I liked Anthology of Olathe. The people who took us on the tour were very nice. The rooms were fine. They have three levels of living, independent, assisted living, and then they have where you require more help. The place was very clean. Everybody was very helpful in anything. They would ask as you're going around, "Is there anything else you'd like to know?" They're second on our list. They have assistance if you need linen changed and stuff like that. They were very nice people. They had nice amenities. They had a coffee shop and you could go down and they give you two meals a day. They provided activities. We were pleased with them. I would recommend them. It was a good tour. They took over a Holiday Inn and refurbished and added stuff to it, and it's right close to the hospital. That's a good plus factor for them. They're very good there.

We liked Anthology of Olathe. The two-bedroom apartment was spacious. We liked the idea of having the washer and dryer in it. They had a lot of activities and that's what I was kind of going for. The apartment had a kitchen and a microwave, a full stove, and a full-size refrigerator. We were looking at the independent living and then we could go down and eat our meals downstairs. They had what they call the bistro and the day we were there, they were having prime rib and it smelled delicious. They have a theater room where at night, you can go in and watch movies, and I thought that was unique. They play bingo. You can go down and do cards or work puzzles and they take little trips. There was a bus parked in the parking lot. They had a beautiful courtyard where you could go out and sit. They had awnings or umbrellas over the bench to help you from the sun.

Anthology of Olathe was nice. One of the things that I liked about it was that everything was on the first floor. So, it's easily attainable. Plus the location was in between where all the family members live. I liked that the one-bedroom apartment was at a lower cost for independent living. The staff was excellent.

I toured Anthology of Olathe. It felt like a safe community with locked doors and restricted entry into the living areas. It had nice amenities, like transportation, a library, and exercise programs. If you wanted to, you could buy the meal plan. I liked the flexibility of that. What I disliked was the apartments in the independent living had such limited closet space, and that would probably be a deal breaker. It was a really, really tiny closet. It was smaller than a coat closet. You couldn't even put a small wardrobe in it. All the staff seemed friendly and kind. I saw the dining room, I heard that the food was prepared by a chef who is very good. The residents were doing an exercise class when I was there. The facility was beautiful. It was well-maintained and clean.

I went to Anthology of Olathe. It's right up there by the hospital and they even share a parking lot, and I was impressed by that because I want to be near the hospital. I was very impressed with them. They were very nice. The young woman who took me through was very helpful and I appreciated all the information she gave me. They have a little place for movies and they have a place for a gym. It looked to me like they were well serviced and everyone was extremely pleasant with very nice surroundings. The bedroom was very nice and decent sized, the bathroom was very well appointed, and the colors were very calming. The facility was very comfortable. They had a little walking area where you could get out if you had a pet or you want to go to the park. The only thing I did not like was that when you are in your apartment, there was no patio or a deck or anything to sit on. Originally, that building had been a Holiday Inn and I guess that's probably why they did not have balconies.

Anthology of Olathe was really good. The grounds were clean and nice. The building was well kept. They were having dinner when we got there, and the food smelled really good. There were a lot of people socializing. The apartments were really clean and updated. There was some live music going on. There were people in the activities room. They were working on puzzles and board games. Some people in the gym were exercising, and some were in the theater room watching a movie. I like that you can make the rooms your own home. If any modifications need to be made like adding grab bars, they would make those accommodations. The staff members were very good, very nice, knowledgeable, and super helpful.

So far, everyone we've dealt with in Anthology of Olathe is fabulous. We are very comfortable with our decision, that's for sure. My father-in-law is in the memory care area and they are just fabulous. They have activities like bingo and music appreciation time. Also, their pricing is just average with the others that we looked at. Recently, the assisted living had to be shut down to visitors due to COVID, but no one was impacted in the memory care because the residents and the staff were not together. So, we were able to continue visiting at memory care, even though assisted living was not available. They're keeping those separate and that's good.

Provider Response

We are very proud of our staff. Thank you for the kind remarks.

I did a tour of Anthology of Olathe. They have very friendly staff and were very informative. The facility itself was beautiful. It was very bright and cheery, and they seemed to have a lot of activities going on at the time. They have a lot of flexibility of services that they provide. It appeared to be very clean and well-kept. Both the grounds as well as the interior was very updated. They have a little bit of everything (like putting puzzles together). They have areas set up for that. They do outings and fun activities throughout the day.

The visit to the Anthology of Olathe was wonderful. The woman that gave me the tour was terrific. She explained everything and showed me everything. I felt very comfortable there. I know that my brother-in-law and his wife would be very comfortable there. They could start out as independent living, which is what I toured. He will eventually end up in memory care. I like the sizes of the rooms. I like the social gathering areas. Everything was lovely. They have a restaurant, which is nice. They offer a bus to take you places. They have social gatherings at different times of the day. It seems like quite a wonderful community. It was pretty scarce people-wise the day that I was there. I don't know why, but there were just a couple of people. There were three people in one of the little breakfast lunch area. They were just having their coffee and chatting, but I didn't have a chance to talk to them. Those are the only people I really saw. There were a couple of people coming and going, but that was it. I met the social director and also the activities director. They were both lovely.

Anthology of Olathe was a nice place. I was impressed with it. There are two different types of rooms that my husband could have, one is a single room and the other one is a room with a bedroom. They all had their own bathroom and it was large enough for someone in a wheelchair to be comfortable and move around. It was also clean. The lady who took me on the tour was very helpful, very thoughtful, and very understanding about what we were going through. She introduced me to different departments and I met the person who does the physical therapy, the person assigned for the food or the kitchen, and the person who operates the activity room. It used to be a hotel and it's right on the corner of I-35 and 151st Street and right next to the hospital. So there's a lot of traffic, but when you got inside you couldn't hear anything. The rooms were from the original hotel too. It was quite well used properly and already organized that way. It was pretty good. They had two tables where people could just come in, sit down, and work on a large puzzle. They also do different things each day, like paintings and other stuff. They showed me one room and it was a nice room.

My friend has moved into Anthology of Olathe. We like the location, the facility itself, and the marketing person. It's a one-bedroom that we got to furnish for her, and she was able to bring her own things with her. It's a nice-sized room. I have not tasted the food, but she seems satisfied. They have a wide variety of activities, and I saw a calendar. She has not participated in anything yet, but they play games, they have a little theater for movies, they have ice-cream socials and a happy hour every week, they have special events like a Super Bowl party, they do crafts, and there are times when they take the residents out for drives around the city. They have a beauty salon and a gym, and they offer physical therapy. It had everything that we needed for her. It met our needs, so it's a good value.

The director of Anthology of Olathe, I think his name was John, was really, really nice. The staff too was really, really nice. It just didn't meet all the needs of my parents. The rooms were all up to date, modern, and they've just been recently remodeled, but they're just too small. Their activities are nowhere near in the offerings too.

Anthology of Olathe so far has been very good. I chose this place for my mother because they have memory certification. I wanted a place for when my mom progresses so we wouldn't have to move her again. The staff is very friendly and caring. Their rooms are outstanding, the place is practically brand new. They have nice common areas and very comfortable living areas. We got her a one-bedroom, which is the biggest; they have two choices: the studio and one-bedroom. They have events, but in the COVID environment everything has been curtailed. But in the normal world, they would take them to play bingo and on outings. They have really nice dining facilities, but right now everyone is eating in their rooms. It is expensive.
