My mom moved to Independence Village of Zionsville West. I liked the way the memory care was laid out. It seemed very approachable and comfortable, and it reminded me a lot of what my mom would like. Knowing her preferences, it felt right. I also connected, I think, with the director of memory care, and some of the people that I met, for some reason connected with them. They do an excellent job. It's very well kept, very clean, and tidy. I've been there twice now when they've cleaned her room. It's a lovely job. The facility is really beautiful. It just seems like a lot of care is going into keeping the surroundings safe and comfortable. So far, she's been very active. There's something to do every day or every afternoon. She can pick and choose what she wants. She's gone to karaoke. She's watched a comedy show. They've taken her to breakfast with the little group. They have a birthday party. They had a piano player/singer come in. She sat and watched that. They baked a kind of cookie one day. It's very active, and she gets to pick and choose what she feels like doing. So far, she's done all of those. I've eaten and I've been there when she had lunch and dinner a few times and she gobbles it down. She's a good eater, so I think there's plenty of choice for her, and she seems very pleased with having no problems adjusting to the food that they're offering. I've been very impressed with how caring they are and sweet, whether it's kind of a helper staff versus the directors. Everybody's been very approachable. They have been sending me pictures of her doing some fun things. They had dogs come in twice now. The director took pictures and I got pictures with Mom and dogs. I think they're staying very attentive to engage the families. So I'm very pleased with the staff. There are other places less expensive, and yet there are others more expensive, so I would say they're kind of in the middle-high.

There are several floor plans for Assisted Living and Independent Living. Food is very good with 2 dining rooms! The staff have been so friendly and helpful during my sister and her husband's move in. I can tell the residents are happy here.

I cannot recommend Independence Living of Zionsville West highly enough. After placing my parents in an independent living apartment last December, we recently had to transition my mom to the memory care unit and my dad to an assisted living unit. The staff made this challenging transition much smoother with their compassionate and professional assistance. The facility is clean, the food is excellent, and the staff seem incredibly kind and attentive. I am grateful for the support and care they provide my parents.

After some health issues, the family decided it was no longer feasible for my 95 yo father to live in his home. We decided to move him 2 hours north to be closer to me and my family. Independence Village was extremely helpful and accommodating with all the “move” coordination. My Dad has settled in well and was extremely pleased he was allowed to bring his cat! The wellness team and entire staff are very attentive and have been wonderful in meeting all his medical needs. He has enjoyed meeting new people and participating in a variety of activities offered. We would and have highly recommended Independence Village to other people.

We recently moved my father from an out of state independent living facility to an assisted living apartment at Independence Village Zionsville West to be closer to his children. Throughout the transition, the staff have been extremely helpful and accommodating, from the initial contact, to Dad being settled in and very happy. Larry provided multiple tours for me and other family members, was very helpful in choosing the perfect apartment, and worked with our rather complicated moving schedule. We were all impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the facility, and the friendliness of the staff and residents. I visit my father nearly every day, and all the staff members seem very focused on caring for the residents. The environment seems very safe and secure, and any issues that have arisen were quickly taken care of. The overall experience has been very positive, and I highly recommend this facility to anyone searching for this type of care for your loved one.

My mother was hospitalized for over a week, and after her release, I lived with her for five days, and then spent a month in and out almost every day. I have found the staff in all areas to be kind, professional, considerate, and truly interested in the well-being of their residents. The wellness team has been so helpful in keeping me informed and my mother healthy. IV of West Zionsville has truly been a blessing for me, knowing my mother is loved and respected.

My sister and I looked for a month to find a place to move our Mom. The moment we walked into Independence Village of Zionsville West we knew it was the place. It was bright, cheery, clean, and everyone on staff that we met was helpful. Now that Mom is living there I continue to be pleased. The staff works hard to help Mom feel comfortable. They are always there to answer any of my questions or concerns. Making the decision to move Mom into memory care was difficult, but this facility made the move so much easier.

Just moved my mom into independent living. After looking at several other options, as soon as my mom visited, she immediately chose Independence Village of Zionsville West. The facility is bright, cheery and impeccably kept. The apartments are very roomy and well laid out. And the staff are excellent. My brother, sister and I are so thankful knowing our mom is happy and being well cared for and will be able to transition directly to assisted living on site if/when the need ever arises.

