I didn't like the set-up, the actual physical building as well, but I will say that they would come get my mom and make sure she went down to bingo. They're a little better about making sure people got more involved. They get them out of their rooms. I kind of worried because her medication has increased as she was there and that was a concern to me.

The staff members who have daily, direct contact with patients are wonderful. But the scheduling & number of workers at crucial times is poorly planned. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. there is either no worker available or one worker available for the entire lock down unit. From 7 pm to 8 pm up to 8 residents of the lock down unit are left unsupervised in the common area as it takes two employees to put each resident to bed. No RN on duty at night in the actual lockdown unit. Not even sure any staff member is in lock down unit after 9 pm. I am concerned for my loved one's safety right now in the lock down unit. Beyond frustrated and disappointed.

Most of the staff seemed to have their heart in taking care of their people. The facilities were in great shape and kept to a good standard. They always had a good verity of activities. They also had a lot of activities for guest to come and be with the patients. Had a good assortment of people come in and preform or teach classes to the patients. Most of the people working at Valley View would join in the activates and make the atmosphere enjoyable. When I did eat at Valley View the food always seemed to be fresh and hot. The menu was not bad for the amount of people eating there each day. Valley View provided transportation to the VA and doctor appointments. Most CNA's would be the drivers which is nice since the patients would see them and know that they were in good hands. With having a CNA being a driver it helped also in case anything happened they would be able to do what they could instead of having a random driver there and not having any medical training. All in all I think this is a good establishment.
