Highland Meadows is on a landscaped residential street in the southern area of Pittsburg, Kansas. It's conveniently located a block from Ascension Via Christi Hospital, and less than a mile from Meadowbrook Mall. It's also easily accessible via State Routes 69 and 160.

The aged 62 and over neighborhood campus of Highland Meadows consists of bungalow-style apartment buildings, offering seniors an accessible homelike environment. Each 547 sq. ft. one-bedroom apartment has its own private entrance, patio, emergency call system and external storage space, and the kitchen has a range and full-size refrigerator. The monthly income-based rent covers water, trash collection, lawn care and emergency maintenance services, and there's an on-site service coordinator to assist residents with various community concerns. Residents can take advantage of the monthly blood pressure and blood sugar testing, quarterly podiatry clinics and annual flu and pneumonia vaccines offered on site.

Through a number of community amenities and resident-planned activities, seniors living at Highland Meadows can stay physically and socially active.