Our family is very pleased with Independence Village West. We are a bit disappointed with employees turnover but the employees are always friendly and upbeat and very helpful and respectful. We are very happy to be able to order other stuff that is not on the menu as my mom wants more variety We are also super pleased with the amount and variety of activities. Even though my mom is not attending the boating activities and things like that are wonderful for the residents.

Newer facilities & walkable to shopping are big pluses! Very kind & caring staff. One perceived negative had been the relative high level of staff turnover in the 2+ years my mother has been a resident. In spite of the staff turnover, my mother has often commented that “I’m at a good place”. My mother enjoys the communion service offered by the local Catholic Church & attending entertainment events, , as well Bingo!

The staff goes above & beyond to keep my mom happy and safe. They help her with tasks ranging from changing a lightbulb, connecting to Wi-Fi, and even Jim has come to help clean up unexpected spills! The staff is friendly, professional, and really gets to know each resident. The food is also terrific, chef Dan is very talented and mom enjoys his creative, well executed dishes. Mom’s apartment is pleasant, w/a balcony, quartz countertops, & nice appliances. The decor is classy & understated, and the fireplace & floral arrangements create a warm, cozy environment. Everything is clean & tidy. I’m very impressed and thankful!

Independence Village of West Zionville has proven to be a wonderful place my mom calls home. The apartments are lovely, and they have a wide assortment of floor plans and sizes to accommodate your loved ones needs. The health care staff has been great. They show a genuine love for my mom. The entire staff takes the time to get to know Mom, and they do the same with me as her family member who visits and knows her best. They have a chef who is wonderful! During dining time, he comes out to make sure everything is good. He has also taken special requests from my mom and follows through. That makes my mom feel loved. It also makes her very happy. Jim is the Executive Director of the entire building. I watch him interacting with residents and their families all the time. He’s very approachable and helpful. From the time I walk in, and I’m greeted by a smile and warm, “Hello Diane,” from Debra at the front desk until my departure, I feel like I’m with friends and family. When there’s an occasional issue, everyone is quick to address the problem. That gives me confidence knowing my mom is well cared for. I recommend Independence Village without hesitation. You will be happy you made this your choice for your loved one!

Initially it was a quite an adjustment leaving our home to come to a senior living facility. We have come to love our apartment and also all the activities offered by the Life Enrichment team. The staff is tremendous at anticipating our needs. Hobbies that we like are made available to us. As a gardener I have the opportunity to garden indoors and out . We do outings frequently and transportation is provided for medical and shopping. Social occasions offers frequent interaction with other the residents. All in all we are very happy at Independence Village West .

I have been a resident of this facility for 2.5 years and like living here very much. I’ m fortunate to still drive, and free parking is very convenient. A Meijer retail store is easy walking distance, and almost any kind of restaurant or service can be reached nearby with a few minutes drive at 30 MPH. Fellow residents soon become extended family, and the staff is caring and attentive. I am thankful to be living in this lovely place.

The facility is beautiful. It reminds one of a resort. The rooms are spacious and well arranged. The bathroom is a nice size and easily accessible. The staff is pleasant and always helpful. The posted activities seem so nicely planned. I wish my mother would participate in more of them.

Writing reviews for assisted living is difficult. You have to remember you’re dealing with humans, and no one is perfect. They have ups and downs. I will say that overall the ups far outweigh the downs at IVoWZ. My dad lived in their memory care for almost a year before he passed away from Alzheimer’s. It was during the height of the pandemic. I feel that Independence did a fantastic job caring for him and keeping us connected. When my dad was transitioning, they allowed me to be by his side. I will be forever grateful. My mom is currently in assisted living. She gets great care, and I’m very involved. On the occasion there is an issue, I call and talk to the appropriate person in charge, and the issue is resolved. Again, I feel that’s what is important. Can issues be addressed and resolved. Things don’t come up very often. I can usually take care of the issues my 87 year old mother is requiring! The facility is clean and beautiful! I love the staff. I have a great relationship with so many of the nurses and aides. You will get to know them by name and they will know you by name. They become extended family. There are all kinds of activities and outings too. It’s really a busy place! The food was on a down, but they are correcting that. That’s an example of management listening. I’m giving three stars for food because they’re still working on it and I haven’t tried it since the new chef has started. My mom seems to be happy again though. Staff gets a four ONLY because of agency. That happens occasionally now, but there was a time that it was the norm.

The facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly. They seem to care very much about the residents and making sure they are satisfied. The rooms are a good size and serve the resident’s needs well. The staff is always helpful and takes great care in getting any issues resolved. My Mom enjoys the Bingo and other activities. The facility does offer other amenities like movies and outings.

Beautiful facility. Weekly entertainment is great! Nice exercise room. Mom likes to ride the bike with a little help. She enjoys bingo and bible study. Nice to have the salon there too. Would like staff to be more consistent. There is a lot of turnover of supportive staff but that seems to be a problem at most Assisted Livings since the pandemic. Overall it has been a positive experience!

Clean facility! Very friendly and helpful staff. Front desk staff members are absolutely the best! Location is perfect - very close to restaurants and medical facilities, so mom can easily access her doctors. She is also right across the street from Meijer and close to an Amazon hub, so purchases and deliveries are a snap! There are lots of activities for residents; however my mother generally doesn’t attend many due to her advanced hearing loss. I’d would like to see more services geared toward residents with such impairments. (And I have ideas!) Dining room food is good and service staff is very attentive. People make a place, not simply the building or available offerings. My mom’s room is well designed and serves her quite well. She likes the full kitchen allowing her to cook when and if she desires - and she is an excellent cook! Staff is very attentive to her needs and that gives me peace of mind. The facility often has special events, like Christmas lunch, Easter lunch, Mother’s Day/Father’s Day dinners, Octoberfest and other ad hoc celebrations to spice up the routine weeks. All-in-all, a great place. Check it out!

The rooms are very nice and very modern, updated and the resident can make them feel like home. The staff is very nice and welcoming to the residents. The decor in all areas is beautiful, like being in a resort. They have so many different activities for the residents from crafts to card games, Bingo and outings. Very resident focused.

We moved my mom in here on very short notice. The staff has been wonderful with the move in process and adjustments to the assisted living lifestyle. They have beautiful modern rooms with high ceilings. It really makes you feel like your in a bigger space than you are. The whole building is modern and elegant. It is one of the nicest looking Assisted livings that I have been in. Caring staff that goes above and beyond. Wonderful reception desk workers that care. This location is close to great shopping and restaurants as well as the highway for quick and easy access. They even have a Cracker Barrel near by. Easy grocery delivery and food delivery by the big named food delivery and grocery companies. They have great activities and even ones for the whole family. We especially enjoyed the petting zoo that came. Hands down do not regret this choice. In house food can vary but they have a good menu to chose from.

I highly recommend Independence Village of West Zionsville for your loved one. All the staff from the food service workers to the director of the facility are friendly, caring, and helpful to all residents and visitors. I am kept well informed through care meetings, phone calls, and personal interactions of my mother’s progress and needs. The facility is gorgeous with amenities such as a movie theater, greenhouse, library, dining room & a bistro, exercise/therapy room, salon, and much more. Many different daily activities are offered and planned by the activities director. The facility offers a variety of spacious floor plans. Apartments are designed with large closets, washer/dryers , spacious bathrooms, and large windows. It is very comforting to know my mother is at a place where she is loved and cared for.

My parents moved into the Independence Village of Zionsville West. It was close to my house. Everyone who works there, whether it be people in the front office sales, the financial woman, the front desk concierge, nursing, housekeeping, maintenance, everybody there is involved with caring for the residents. They are all involved and care about, or caring for my parents. It's pretty much brand new, it's only been there about two and a half to three years, so everything is brand new still. It's very tastefully decorated. It's comfortable but more modern looking. They have all of the amenities there. It's just a nice place. They have a gym, they have computers and internet access for residents. They have little bistro/snack bars. They have a library, a lot of different common areas, sitting areas in addition to the big common areas. I would live there in a heartbeat. They have a chef, and I know all of the staff there rave about her cooking. The activities director is very involved, gets people involved, and plans a lot of fun things.
