Brookdale Richmond was great. I needed someone to push my wheelchair around, and that was no problem. They took care of me and we went all over the place, saw everything, and talked to numerous people who are caregivers. It was a great experience. The staff was very good. The rooms were very nice. There's one lady that teaches a lot of crafts. There was a room where you could go in and play cards. Overall, I thought just socializing with people would be great. They gave me very good cookies. Their dining area was what I expected. It was roomy and had four people at a table. I need a low-sodium diet and they told me they could take care of that.

I went to Brookdale Richmond. The tour was fine. What I like least about it is it had a nursing home feel, not an assisted living feel. I would not choose to go there. I only met the person that gave me the tour, and she was very nice, very enthusiastic, and wanted to help. She's called me several times since my tour. The only activity I saw was, there was a group of people playing dominoes. The rooms were nice but very small.

My mom and I visited Brookdale Richmond for my mom's grandmother. The place was clean. They had very friendly people and friendly staff. We did not get to tour much. We just sat in one room and looked at a room. The person who did the tour was the director.

The people that showed us around Brookdale Richmond were very sweet and very nice. They've contacted us several times since we visited to see if there's anything they can do. The rooms were very nice, but small for assisted living. For a single person it would be wonderful, but for two people it's tight quarters. The room had a little kitchenette, with a small refrigerator, microwave, and little cabinets. It also had a small bedroom and a small living area. We were pressed for time so we didn't get to try the food. They informed us of all their activities and the types of things that they do. However, we didn't see any activities because we visited right when supper was ending and people were going back to their rooms. They have a bus and they take the residents on shopping trips, they have a game room, they play bingo, and do other things.

We liked Brookdale Richmond a lot. They have private rooms with reasonable square footage and outdoor patios. They serve three meals a day and snacks. The dining room was very nice. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

The facilities at Brookdale Richmond were excellent. The community was very close to where my mom lives now. They were very helpful. The rooms were very nice, and the food that they offered was excellent. They had buses that could take the residents places and had all kinds of things going on at the building, like a picnic and a cookout. One time we went, they had the people in the surrounding area bring their dogs so all of the residents could watch them perform, which was fun.

I didn’t like Brookdale Richmond because all of the doors were locked, the rooms were entirely too little and too old, and the staff was disorganized. I saw that they had exercise classes going on and house cleaning and everything, but it did not feel warm. There were patios off of the living areas, but the rooms were really little. It was an excellent place if you need a secure place. They had outings with the residents and a cute little dining room. It was an older facility, and I don’t know why their door was locked. Maybe it was for memory care, but we never got that far, so I don’t know.

Brookdale Richmond is the only place that I looked at, but I think I would go there if I decided to give up my home. There were four different sizes of rooms, and they looked really nice. The staff was very accommodating and showed me around all the rooms. They have cafeteria type meals, and you can also order from a menu. Overall, it was good. They seemed to have a choice of the things you want in room size, and the meal selection seemed to be good.

They're very nice at Sterling House of Richmond. We like this facility. There is a place like a common area where they can go down and sit down by a fireplace. There is one where they could watch television. They have a little bus if they want to go somewhere, but my parents don't use that. My father still has his car there. Overall, my parents really like this place. The food is good. They like the people. They're friendly. As much the time as I have been there, they have been really helpful. I'm very glad my parents are there because there is somebody there to take care of them if something would happen to them. I was worried about my parents' safety.

My Great Grandmother lived here until her death in January 2011. They specialize in caring for residents with around the clock needs. The care is excellent and highly recommended. One of the benefits is that the community is small, which means that residents get personalized care and attention. My grandma was also more comfortable because it felt like more of a family. My family and I always felt my grandma was safe as well. They had great security. No one was aloud on the grounds without first being checked in as a visitor. They are not simply a number here. Living areas are comfortable, clean and secure with plenty of activities for residents. One area that needs improvement is their food. The food menu and chef services could use some changes. Some items on the menu never seemed to be available, while others were just bland tasting. Overall, this is a good community for those with special needs.

I was visiting different Assisted Living Facilities in the local area and I stopped at a place that was closest to where I currently live. The Sterling House of Richmond had a staff that as far as I have seen is nothing less than professional. They asked what question I had and answered it in a way that made me feel comfortable. My grandmother, who was the reason we were looking for a facility, had a friend that was also at this facility, whom we decided to visit while we were there. Although it seemed like a walk, which I think is the most negative thing I could think at the time of my visit, it was nice scenery. I noticed along the way that there were other people who lived there sitting outside, some who were talking to others and some who were just reading. When we got to my grandmother friends room we noticed that the rooms were nice. They had a kitchen area that would be great for anyone but not too big to handle on your own. They were also close to nearby health facilities if a problem was to arise. I believe that out of the 3 difference facilities I have recently looked at for my grandmother, Sterling House of Richmond was the best that I had seen.
