My wife moved to Brookdale Granger. It's a small number of residents by comparison to some of the other ones we looked at. I think they have a higher ratio of staff to residents because of it. The decision that my two children and I made when we were looking, both had the same impression that it was homier. It was a little bit more of a family atmosphere. It was pet-friendly, and my wife is very much attached to our dog. So, those things are a big plus. We can take it there anytime, so she could see him. He could stay with her if we chose, we don't do that, but they have residents who have pets with them. We just have a good feel about it when we're going through all the interviews. The staff introduces me to them and they all are supportive of her. I had lunch with my wife one day, and it was very good. The facility is very well-maintained, clean, bright, and very upbeat. My wife didn't participate in any activities when I was there, but looking at some that were going on when I was there with her, it was very well attended, and everybody seemed to be enjoying them.

Brookdale Granger is up-to-date, clean, pleasant, inviting, homey, and modern. Everybody was pleasant and friendly. I have nothing to complain about.

My mother will be moving into Brookdale Granger. I like the people. It's homey. The rooms could be bigger, but they're probably the perfect size for my mother. The food is wonderful. Their activity director is great. The residents that I've talked to, who have even come from different facilities, love it there. They need updates, like some new carpeting or handrails.

We toured Brookdale Granger. They were very welcoming. They showed me around, and everything looked good. The residents were very nice. I liked that they had some activities, but just figuring out the cost and everything, we needed a little more time. The staff was smiling. They were very kind and they explained things to me. We tried a dessert when we were there, and the food seemed to be very good. In the morning, they go for exercises and they've got an activity room where they have puzzles or games or whatnot.

Brookdale Granger is a large facility, but there's traffic on two sides. It's busy traffic, so they didn't have much in the way of grounds. They didn't have a good exercise facility. The therapy room didn't exist. It appeared to be not quite as spacious. The staff was super friendly, enthusiastic, and cooperative. They had a private dining room. They had some activities. They had some group activity. They were talking about a dance that they had a day before.

Rooms are ok. Staff to resident ratio is horrible! And there is constant change over with staff. They can take on average over 30 minutes to answer a call light due to not enough staff. We have safety concerns with personal care such as toileting and showering. Also can take a long time to get anything such as grab bars, toilets and such fixed. Management will tell you what you want to hear with little to no follow through. There are a few nurses and aides who are very good but can only do so much when management is more concerned with budget over safety of residents.

Brookdale Granger was small. For some people, that would probably be a plus, but the condition, I didn't care for that one. They showed me the room and I just didn't think my mom would feel comfortable in that kind of space. It's really old, but it did not look rundown.

Brookdale Granger had a very tiny apartment. All you got was a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. However, my parents really don't need a lot now in life. They had some of the most wonderful staff I met at any of the facilities I visited. Everyone there was so friendly, and everybody knew each of the residents by first name. They were actually having a birthday party, so we got to go down there. They had a couple of big lounge areas with TV's and DVDs. It was a really nice place. My mom and dad have a dog that they truly love, and the dog can go with them.

Brookdale Granger was very nice and very clean. The staff was very friendly. Everybody seemed knowledgeable and seemed to care about their residents. They allow small pets, which was one of the reasons why we went there, and there was a patio garden. Everything was very clean. There were no bad odors or anything like that.

My mother will be moving into Brookdale Granger. It seemed like a place where she will feel like she was at home. She wouldn't feel like she's with a bunch of people she doesn't know. The staff during the tour was very important for making the decision because he knows all the people in the building and he was just very friendly and was able to just make us feel like this is the place for her. They have an enclosed backyard and a variety of rooms.

Brookdale Granger was pleasant. I didn't see that many residents, which I was somewhat concerned about. Everything was clean and well kept. The rooms that I saw were very comfortable, had very big windows and well lighted. I didn't talk to anybody else along the way, just the manager, and he was very knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions. He seemed to be very pleased with his facility. I got to see some therapy going on. I visited a therapy room and got to see one of the gals working with some of the clientele. The rooms were very nice and clean, well lighted, and seemed very, very comfortable. They had a model room and it was very, very pleasant.

