The rooms were spacious, clean and the staff at Deer Creek were exceptionally caring. Everyone at Deercreek went out of their way to keep us informed about every aspect of our Dads condition and we felt he was as close to family as we could get for him. I highly recommend Deercreek. They truely did make a hard and sad situation better for us all!

The staff is wonderful. They are caring, attentive and responsive to resident needs. For me, this was the most important consideration in choosing a care facility for my husband.

My sisters was a resident there. We could not have asked for better care, services or kind hearted people. The food was amazing especially after she had been in the hospital for weeks. Her first comment after eating the chef's breakfast was, can I have more! music to our ears! Every single department contributed to the amazing experience. The room was very clean, staff extremely patient and caring.

I wasn't impressed with Residences at Deer Creek. The person who was assigned to take you around acted like we were bothering him. He had a very bad attitude. We had an appointment, and he called and said, 'I have to cancel with you because I have somebody else who wants to see it.' And he was rude, so I had a negative feeling about that because of him. The staff members seemed friendly. The facility was clean. They had a lot of activities. I know they're busy with the food service because they have to feed the people three times a day. And if you don't like the meal that they're serving for the day, they have a menu that you can pick things from.

The staff was excellent assisting me with information and guidance from my first phone call. The Director of Sales was responsive, knowledgeable, and compassionate during the entire process. The Head of Nursing and the Facility Director both made themselves available and gave much needed help, support, and expertise in a very trying time. The staff is friendly and pleasant from the moment you walk through the door. The Memory Care nurses, CNAs, maintenance, housekeeping and food service is top notch. I feel confident and at peace knowing my dad is being well cared for at Deer Creek.

The best thing that I liked about Residences At Deer Creek was the fact that you got to pick the level of care that your person needed. I didn't see any downsides to the place whatsoever. They were knowledgeable, well-organized, and they had plenty of things for seniors to do. The place was very clean, well-kept, and well-maintained. The menu was really good. The whole place was phenomenal. The apartments were great. There was just enough room, but not too much room. They have an exercise room, a theater, and a library. I liked that on every floor, everywhere you turn, there were snacks available for the residents to grab. No charge and I thought that was nice.

My father will be moving into Residences at Deer Creek. I was impressed by the concern of the staff, the time that they take on the tour and the questions that they answered. The executive director came out to introduce herself and offered her information and help with anything that was needed. The longevity of the staff also played a role in our decision. It was not an overwhelming environment. It was very friendly. People were kind and considerate. The grounds were quite lovely. It's mid-sized, well-groomed, welcoming, and feels like home. I haven't sampled the food. I was most impressed that the dining area or their restaurant is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It's not like a cafeteria style. It feels more like a community. The availability of that kind of dining was very impressive to us as a family. Their chef has been with them almost as long as they've been open, so, again, longevity with the chef. The menu is changed seasonally. It is operated as if it's their own restaurant right there and it stays open all day and I didn't see that anywhere else. They were welcoming. I went back several times and they answered my questions. Their marketing director was not pushy but was open and available. If I had questions and wanted to see the available room again, they would take me right up to see it. It was very nice. When I got to Deer Creek, I kind of knew that this was what I was looking for. They have a good reputation even with elder care lawyers. It was recommended to us by another facility.

Their memory care at Residences at Deer Creek is very nice, I can't have any negative comments on it. It seemed like all the residents were well cared for. I was very satisfied with what I have seen there. The staff was very friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable. They had a bistro and a hair salon. Memory care is not like assisted living and stuff, where all the residents can use it, someone would have to assist them to be able to use any of these amenities, because they have locked doors. I didn't see the dining area, the one for the other residents, but the one for the memory care was on the smaller side. They have fewer residents. It felt homey. They have a whole calendar set up, but I didn't review that at that time.

My mom has moved to Residences at Deer Creek. We chose them because they've got the highest ratings in Indiana over the last few years. It's very clean, has very nice facilities and the staff is fantastic. Her room is very nice, it's a studio apartment. They have things going on every day, there's breakfast, lunch, and dinner, they also have physical therapy that comes right there. They've got a full restaurant, 4-Star or 5-Star restaurant on site. It has also assisted living on the other half of the building. It's a very nice place. The food is fantastic. It's easily located right off of U.S. 30, just west of Route 41. The staff is very caring, very helpful, and they're very attentive to everything that's going on with my mom. It's a little more expensive than other places but they have a lot more to offer.

