My mother is living in a one bedroom apartment in the assisted living wing. There is ample space, a washer and dryer, and she loves the spacious shower. She enjoys sitting in front of the fireplace and visiting with other residents. The staff members are professional as well as warm and caring. Various activities are offered to meet the interests of different individuals.

The great "look" that this facility gives is deceiving. Their "great" memory care unit is a lie. My grandmother has Alzheimer's and she was removed from that unit, as well as 3 other residents, because they are "problem residents". AKA they do not sit silently 24/7 - you will only see residents in this unit who require very little attention and are not the average dementia/alzheimer's patient. This was not given to us a choice, they moved her then informed us afterwards. The staff and administration have been TERRIBLE. Every time I go to visit her the CNA's complain to me about having to take care of her, because she gets scared and starts crying which makes changing her or bathing her difficult. One CNA asked me if I was staying long, and when I said yes, she responded with "Good because I leave soon and I don't want to have to change her" and walked out. Her minor and expected behaviors as a result of her alzheimer's result in them threatening to kick her out or send her to psych because they don't want to deal with it. She has NEVER hurt another resident or posed a risk to them. She has been without dentures since her 3rd month there because they "went missing" and they have made NO EFFORT TO GET HER NEW ONES. She has been there for 2 years. We are moving her to a different facility and reporting Ossian, as well as considering legal action, for their neglect and for numerous counts of intimidation as well as lying to us about laws and regulations to get us to do what THEY wanted us to do and what was easiest for them. The administration is very convincing in that they "care" about their residents and want what is best for them, but you will see no such thing here. There is a reason that they can not keep management, nurses, or CNA's staffed at this facility. One star is too many. DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES GO HERE!
