My husband is at Solon Nursing Care Center. He is diabetic, and so they call whenever his insulin level goes up or down, or they have to change his dosage. In terms of its physical appearance, I never smell anything bad when you walk in the door. It doesn't smell like a nursing home. The upkeep is pretty good. They have some exercise equipment. There's a courtyard, and there are chairs and things out there. The care is really good. My husband is happy there. He doesn't make a fuss about coming home. He is very content just to be there. The staff members are very good. We have meetings about every two months or something to go over how he is doing and things. The staff members are friendly. They call the patients by name. My husband says the food is OK.

The rooms are too small, if you need a wheelchair, a commode, and personal items to feel at home - that isn't happening! There is no compassion or kindness here - only people stressing over how the DON will fire them. I came here to enjoy the rest of my life comfortably - that isn't happening! The administration only cares about their job - they don't care about me or my needs. They did have good caring people recently, but they're no longer here because of the management. I would never bring someone to this place, where they lie about how good it is - until you get here. I see so many die, that were perfectly healthy - they just didn't get the care they needed here. Am I next?

It was a hard decision to place mom in a care facility, but we could not be happier in our choose. Mom walks assisted with a walker and has dementia. Mom is well cared for, always happy, her room is always clean, the bed made, she is always dressed and groomed when I visit. They encourage her to participate in activities. She loves the food. I can not say enough about how accommodating the staff is. They are all so nice and caring. I highly recommend the facility.

Mom received very good care at Solon Nursing Care Center. A lot of them were from Solon, which is a small town, and they were very caring and knew a lot of the people that are at the nursing home. Mom was on a pretty limited diet, but they were very good about finding stuff that she would eat. They had music and all the time for them, bands and stuff like that. They also have a garden patio for the residents.

The nurses and nursing assistants are very competent and caring. There are some problems with having enough staff to cover and when that happens, these employees work even harder, but there will be delays answering call lights for things like toileting help, daily living activities, daily living activities, and medication. Consistency in care also may change between shifts. They could use better administration to communicate with patients and families and build stronger care teams and quality services.

Solon Nursing Care Center has a good reputation and it's very close to where I live. The staff has been very caring to my aunt. They have plenty of activities for the residents to be involved as much as they want or as little as they want. My aunt is in a small room and her meals are provided. I have eaten there and I enjoyed the food.