Residences at Deer Creek seem more spacious than the other place we toured. That was my only concern, that my mom would seem to have to walk around a lot of places, but they had nurses' stations on the floors which were nice. The staff member who showed me around was very good. It seems laid out in a way that it's spread out, more theater versus more compact. It's more like a square, and it seemed Deer Creek was spread out in a straight line, kind of. The residents can do their laundry and they had restaurant-style dining. The dining looked really good, and we just couldn't sample what they had because of protocols for COVID. They had activities and different things like bingo, puzzles, and activities on each floor. It seemed they had a puzzle being worked on one floor, and some crafts. They seemed very well-organized, and they had movie nights and different things.

My mom moved into Residences at Deer Creek assisted living. She's really happy there, everybody's been friendly and helpful, even with the move and everything. They're there for everything. They check on her, see if she needs anything. They take her down to the dining room and if she wants to eat in her room, she can eat in her room. It seems like there's a lot of people just there helping and trying to make sure that she has a good experience and everything that she wants to do. She went to bingo the first day. Everybody is very polite and helpful. Even the days that I've been there setting up to move in, getting my mom ready, and putting some things together, they've been there to help with the whole thing. I mean, they've helped me with anything that I needed. It's assisted living. The apartment could be furnished however you want to. She's got a 1-bedroom and I think she was happy about that. They have studios and 1-bedrooms. Her bedroom is nice and big and it enters right directly into the bathroom from the bedroom. It's a big bathroom and no step-in shower. It's got a seat in there and there's no ledge or anything. It's set up very well. She's got a living room area, kitchenette area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The kitchen and the living area are combined but there's plenty of room for her and enough room to have the stuff that she had that she enjoys. They have a rehab department and they got a big rehab room. They played bingo and different games. They have a craft area where they can do different crafts and they have somebody coordinate that. I haven't seen it, but I know they even put out a menu for the restaurant daily so that the residents know what the special for the day is. My mom went down and ate at the dinner table yesterday for dinner and she had codfish and shrimp. They have a chef there and the food is pretty good. I had a little bit of breakfast today and it was like you would get in a restaurant. It was good quality. I guess they also make omelets and Belgian waffles. I think they set up a big thing for breakfast down there. They even said you can put strawberries on the waffles. It's fine dining, really and it's pretty attractive. I thought it was really neat. When you walk in the front door, there is the reception area and it's a big lobby. Off to the left is a bistro there and then ahead is this big dining room. There are nice tables where you can sit in a nice big area. Everything is invoiced at the end of the month, which I thought was very nice. If somebody wants to go on dinner with someone, they just go and it gets invoiced. She's pretty happy there. She was nervous at first because she didn't know what to expect. She was just really impressed when she walked into that place. She couldn't believe that it's that impressive.

We really like Residences at Deer Creek. They have a nice facility. They have a lot of options for the residents in terms of what to eat. It is restaurant-style dining, so they can order what they want. They have a lot of great activities and outdoor meeting places, which I really like. One of the things that I really like the most would be the different community spaces. I also really like that they have a big library with tons of books and puzzles. The residents can check out them out and bring to their rooms. I like the fact that they are allowing them to take them out to their rooms.

Residences at Deer Creek is very nice. The room is everything you'd expect, and it's very clean, very nice, and very cheerful. The person who accommodated me was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Things are not fully open because of COVID. They gave us a couple samples of pie and they was very good, but I can't comment on what their food is like. Their residents there seem to enjoy everything. They have all the amenities, they have activities like exercise classes. It's like full range, they have everything. This is my first choice, but it's also very expensive.

We went to Residences at Deer Creek for my mother and looked at the independent living. It was OK. I saw the room virtually, so I couldn't get a clear picture. I was actually at the facility, but I couldn't go upstairs to see the room. I saw the main floor, the office, and the perimeter of the building. It was clean, nice, and the staff was pleasant. They gave me a piece of cake and that was good. They were playing bingo at that time.

