We got my mother-in-law into Good Samaritan Society Shakamak Retirement Community because its close to our home, they have a private room, everything had been updated and remodelled, and there was no odor and no smell. It was super clean, the people that were working were super clean, and everyone seemed happy in there. I havent eaten there, but my mother in law is eating well, and she has no complaints. The rooms are big, you can have furniture, a dresser, theyre very nice, and they come with brand-new TVs on the wall. They keep her busy, she is gaining strength since shes been there, and able to get up and move.

Overall the facility was good, the staff was pretty receptive to our concerns and needs. The nurses seemed very kind and helpful with my aunt, that made it a little easier to go through the process. THe things I didn't like was sometimes you didn't know where she was, because they weren't great about keeping taps. WHen she was out of her room she was with somebody but they didn't communicate well enough to know where she was. That was bothersome to us as the family but I know its a bit nit picky. The facilities were pretty well kept, they don't have a lot to do outdoors when they would take her outside. She was always going outside and we felt that helped "delay" some of her Alzheimers but she did get to go outside it just wasn't very extensive.
