I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Not a good place to let your loved on stay in. they seem to always be short staffed and if you click your button for someone to come, it can take upwards of 25 min. They live in their rooms all day everyday and never get to talk to anyone unless a friend or relative come to visit. I hated to leave my friend knowing how bad they are there, Don't let the beautiful outside fool you, it's bad inside.

The rooms are very nice. The facility is beautiful. The staff is not nice and I can't believe I'm going to say this but the Nuns are very rude.

The Kahl Home I feel provides the very best care available. When you are no longer able to continue caring for your loved one, the staff will assist you and believe me, they have the nessary equiptment to do a far better job than what can be done at home. They not only care for your loved one but provide emotional and physical support to the family as well.

Beautiful and clean facility with great food. Each and every member of the Kahl Home team – nursing, dietary, custodial, activities, office and physical therapy – treated my mom with the utmost of kindness, good humor, and at times, unlimited patience. I can never praise them enough.

This place looks great, smells great, and (for some unknown reason) has great reviews. I promise you, however, that the reality of the place is not great. I have little to no competence in the nursing staff (yes, I have a medical background), the office staff or therapy staff. They parked my father in a wheelchair, which he has never used, and refused him therapy because the therapy staff couldn't figure out how to take his pulse due to his arrhythmia. They actually sent him to the ER when there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. The ED doctor literally said "I have no idea why he is here." On top of that, by discharging him from therapy due to their own incompetence, they are guaranteeing that Medicare won't pay for the therapy he needs for 60 more days. I wouldn't board my dog here.

I visited this facility

Everything was excellent at Kahl Home. I thought it was really well-run. The rooms were spacious enough. They served good food in a nice dining room. They have arts and crafts, bingo, card games, exercise, chair aerobics, and physical therapy as some of their activities. The facility is very well-staffed. The ratio of patient to staff was low. They provide 24-hour care too.

I visited this facility

Kahl Home was being run by nuns. I talked to a nun and she took me on a tour and it was a brand new, huge and nice place. It looked like a hotel, however it was very expensive.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been in this facility for three years. I am very happy with the care she receives. I visit my mom daily. If I have a concern, the staff is eager to fix the problem. Her nurses are very caring and concerned about her health, safety, and happiness. Kahl Home offers many opportunities for social interaction. They have an excellent physical therapy department. She came in not walking and was able to walk again. At this time, mom is now confined to a wheelchair because of a stroke. The Kahl Home offers a restorative care exercise program daily. This program accommodates her needs. The staff is alert to indications that a patient might be depressed. They serve three meals a day with daily choices. Mom is usually pleased with the food. The Kahl Home is currently in the process of building a beautiful new facility which will probably open in June, 2012.