The tour at Residences at Deer Creek was very good. The community is very nice, clean, and seemed to be well run. It was quiet when we were there, and the employees and residents we interacted with seemed friendly. The staff member who showed us around was knowledgeable and friendly. We had a calendar of activities, we looked at the activity rooms, and the dining room we saw was open, clean, and felt comfortable.

Our experience has been one of great satisfaction! Our mom is safe and watched over carefully and thoughtfully. She is always invited to be included in all activities and the Staff in ALL areas of the building are wonderful. When any issue has arisen it is addressed immediately and with respect for all parties involved.

Food and service are very good and 99% of staff is kind, patient and caring. The studio is nice size with kitchen sink, cabinets, fridge and microwave. Nice bathroom with walk in shower. They have a nice variety of outings as well as activities but is is difficult to fight stereotypical bingo, etc. The grounds are nicely kept. This is far better than the facility my parents had been living in. Moving was hard but well worth it.

A very nice facility with many wonderful RN's and Aides. Since Mom has dementia, the Memory facility gives us peace of mind that she is in a safe environment and is taken care of 24/7. Her room is very spacious and the private attached bathroom gives her the privacy of her own area in which to get a shower. Staff know her by name and are always talking to her. Mom loves when Music is brought in (Either piano or guitar). Sometimes they even bring in a dog that she get to pet. Another advantage is that her room has its' own temperature setting, cuz Mom is Always Cold.

Staff is caring and have good intentions. I think nurses and aids are overwhelmed with the current population of residents. Communication among the staff and staff communicating with family leaves something to be desired. Not good follow thru with hearing aids and their care. Rooms are adequate but not always cleaned as promised. Lots of activities provided by staff and other community volunteers.

My mother is now a resident at Residences at Deer Creek and the people there are very good. They're more than attentive and they're doing what they said they were going to do. My mother thinks they don't have enough staff members, but I think that comes with the territory in terms of assisted living places. She's in the independent living there but she's also getting extra assistance. Her room is wonderful, and the staff members are very nice even though they put up with a lot. The food is wonderful, the dining area is welcoming, and the dining staff is very attentive. The quality of the food and what they provide for the residents is absolutely wonderful. It's the first time my mother has gone anywhere that she didn't complain about the food. She goes to play bingo and watch movies, and she likes participating when they do balloon volleyball and things like that. She's doing physical therapy and they're working with her, so that's perfect. They have a lot of activities. My mother can't deal with them right now due to her condition, but she's looking forward to it.

I lived 400 miles from the facility but my brother and sister live local and had full responsibility for the care of our Dad. This was the 3rd place our Dad was at and, after several years, it proved to be the best hands down! The only hard part for me was trying to get through to my Dad on the phone. In the end when he could no longer hold the phone, and I did get through, a care giver was kind enough to hold it to his ear while we talked. The staff were constantly busy keeping to the schedule and I never saw a frown on any face.

My father was a memory care resident at RODC for 3.5 years until he recently passed away late summer 2018. This was the 3rd facility he was in during the last 8 years, & by far the best. The care & concern of the director Karen, & all of the nursing, aide, & dietary staff members was nothing short of exceptional from day one. They showed him lots of personal attention & love. Plenty of activities, incl. church services were available. Any concerns during his stay, incl. dietary were always addressed promptly & professionally. RODC is also competitively priced. I highly recommend RODC for memory care. I also had opportunity during his stay to observe the assisted living & would recommend it as well.

Both of my parents lived here. I was very pleased with everything. Mom and Dad were well looked after and I always got a call if anything was going on. Their apartment was comfortable and the bathroom quite large. I had lunch or dinner with them often and found the food and service as good as any restaurant. The staff was very responsive and helpful. Any time I had a problem, it was solved very quickly. There were lots of activities and entertainment brought in regularly. The hair salon was awesome and mom was always pleased. I always felt like family there and made many friends with staff and residents alike.

Since the first day that our mom moved into Residences at Deer Creek we knew that she was safe and in the company of a very knowledgeable, caring staff. Everyone from the front office, nurses, maintenance, aides, dining room and cleaning staffs have been very kind and considerate. Not only to the residents, but also to the visitors. We researched and visited numerous, similar facilities around the region and none compared with Deer Creek. There are many activities, entertainment and just friendly conversation to brighten her day. She loves the food that is served in the award winning dining room and the fact that the doctor and podiatrist visit her right in her apartment. Her other favorite feature is having a beauty salon in the facility. Thank you for everything you do. You are the best.

