We visited my mother-in-law who is in Westminster Village Muncie. They have an outstanding staff, so they're really good. The facilities are beautiful and well-kept. It's a nice place. Before the pandemic, I tried the food, and it was very good. I know they used to do trips and that sort of thing with the residents. There are some exercise opportunities or what-have-you. My mother-in-law doesn't participate in a lot of those, but they have movies, special evenings of music, and entertainment. The rooms are nice. My mother-in-law has a two-bedroom place that's really well designed and very easy for her to get around in. It looks new, and everything is really in great shape and well-kept. It's in great shape and very good condition.

reviews are a good thing and nice to know and usually about the good things that happen. let me tell you a true little story about a not so good thing. two people were invited to listen to a music artist at this facility one evening. the artist was late and was asked to play in the dinning area. everybody went into the dinning area to listen. there was a special birthday dinner going on and one of the guests was having a birthday and inquired about purchasing a meal, which they did not get. they were told they needed to know somebody at the facility, of which they did, to participate. after 45 minutes of listening, the hard of hearing, 69 and 91 year old people were ask to relocate out into the lobby. this was not only inconsiderate, but very embarrassing. an unfortunate bad thing to happen to anyone, but one of the things that anybody normally here's about.

We chose Westminster Village Muncie, but my parents haven't moved in yet. The place is very clean, very modernized, and very friendly. I only met a few staff, and they seem very accommodating. Whatever you need, they will do. They have three different phases. The one we visited is just for living on their own, unless something changes and they can move over to the other side. It is a really nice set-up. It's like the Taj Mahal; it's beautiful. It is clean, but it doesn't smell like cleaning stuff. It is presented really nice. What was nice about them, too, is that they have their own official mailbox. It has its own key, so nobody can get your mail besides you. People can't sort through the mail, like they did at this place in Tennessee. It's a slot you drop down in, so it's secure, too.

Under staffed. Very poor communication. OK for those very capable, those needed assistance are on their own. No help with motivation for group activities or events. Happy to have residents sit in room. Not the right place for anyone facing oncoming memory issues.

My father-in-law was in Westminster Village Muncie a year ago. It's a senior living place. They have rehab, independent living, and assisted living. They're very good there, but it's very expensive. They had a very topnotch physical therapy room, very, very big with lots of workers and they were very good with the people. The aide staff was very, very good. It looked like their food was really good. He just didn't want to eat. Everything there was very good. He just had a rehab room, so it was more like a hospital room. They've got lots of beautiful grounds around it and walking paths. It's a great location just on the north side of town. It's in an area where there are people that have more money. In the rehab, they had movie times, bingo, crafts, and church services. It was very good. The head nurse was just awesome, but she's been promoted, so I don't know where she is now. She was topnotch, making sure all the residents were taken care of well, very energetic and positive, and she would go around and just offer to clip their nails for them, that wasn't even her job, but she would do it. The rehab was very, very good.

Westminster Village Muncie Inc. is more of an upscale type of place. It's awesome. They have a nursing home on one section of the place, then assisted living on the other side, and then they also have regular apartments, so it's not necessarily assisted living. It is independent living, but you can also add things to it. If you need someone to take care of your meds and stuff like that, you can add things to that and they'll do it for you. We toured the assisted living side and they also showed us around in the nursing home side, too. We didn't see the independent living side. They showed us the apartment, the outside of it, and stuff for that. But it's all on the same campus. It's incredible. If my dad could afford it, we would go there. It's just beautiful. The grounds are just amazing. They've got these big rooms where they can have a little convention. People come in there, and they can watch movies. They have a gym, they and have medical staff and everything. Both places had medical staff. But, yeah, I mean, it's hard to explain exactly. It's like a resort. We were toured by a nurse, and she took us around and everything, and it was good. She was amazing. She gave us all the answers we needed and things like that and shared as much as she could tell us. It was just a nice tour. The dining area is really good and nice. They have several different areas.

Westminster Village Muncie is out of our budget range but it's very nice. It's very clean, the nurses are very nice and they are helpful. They have a lot of things that you can do, and a beauty shop. And from what I saw, it was very nice. I had a meal there and it was very good. In terms of value for the money, it's way overpriced, they've used up all her money and so she has to move.

My mother had an aneurysm and has very little short term memory, so she needs to be in an assisted living facility. They staff at Westminster are wonderful, they check on her daily and make sure she is taking her medication, something she would forget to do if not for them. She seems to really enjoy the area as well, they have fitness areas and planned activities. That is wonderful for her, because she needs structure. She also craves independence, and it's wonderful that she can pick and choose what she wants to do. The only downside to an assisted living facility is the cost. My mother has a studio apartment that her monthly allotment barely covers. It would be nice to see an affordable assisted living place around here, but i do understand that there is a premium involved with having nursing and other staff around all the time.
