When my husband was still alive, we lived in Legend of Hutchinson. When we moved in over there, it was called Brookdale, and then Legend took it over. We lived there during the changeover, but there was no difference to us as people that lived there. We were in independent living in a duplex. The duplexes were very nice, zero-entry, one-car garage, two bedrooms, one bath. I think it was 950 square feet. We had once a week housekeeping, and the maintenance we needed they took care of, and we received one meal a day. The food was fine; they always had something that I liked. We could participate in any of the activities that went on in the main building. The main building is assisted living, and they have a memory care wing also. We didn't participate that much though. Occasionally, we go over and play some of the games, and some of the social things that they had, but they did have a lot more than we participated in. We only had interactions with the person in charge, whoever was working at the front desk, and then the people that worked in the dining room. We really did not have interaction with the nurses, or the CNAs, or any of those. It was a nice place to be, and the staff that we interacted with was wonderful. It was very well-maintained, and it was very nice. They had lots of choices for activities, we just didn't do it. Value for money was very good. It was very reasonable because we did not have the services of nurses or CNAs.

I went to Legend of Hutchinson and looked at the memory care and the assisted living. Our experience was very good. The woman who gave the tour was very informative and helpful. It was very clean. Everybody seemed happy and in order. They had church there, meals provided, exercise groups, and various activities. They're in the process of remodeling the courtyard for the residents to sit out, and it looked like it was gonna be very nice. However, they couldn't accept my sister because of her age. I want my sister there.

I did a tour of Legend of Hutchinson. I met several staff members and they were very friendly. I met some residents that lived there and they were really happy. It's big and they have 80 residents there. They are in the process of doing a big remodel. They're adding onto the building. They're going to replace carpeting, add a bistro, a movie theater, and the dining area is going to be larger. I did eat lunch there and it was very nice. They came and took our order and then brought the food to us. It was excellent. They're going to enlarge the dining area, but the part that's there was just really nice. They have a wall, a temporary wall, where they are doing the construction behind that. You can't see any of the construction, but it looks very nice. They have four different room sizes, and because it would just be my mother, they showed me three sizes. They were all really nice. They repaint and put new carpet in each time. Two of the three, they had finished all that, but one thing they're going to do is put new windows in all the rooms, because the windows are pretty old. They're taking care of it well. They have a salon and a library. There are several areas where they can just sit and visit all around. Considering that they were doing construction, I still felt that it was a five for the facility.

Legend of Hutchinson was very nice. The staff was excellent in giving me all the correct information and making sure I knew the prices. She showed me all the different rooms. It was very nice. The rooms, I thought, were small. We were looking for something that maybe my in-laws could have access to outdoors directly from their room, but it's all in the hallway, which I guess it's good for some people. But they were very clean and very nice, just on the small side. They have outdoor spaces, and I believe they're going to be doing some remodeling. It looked like they were in the process of starting that. The outdoor spaces were well taken care of. The staff was very helpful. I got there right as lunch was starting, and it looked like a gourmet restaurant to me. I did not try the food but it smelled wonderful. They had a small library and a larger meeting room maybe where they did some activities. It looked elegant or very updated. The staff said that they were going to be replacing the carpet and remodeling. It looked like the carpet needed to be replaced, but it was very well kept inside.

The rooms are nice. The staff are nice. However, my loved one was left on the toilet for over 50 minutes. My loved one was not fed breakfast on Christmas morning and was told that they didn't have anything to give her. I was left in the Med room, unattended for over 10 minutes the day we moved our loved one out. Staff told myself and my love one that they could not handle my loved one with a gait belt; however, I could at 140 pounds, untrained. We entered at a decent price and it almost doubled after a couple of months, and the bill was different every month; in spite of the agreement.

Its living quarters were very nice. The staff was great, very friendly, and knew the residents well. It felt like a good place for my mother. Most of the residents seemed happy, which was good. They had lots of great activities. However, they did not have an opening and my mother needed a place right away. The food was excellent.

It was nice and very clean. The building seemed relatively new or updated. The rooms were very nice. They showed us an activity room and the cafeteria area, which seemed very clean and spacious. The lady who showed us around was very capable and a good communicator. The staff seemed good.

It was nice. However, we didn't see a room because they were all occupied, but one couple did let us see a cottage, and it was very nice. We didn't try the food, but we were shown their cafeteria, and it looked very nice. They had a nice salad bar and we looked at the menu and it was very pleasing. The people were friendly. They had physical therapy and a beauty shop.

The staff was very nice, friendly, and always remember me. The memory care is part of a bigger unit that was closed off so that the residents would not have such a big space to wander around in. The security was very good. The memory care was through a locked door. Once you're in, you can move around freely. I was very impressed with their amenities.

The community meets my aunt's needs quite well, and she said the food is very good. The rooms were spacious and very nicely appointed -- exactly what she wants. It’s very clean, very light, and bright. When I walked in, they had a fireplace which was quite nice. The staff was dressed very appropriately, business attire. The residents chatted with the staff, and there was a lot of camaraderie which I really like. The staff knows the residents' names. The in-take person was very accommodating and very interested in what my aunt’s needs were. I just found it to be a very pleasant experience.

It is very nice. They have the pendants where you can call the staff and staff on-call. They have meals available, which are really good. I'm just really pleased with it for my mother-in-law. It is just a very good community.
