care for it. It was just uncomfortable looking to me, so I sat there in a recliner and I told my best friend that I just really wanted to go back home. The room wasn't very appealing at all to me. I don't want that one-bedroom, I want the two-bedrooms, because I want the room and I need more space. They were very nice. They had beautiful windows; they were nice and bright. I picked the two-bedroom because the rooms were bigger. They have a hair salon, and they have different games there in the hallway, like bingo. They've got an exercise room and she said that they kind of set up in the chairs and sit there in the chairs and do exercises. The staff was very, very sweet, and very nice. When we got there, she had lunch for us, and the food was wonderful.

My overall experience with Thornton Place was very good. I took the opportunity to visit with some of the residents that already live there; they love it and highly recommended it. There are friendly people, lots of activities, and many, many amenities that are available with no extra cost. It was a very pleasurable experience. The apartment that I was looking at was small and compact, which was what I expected; I wasn't surprised with that at all. They provide all three meals a day, they have all the utilities paid, including WiFi and cable. They also have onsite parking/you can get covered parking for a fee. They will allow me to bring my pet. They also have a van that I could make arrangements for if I wanted to go to the doctor or whatever without having to drive. They plan activities on a regular basis to keep people entertained, and I'm just quite pleased with it. Their facilities were very clean, there wasn't any wear showing in the carpets, and it was very nice.

They do very limited cleaning. It’s getting more scarce like one time every two weeks. The food is far from good anymore. Often they do not get enough to eat. Staff is usually not trained for a position. For instance chefs are NOT chefs. They hire from within. The company is cheap, they promote uneducated people to do the jobs as they can pay them cheaper. This place runs on making money for company, not doing what is best for the clients. Good things are staff is nice, when no covid activities are frequent. Theft is an off and on problem like any of these places.

Thornton Place was a very nice place, but the apartment that they provided was on the third floor and I didn't think it would fit our mother. Everything about the apartment was nice, and the staff was very nice as well, very informative and explained everything. The dining area was large. I didn't see any problem with it. The facility looked clean.

Thornton Place looks very nice and we got a great first impression when we first entered. It seemed like a good facility, however, I did not like the presentation at all. It was not as good as it could have been. The facilities were fine, except I didn't like the fact that there were no staff members at all during the night. All you get is a metal to push so the fire department could come. There is no private entertainment area if you want relatives or friends over, and I didn't like that. It was a nice place, but the way I was sold made me feel uncomfortable about it. The rooms were large and they did give me a good price on the larger room, which is its best selling point.

While Thornton Place is a nice place, it is not where my sister-in-law wants to be. Nevertheless, the tour was fine. The staff member was polite and friendly. She was wonderful. The rooms were on the smaller side, but they were all nice. Thornton Place is a larger community with more people, but not as many facilities. The meal was good. They offered us popcorn and sodas. They did everything they could to make us feel welcome. They have a craft area and a fitness center. There are puzzles and music. It looked to me like it was very interactive. I saw people working on puzzles and people playing cards. The community was involved. There were a few very elderly people sitting in their wheelchairs just watching things going on around them, but that's normal. As you get older, you like just sitting and watching. It looked like everybody was OK there. The staff was great. Everything was clean.

My parent has lived at Thornton Place for 4 to 5 years now. Over the last couple of years the food has left much to be desired. They have been through several chefs. Frequently they don't clean their room. They will take out the trash, change the sheets and give clean towels but that is it. The facility itself is nice and her room is fine. They raise the rent every year so if you elect to move in expect the rent to go up approximately 1% every year.

Thornton Place was excellent and wonderful; I would love to live there. The person who gave us the tour was excellent, but it was not what I needed for my family member. There were quite a few social activities going on and opportunities to go on with their bus and go places together. There was a garden where you go out, sit, and enjoy. You could walk around the grounds, and people were playing cards and puzzles. It was a very social place. There were a lot of things going on.

Thornton Place seems to be very nice. They have studios, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms, they have their own furniture, and the room is comfortable, especially for my brother who doesn't want a big room and a lot of furniture -- so his apartment works out fine. The dining area is great, and the food is adequate. There's very little staff there because it's independent living, but they're very helpful. There's plenty there to do.

My mother-in-law is in Thornton Place in Topeka in the independent living. She is getting close to assisted living. It’s a very clean, very friendly facility, and she is very happy where she is. The apartment is clean and very nice, very light, and spacious.

We have visited Thornton Place and it's a beautiful facility. Their rooms were very nice too. Compared to where my parents are right now, Thornton did not serve meals in restaurant style. Even so, we love the place. In fact, we have some relatives living there. However, it is an independent living and does not have a continuing care facility. Given my parents' age, we found it necessary to have a place that offered continuing care programs.

We were looking for a facility and so we visited Thornton Place. The place looks very pleasant and very stylish. The apartments were nice. It was quite roomy with a lot of light and windows. The staff is very nice too and very helpful. They were also very informative. We had lunch there and the food is very good. They gave us some list with the services that are available as well as the activities they offer to the residents. They have good amenities there like they have housekeeping and 24/7 managers. It’s a very safe place.

My wife and I had looked at Thornton Place and my wife liked the place. The place was clean. The residents there seemed to be satisfied. We had some sample meals and they were good. However, we just couldn't afford to stay there.
