My mom has been in this facility for a year now. I can honestly say at first the care was basic. Now they have definetly upped the ante in her care. They watch out for her esp taking the time and effort to make sure she is eating bathing and getting her meds. Trying to get her to interact with the other residents. Thy know her very well and know what to expect from her. Also the place while not decorated well (working on it) is immaculate and very clean

My mother in law is there now and when she has an Appt and so on I believe that the staff should make sure she and this should go for anyone else that has an Appt and so on when they come back from that Appt they should be able to have lunch waiting for them. The staff needs to talk to the other people that pick up the trays to leave it in the room and not bother it at all. I mean think about it would you want your love one to go without something to eat. That is not right to treat them like that.

We went on a tour, and Golden Livingcenter looked like it would be the place for my mother-in-law because she has dementia, and they have a dementia unit. The room was spacious, but there was no kitchenette, and the bathroom was kept separate; it was not in the same room. It also looked very clean. There were several dining areas, and they looked fine. They had quite a few activities for the people. The staff was very polite and very nice.

My father was at Golden Livingcenter. He was in a wheelchair, and he couldn't speak or have a conversation with any of us. We took him out and gave him vitamins, and now he is walking, talking, and eating. So Golden Livingcenter just wasn't the best care for him. The accommodations were OK, but they weren't always making sure that he was eating his food. The staff's work ethics was fine except for one person.

I have tryed to be good to the staff at golden living,my father is there I want him to be taken care of!! i go in the staff is not at the desk half the time.when you look for the aid well all i can say is half the time they are in a patients room on their phone, this is sad you trust when you put a family menber in a facility they will take care of them !! not true for golden livingcenter.

this Nurseing home is way understaffed!!when your looking for aides or help you can never find anyone. It seems like every time I visit my parent he is soaked so bad his chair is wet and like I said you can never find help !!when your short staffed and you only have 2aides you don't send them on breaks together. They do have a charge nurse For What I'm not sure it's like she's afraid to reprimand. If I could do this over again this would be my last choice. As for the parking lot there's so many pot holes surprised I haven't gotten a flat not enough parking. I could go on and on but if your considering a place for your loved one please make a different choice than this one!!!

Very good OT and physical therapy department. I was there a month while recovering from injuries. They have nice activities for their residents.

This facility is only a few blocks away from a hospital, which is great if a resident is in need of emergency medical care. Since this nursing home is in an area of Northwest Indiana that has just a couple of hospitals to serve it, it is unusual for a facility such as this to be so close. That is one of the few things that I believe are good about this nursing home. The outside grounds of the facility are in good, but not excellent shape. The parking lot is small, but there are always spaces available. In the entrance foyer, I have never been greeted by anyone. There is a sign in book, but that is about it. The area is clean and smells normal. No one has ever offered to give me any directions or asked me if I needed help finding a room. When I have walked to the area in which my relative lives, none of the people at the station say anything to you unless you speak first. You do not hear "how are you?" or "have a good day" unless you initiate the discussion. When I last visited, no one offered to help me find the room, but when I asked for help, the staff member walked me to the room. When I left, I was ignored until I asked questions about my relative's care. The person did not know. I contacted our family representative to follow up later.
