Royale Meadows is a nice care center with good employees. I only have one real complaint before I get into the things I like. The smell that is often associated with nursing homes comes and goes in this facility. Some days it's almost non-existent, other days it's pervasive. I know I didn't meet all of the nurses or the assistants, but most of the ones I met were nice and pleasant and my wife's grandmother(the resident) reported that she talked regularly with 2 of the nurses who were closing in on retirement themselves, so the socialness of the staff was good. The cleanliness from what I saw was good. It didn't have a lot of amenities, but they had a couple of pianos for people to play and two nice Tv's on opposite ends of a rec room, they also had a nice community area so walks were within line of sight and easy on the eyes. The beds and food seemed decent for the area and the price range I knew she had. While not a traditional amenity they do have a program where some of the residents tutor some elementary kids after school, this is a great program for both the residents and the students.Overall, it seemed nice, but the smell is a big detractor to me as I visited her a dozen times so far and 3 or 4 of those times the smell was strong. But, like I said, it's a great facility otherwise.
