My mom is at Aldersgate Village Life Plan Community. It's nice and peaceful. She wasn't able to get out of her bed before and now she can, so they're working with her that way. She just looks a lot better than before. Her room has a bed, a recliner, and a dresser. It's pretty neat and clean. There's a bathroom right inside the room. The staff seems to be pretty helpful and ready to help her out. They check on her quite often. The food smells really good and looks good. Also, the place is pretty clean and everything.

Aldersgate was huge. They have all levels of care, they've got independent little apartments, townhouses, and they've got assisted and skilled nursing. It thought it was excellent. The rooms were really a fairly good size. One of my friends was in a double, but she had plenty of room on her side of the room. It was like a studio apartment. The staff was really friendly and helpful. It was very big and I had to walk how many hallways to get to where I needed to go, and then I found out there was another door on the other side of the building that I could get in. It was pretty spread out. On the way to her room I saw where they had physical therapy, and they had lots of equipment there. I think they had a pool somewhere and water therapy. It's on the west side of town, but way too expensive for my sister.

We chose Aldersgate. We wanted to start at the independent living, which was a home with a garage, and then you could move into an apartment. We could get involved in everything that they had to offer. Their dining area was elegant. They had a library, an exercise room, and buses that would take you to your doctors' appointments and grocery shopping. It was a larger and airy and more appealing to me.

My mom-in-law is in the rehab unit at Aldersgate Village for two weeks. It's very homey, very light, and bright. They push her to help her get better. We're very happy. The staff is very friendly, caring, and talkative even though most of the patients can't talk because they are suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's. I was really impressed with the training they must have had. They have lots of activities there.

Aldersgate Village's staff was very kind. They took care of my grandpa, fed him, and got him going. I visited him for lunch and the food looked like a pretty good, homecooked meal. The grounds and community were clean, open, and large. They also have independent living where my grandma lives now. They have individual homes for people, duplexes, and memory care. I with they could be a little more affordable. They're very expensive but have really good staff and are excellent at taking care of people. It looks like they're very well staffed.

My Mother was sent to this facility for skilled rehab. Mom was there for 4 weeks until I checked her out due to Mom was overly drugged and they were short staffed.

We did get our mom on the waiting list for Aldersgate Village. The facility is huge. It is very big. They have apartments, the nursing section, and then the rehab section. They took my mom on a bus trips twice to Lake Shawnee, and they looked at people boating and looked at duck and geese. My mom liked that. Also they have piano players and harp players come in, and they have games like bowling.

One of the places I visited for my parents is Aldersgate. They gave a lot of rules that were not good for my parents. They did have a physical exercise area. The staff is helpful and friendly. I have eaten there, and the food is not good. It just didn't have the physical facility that my folks needed. They couldn't provide something for both of my parents. One has dementia, and the other doesn't, but they needed to be together.

I really like Aldersgate very much. I think the people are very good to us, and the services are very good. We have a nice trees, yards, wild animals, lots of birds, and wild turkeys that some of them meet on the porch. The staff is excellent, and the food is good; it’s not quite as good as it might be, but it’s not bad. There’s critical care unit and mental health units, and the price is not better for people that don’t have a lot of money.

Aldersgate took very good care of my father. The facility was very clean and did not have the smell that you associate with Nursing Homes. They provide independent living, assisted living and a nursing home. This enables a person to move to more care as needed. It also allows for a spouse to remain close to the other. The personal care was not 100% but I was able to take care of some of that myself. Like making sure his teeth were brushed good and shaving him. The ratio in a nursing home is very difficult to provide the quality care a person would like. But it is a business and they need to watch their labor dollars. Unfortunately it is at the expense of the patient. However, this particular facility, the staff became very close to me and I had a lot of trust in their care. I was very comfortable with the quality of communication they had with my family. My father was in the Memory Care unit and they did a fantastic job of keeping the resident safe in their living space.
