My mom lived at StoryPoint for more than 3 years. It is a community of caring professionals and friendly residents. With three different levels of care available (independent, assisted or memory care) my mom moved into independent living. A gorgeous 2 BR/2BA apartment with a balcony overlooking gardens and corn fields. As her health needs changed, so did the care she received. She made friends and participated in lots of activities, from regular hair salon visits to bingo to Thirsty Thursday and movies in the theater. On site physical therapy kept her moving. She played cards & Rummikube in the game room and had a regular group to have meals with. We finally convinced her to relocate to assisted living (just down the hall) but her health declined and she was unable to occupy her beautiful new apartment. Executive Director was outstanding… compassionate and kind as we navigated her health challenges. I’d highly recommend StoryPoint for any senior looking for a great place to call home with services and amenities that support a senior lifestyle.

Storypoints is a wonderful place for your loved one. The Administrative staff is very responsive to questions and concerns. They respond promptly. On the independent living side rooms are spacious and well kept. On the assisted living side the rooms are a little smaller and again very well kept by the staff. The nursing staff is kind and caring and responsive to questions. The culinary department does an excellent job. They have daily specials and an everyday menu that has multiple choices. Activities are engaging and entertaining and you’ll know the staff by name in no time. We are on our third year and couldn’t be happier with our choice!

My mother moved into Clarendale in August 2023. This place was home to her the very first time she walked in. There is a cute little cafe, craft room, game room, fine dining and many other amenities. The people are very helpful there even when you are in independent living. My mother has developed alot of friendships here. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because when Stórypoint took over there were a lot of changes including increase in rent. There were also changes with the chefs and maintenance people that have since left. I believe due to these changes that my mom had to look for another place. In all I believe it is a very nice place to stay but a little on the expensive side especially for people that are on a fixed income. My mother will be visiting but will have to say her goodbyes on October 11th to move into her new apartment and her next adventure

It was a stressful time: doing the research, making decisions, writing the check, etc. The staff were very reassuring and helped lead me through the process. I appreciate how Dawn set up the introductions, Amina for being patient, and Erin for helping me figure out a healthcare plan. I found the facility nicely maintained, cheerful, not too busy, and quiet in the living areas. Compared to other facilities, the price hit a sweet spot that I could live with.

I've been living in StoryPoint Schererville for three years now. What I like best is that the environment is very friendly. I've got more friends here than I had when I left my home back east. Another thing I like about it is that I feel very safe here. There are always scheduled and resident-initiated activities. There are games, crafts, and scheduled outings. Today, we went to the Dollar Tree. Tomorrow, they're going to a restaurant. And they're going to a farmer's market on Sunday. We have a van or a bus that's wheelchair- and walker-accessible. Every day of the week, something is going on. We even go to the casino. There are always snacks. We have a wine tasting. Once a week, we have live entertainment and an open bar. Someone downstairs is baking cookies in our bistro to set up for the residents. Plus, we have in the dining room, a three-meal service. On average, I'm very pleased with the food. I have a full kitchen in my apartment, and I do some cooking too. Our housekeeping staff is amazing. It's competitively priced. It's exorbitantly high by my standards. But by community standards and national standards, it's right on target. They are working very hard to make everything right. They could probably hire more maintenance and housekeeping staff because their housekeeping and maintenance staff are overworked. I'm very happy here. I've got a lovely two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with a balcony and lots of square footage. I'm very comfortable here.

I toured StoryPoint Schererville. They have good activities. Very friendly accommodations. Everything was perfect, except that the rooms were too small. The one-bedroom rooms are very small. The staff is excellent.

