The rooms are well maintained and kept up to a high standard. Nursing staff is exceptionally well trained and very attractive. A member of the maintenance staff is always on in house to answer and maintain to every need. Any and all questions I had was answered in a very timely manner. The facility goes above and beyond my expectations. If you are looking for a safe and well maintained facility, staff and management that responds to your loved one's needs I highly recommend Lake Point of August, Kansas

We visited Lakepoint Augusta yesterday. They showed us the room, and it's a little apartment, but it's too small. It was very clean, very nice, and had a big recreation area and lunch room. Everyone seemed to be very nice. Our friend has been there for five to six years, and she loves it there. They even threw her a birthday party with cake and ice cream.

Nurse care is ok. They don't care about the well being of the resident. I due my mom's laundry, but the facility still takes socks, hangers and some clothes. They don't care about any directions you give about you loved one. They also don't replace any clothes that the employees take .

We chose Lakepoint Nursing Center for my mother because of the geographical area. It's close to family. The staff is very caring and dependable. The food is great. She has only been there about 30 days. Their private rooms are large and spacious. The staff is what makes that place.

My wife is currently at Lakepoint Nursing Center for rehab. It is really nice. Her room is large, but it is a shared room. There is a big curtain in between the two beds. She has plenty of room. I do not think I would like the idea of being in a room with somebody else, but she seems to be doing OK with it. It is nice, clean, and private. The food is good, and the service is good. She is receiving physical therapy. They have a big dining room where the residents can go.

Pros: Clean facility. Cons: Disappointed with the support the administration provided when trying to make a long term care decision for my mother. Case worker was not supportive, provided limited resources and offered little compassion for family going through placing a loved one in a long term care facility. Food was ok, but nothing great. Many times it arrived cold to my mother's room. Staff response time to call lights could be up to an hour. Limited activities during the day.

Staff was harried as the aides tried to provide service for residents. Food was burnt and inedible. My dad got a sinus infection that was going around and it turned to pneumonia. I found him sitting in a chair in wet underwear, unattended. He was slumped over, unable to lift his head or move hardly at all. He was confused, didn't know where he was and needed to go to hospital. Staff tried to prevent me from taking him. I finally exercised my POA. Their last words were to me were to tell me he would not be admitted to the hospital. He did get admitted and I will NEVER return to Lakepoint EVER! The neglect was horrible and their insistence that "it's only a little infection" was terrifying to me.

I like this nursing home. It is part of a continuum of care community in the rural city of Augusta. This is a person centered model of care delivery facility, which means it truly is all about choice! Residents are always up and dressed and plenty of activities are provided. There is a community room, beauty shop, movie theatre and even a bowling alley! It is always bustling. Food is very good. I like that there always seems to be plenty of staff and it is family friendly as well. It was deficiency free on state survey. Awesome!
