When it came time for mom to enter an assisted living facility, I chose Colonial Oaks Retirement Community. I will forever be glad that I did. Mom entered the facility at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. I live 400 miles away. I was never worried about her. The staff was friendly, caring, helpful, attentive, and responsive to my requests. They treated mother as if she was their own mom. Mom received excellent care for the two years she was there. I have no hesitation in recommending Colonial Oaks.

For 3 years there has been problems with poor quality and decent meals. Cold food, running out of food, they built a new kitchen and still the same problems occur. Most residents end up cooking food in their apartment even though they are charged a large amount for food the seldom get. My dad has lost 47 lbs. his only option is move or bite the bullet. Not a good situation

Colonial Oaks Retirement Community is well put. They have nice little apartments and I think anybody would be very comfortable there. They also have activities, but you don't see the staff on the tour but you only get to see the person trying to sell you the place. If somebody would choose to go there, I think it would be very fine.

Everything is pleasant here At Colonial Oaks. They have excellent care. There is staff in every department. They are outstanding and willing to help you with anything. They have activities like they play bingo and all kinds of games. They have a lot of musical groups that come in. They go on outings once a month, and have a big library for books. I like the staff being friendly.

I have come across Colonial Oaks by word of mouth. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They greeted us when we walked in the door. They're very friendly and willing to answer questions. The rooms were spacious, clean, and homey. The dining room was very nice. At Colonial Oaks, they're progressive in that you can do rehabilitation there and then right on the same grounds are the assisted living and the full nursing care. The way it's set up is very helpful for their patients. They have a lot of things going on. They have a van that takes residents shopping quite often. They also assists with getting residents to doctor's appointments and such. The living environment was very nice, very clean, and very friendly. It is an older building, though they keep it as up-to-date as possible. It still needs some modernizing.

Colonial Oaks is a very nice facility. I like the fact that it is one set fee. Their rate covers anything that residents might need as far as assisted living is concerned. Whether it is help with their medications, help with bathing or with ambulation, with preparing their food, etc., all those types of things. Most of the other places we visited would charge extra. I also like the way they set up their assisted living. It is set up kind of like in pods. The sizes of the rooms were nice. The people that we met were very pleasant. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I thought they were appropriate in number. They have an activities director on board that supervises activities. People can get together and play card games, do crafts, etc. They have a bus that is available to take them shopping or go to malls. Overall, I would consider this place for my parents in the future.