It is a very beautiful facility. They had a lot of amenities. The staff was nice. The place was great. The hospitality there was wonderful. The way they did the tour was really nice and very impressive. Their apartments were beautiful. Everything was very nice, and that's where I want to go. They had a card room where they play cards. They had a game room and a craft room. They had all kinds of rooms where you can go to. They had live music on Thursdays. They had a bar area there. They had rooms that they could use for parties. They had assisted living dining area and an independent care dining area. It was separate, but it was beautiful. They also had like a little cafe area where you could sit and get your coffee. It was like a French café; it was nice. The staff were excellent. What I thought was neat is that they got a little bag with the name of the place, and it had a warm loaf of bread. I haven't seen that before; that was a very nice touch. The place was very, very impressive. It's set up nicely. It felt like you were in a luxury hotel.

The independent living apartment was absolutely beautiful. Everybody I ran into was very friendly and very nice. They seemed to have a lot of activities. They have card games, cocktail hours, a gym with some equipment, and activities off-site. It was really pretty nice. They even gave me a loaf of homemade bread to take home with me. It was a very nice place. If I needed to go to a place right now, that place would be very, very high on my list.

We will be moving here. I like the people and the staff. The place is clean, and the amenities were good. They have a garage, a movie theater, and a restaurant bistro. They have haircutting and nail polishing. The residents were all happy. There's a lot of activities and games, but we didn't play them. We just took the tour.

I went here to visit people. They have a very friendly staff that I met in the dining room with the couple that I visited. The food was wonderful, and I was impressed. I was not there for a long time, but I felt very nice for the time that I was there. My friend's husband was in the memory care unit there, but I went to her apartment in the independent living. I was there strictly to visit with them, the council, and then eat with them. It was purely social. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. I found the place to be very neat and clean.

We visited here. It was very, very beautiful, very nice, the apartment was nice. All the stuff that comes with it was more than we expected. They had the exercise room and it's two different kinds of rooms for the exercise, and an activity room, but it has a little bar in it and a pool table. That room was nice for socializing. The young lady that gave us the tour was very nice, very knowledgeable, and was thorough in everything. When we walked in, they greeted us and she was on another tour. So we waited, but they were very nice, offered us lemonade or coffee or something, so that was nice. The staff was very nice. They have like, I guess it was a barista little place right there that they talked about, that was nice. The appearance was clean, very pretty, very appetizing for what I saw. I think one of my daughters had some lemonade or something, so that was fine. They offered transportation within a 12-mile radius, and even if I don't live 12 miles from the place, they could bring her to me and drop her off and pick her up. I thought that was something I hadn't heard of.

It is a wonderful place. The people are very nice there and my friend is treated like a queen; whatever she wants she gets. It's very safe, and the food is really good. This place has done everything they could to make her comfortable. What stood out to me is the place itself and all the people who work there. I've never seen a nicer group of people that's as interested in doing their jobs as well as these people. Any time that you need them, anything you have an issue with or anything that comes up, they take care of it right away. They have a hair salon there which she likes to go to, they have activities to do and they have a crafts room where they do crafts. The other day they had kids come in so the elderly people could hand out Halloween candy for them. They also have movie nights, there's an actual barn in the community, where on Thursday nights they have cowboy stuff, dancing, and drink alcohol. It's almost as close to heaven as you can get without being there. They do all her laundry, bathe her, and provide all her medication, they also bring her up and down when she needs help for dining. She has a button that she wears around her neck, and when she needs anything she hits the button and they're there in just a couple of minutes for anything she may need. They go out periodically to Walgreens and restaurants. For her it's about the perfect place. The food is fantastic, they have their own private chef there and he's very conscious of what they can and can't eat. I have eaten there a couple of times myself and every meal has been fantastic. The cleanliness is top notch, and everything is immaculate. I looked around in other places a little bit, and I found nothing like it. You assume that when you first go there this is the first thing that they want you to see, but she's been there now quite a while and this is just how they are. It's not just a show that they put on to get people to come there; they're actually fantastic the whole time.

My father moved here. The people are very friendly, it's very clean, and it's a very nice place for him to be. The staff is very friendly and very nice. He's in 1-bedroom, they have two exercise rooms, two lounge rooms, a TV theater room, a salon, and a game room.
