My husband was only in Lawrence Presbyterian Manor for a little bit before he passed away. I would recommend them without reservation, they were wonderful. I would describe it as very clean. The layout of the building we were in was a two-story, and he was on the second floor, but that was not a problem. He was unconscious when they transferred him, but they gave him excellent care. The people who worked with him were outstanding, they were compassionate, and I have nothing bad to say about the place.

My mother used to be a resident at the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. I just liked it because I trust the people. They take you on bus rides to places. I liked the staff.

I visited Presbyterian Manor. The facility was clean, very nice, and had several pricing plans. The rooms were a little bit small and angular, but there were other sizes. They had a host who took us around and was impressive.

What do I like about Lawrence Presbyterian Manor? Peace and quiet when you want it; Fun activities and social gatherings to choose from; Walks in the nearby Preserve; Great meals in the dining room if we do not want to cook in our duplex; Weekly services in the chapel; Finding 100 plus new friends from all walks of life; and having somebody else do the yard work and maintenance! Our staff is the best, and we all work together to make this the ideal place to live!

My parents had friends were in Presbyterian Manor, and I knew people who had been there also. It was closer, and that's why we were looking at it. The staff seemed competent. The facility was very nice, and it was in a very good neighborhood.

Presbyterian Manor was probably a typical nursing home, but I did not give it the highest rating for several reasons. I have not had much experience with nursing homes, but I noticed that a good portion of the residents seemed very sad, depressed, confused, or angry. There did not seem to be very much effort in getting the residents active or to participate in activities. It did not look like there was a good area for residents to go outside if they wished/were able. The staff was friendly, however, and the place was kept clean.

my father had an end stage neuro-muscular disorder and spent the last year of his life here with Hospice involved. I am a registered nurse by trade. The care he received was ok but I was very disappointed in how they really did not communicate with my mother. The hospice staff was from an outside agency and did fairly well. They did not really understand the safety precautions in dealing with my father who was non verbal near the end of his life and would not ask for help. Most of the time they did not use the safety belts to transfer him, they just used his pants to help to stand him and transfer because it was less effort on their part but more uncomfortable for my father. If my mother or I called for help for him it might be 30 minutes before the call lite was answered and if we were there they rarely stopped in to see him to see if we or he needed anything. We were there daily but I hesitate to think how often he was really watched at night when they were short staffed. He did fall out of bed a lot at night and was often soaking wet in his depends. We rarely ever saw an R.N., it was usually 1 LPN and a lot of aides. Since he did not communicate, they would usually leave him in his room unless we were there to get him out and involved. So overall my experience was somewhat negative. Because we were lucky to have hospice and we were able to be there most days he was able to die with dignity surrounded by family.
