My dad was at Medicalodge Atchison for rehab. Right now, they're a little understaffed, which is common with a lot of them right now, with everything that's going on between COVID and so forth. But overall, they're doing a good job. It's clean and somewhat modern, although it's a little older facility. The staff has so far done a great job. He liked the food, they had a lot of options. I'm likely to recommend this place, and I think it's a good option.

My husband was in Medicalodge Atchison for a week, and I did not like it at all. Three days after I put him in, I tried to get him out. It was just a warehouse for people in wheelchairs. That's all I can say about it. The staff was all right, but there weren't enough of them and most of them couldn't answer my questions. I think he was just really overmedicated because he was just like in a coma, almost. And then he fell out of the wheelchair and hit his head right there in the nurses' station. They just put a bunch of people in wheelchairs in front of a TV. I got him home as soon as I could. I just couldn't stand being there. All I could do was sit there and cry. The only activities I saw were some kind of wheelchair arm and leg exercises. There was a group of people in the main lobby area that were in wheelchairs and they were doing this exercise thing. They would just take them from one place to another in wheelchairs and that was their day. The best person I encountered was Marcio. He did just about everything. He took my husband's lift chair from my house to there, and then from there back to my house when I got him back. He was a great help and just wonderful. The floors were falling apart. I just couldn't stand it. It was awful. I don't know what happened to them, but they needed all new flooring. In the bathroom in my husband's room, all the knobs needed replacing. They all looked like they were 50 years old and rusty or degenerated. It was not good.