The Residences was my favorite, and I would put my mom there. It had a lot of nice activities, the staff was super friendly, and it had a very nice setting. I liked how they combined the independent living with the assisted living. As you have more needs, you can stay in the same room, and you can get more care.

My dad as lived in assisted living at Deer Creek for 6 months. He is VERY happy here. And we, his children, are are also quite pleased with everyone and everything that DC represents. Having been through the nursing home experience with my mother, I was a bit skeptical of any facility. Well, Deer Creek quickly changed my mind. I can't say enough good things about them and that's the honest truth. When people ask my father what he thinks about living here, the first thing he says is how wonderful the staff is and provides examples, and I can attest to this. I visit for a couple of hours at a time 3-4 times per week. The ENTIRE staff is RESPECTFUL, friendly, kind, caring and professional. AND helpful; I haven't observed staff or visitors running the other direction when a resident is in need of some help. The nurses and CNAs are the very best. They provide me with peace of mind knowing my dad is under their care. Staff is consistently pleasant and upbeat! So far, I haven't detected when staff is having a bad day--really. The maintenance staff are awesome, too! They have made some modifications to my father's apartment to better meet his needs, for example, added an extra grab bar in the bathroom as well as removed the lamp shades in his bathroom so the light would be brighter. I've eaten many meals at DC; the food is exceptional and my father thinks so as well. One of the meals he looks forward to is having a bowl of their homemade soup everyday. The desserts are out of this world. My father's apartment is clean, the garbage cans are emptied twice a day, bed linens and clothing are washed per his schedule. He is bathed twice a week as well. He gets his hair and fingernails cut at the DC salon, which is a huge help to me. As my father tells everyone who asks, "There is always something to do, if you want to do it". There are activities planned throughout the day, 7 days per week (the activity schedule is actually followed). He's into music and has praised the musical performances of those who have entertained them to date. The family nights are fun and something our family enjoys participating in. My father and I have developed a fond affection for the staff and residents at Deer Creek. I hope you come for a visit and experience the same things.

My dad has been at Deer Creek for three months in the memory support wing. It is the best thing we have done for him. The staff have been so welcoming and supportive. It was difficult to kale this decision but they were so helpful and compassionate, and continue to be so. The activities are wonderful and led by great people. Dad has rallied at Deer Creek due to the excellent care, great food, and all the activities and interaction with other people. We are so very pleased. It is a blessing.

We moved our mom into Deer Creek. The experience has been good. One of the reason I picked them is because they are very close to our house, so it is easy for me to go visit my mom whenever I want. It is a happy atmosphere. It is open, and visitors can come and go. They keep track of the people that stay there. They have lots of social programs. The food is good. It is nice. The have bingo and exercise multiple times during the day. They have dances and people that come over and sing for them. They have entertainments. They have gardens and outside field trips. Every Thursday, they have a bus that takes everyone to the store. I ate there couple of times, and the food is very good. They have a special for the day that changes every day. They also have a menu where they have about 6 to 8 dishes that are the same for the whole month, and those are the entrees. They have another page of sandwiches you can pick from and another page of different salads. They can eat anything that they want, as much as they want, between 7 in the morning until 7 at night.

It may look nice but the memory care unit staff is lacking in communication skills and common sense. For the amount of money paid monthly, you shouldn't have to constantly follow up to make sure the staff does what they should. Unimpressed with the management and their ability to address the family's concerns.
Provider Response
We are saddened you feel that we have fallen short of your expectations. We have a very successful open door policy to address such concerns and meet with our families regularly. Our goal is to provide the best quality of care for our residents. We are very proud of the hardworking, dedicated staff who are with our residents every step of their memory impairment journey.

Residences at Deer Creek is a new facility. The rooms are nice and clean. The light is good. However, they do not furnish their apartments, and you have to bring your own furniture. Also, they don't have a kitchen. They have a dining area, where they have a wait staff that will bring your meals to you. You have a menu for the meal, and you choose an entrée, a side, and a dessert. All of that is included in the cost.