We toured Brookdale Granger Assisted Living. It was pretty much the same as where we are staying now, but it was so close to the highway or the road. We want a more private location. They had nice rooms, they did all the fun activities, and you can have pets there. I think they had a library there, but we didn't really see any classes in progress. They had their kitchenette; it's like a community room where you could go. It had a stove, and you could cook and make your own meal if you wanted, or you could join and have the dinner. The staff was very nice.

I did a walkthrough of Brookdale Granger, and it was fantastic. From the outside it does not look that big. From the inside, it's a lot bigger than you think. The staff was friendly and outgoing. They try to accommodate you with anything they can, and they try to build up the community. I didn't like the studio as much as I did the one-bedroom. To me, the studio was a little bit smaller, and that wouldn't work for us because we would have to get two twin beds. My husband already has his bed, but I would have to go out and buy another bed, and I'm trying not to do it. One drawback was they did not tell me nothing about no community fee. I didn't find that out until I went to another facility and they pointed it out. They need to include that in what they're presenting to the clientele that goes in.

Brookdale Granger was very nice; however, they did not offer transportation. We really need that for our mom. I loved this place. I was so excited about it. However, my sister and I can't manage getting my mom in and out of the car, so transportation was important to us Brookdale Granger was very homey and clean. Cleanliness was definitely there. The room itself was clean with new carpet. It was painted and ready for someone new to move in. The person who accommodated me was very nice, very informative, friendly and not pushy at all. The dining area was nice. They had quite a few activities.

Brookdale Granger had a very nice atmosphere. I liked how they had a long canopy for the residents if they wanted to sit outside. They had nice benches for them and lovely decorations out there for the season. It was nice because the gal who took us on the tour was absolutely precious. She had my mom sit and wait while I went and got the car and then I drove up and she walked Mom out to the car, which I thought was amazing. She was that caring. I liked their caring attitude. They also had exercise, which was not extremely strenuous but kept you moving and limber and stretching and that type of thing which is very important. I was impressed by the activities. They had a very small library. The people who work there would take your dog out if needed. They were willing to step in and help and that impressed me. We came in contact with many workers. The nurse was in the hallway with the med cart which was locked, but she was out there and assisting with meals and helping folks. I really liked the overall experience, and my mom found it appealing, too. There were fairly large-sized rooms with your own bathroom. The menu was nice. Their building was very nice, neat, clean, and well kept. Their decorations were nice, and the maintenance of the building was good.

This place brookdale they don't do a lot of activities like they say they do its always the same thing every week, they don't do outings like they say they do. I remember when emeritus they took them shopping to get there stuff they need and all kinds of places, but now they don't do anything since brookdale took over, they don't even have parties or get together cause they have no money until they get there rooms filled back up, they didn't even have a trick or treat for the residents grandkids or co-workers kids. That's why my friend took her parent out. Cause they tell you one thing but don't do them

We chose Brookdale Granger for my mom. They have very caring staff. The rooms are super cute. Hers has got a beautiful bay window and a full bathroom. They have different actives like bingo and concerts where people come in and sing quite often. They also have exercise classes. I have not eaten there myself, but they have a very nice dining area.

Brookdale Granger is very good. It's the only one I really went through, and I was so pleased with it, I've decided to use them for my husband. The staff is very good. They seem to be very knowledgeable. Their rooms are very nice. My husband's room is adequate. I would recommend this facility to others.

Emeritus at Arborwood were very helpful, and the people I talked to were kind. The time that my dad was there, they just seemed very good to him. I’m just so very grateful for that. The dining room is lovely, they have tablecloths on the table. I’ve been there when my dad has eaten, and he likes a big cup of coffee. I can tell that they’re getting to know the residents -- and not just the nurses and staff -- but we were talking about the housekeepers, the dining staff all of that; they’re just very good. What I really most is the people there; they are just very accommodating if some of the residents want to go outside, they accompany them. They’re not trying to do the least amount of stuff. His room is kept clean, and they encourage him to do things like make his bed. I just think the staff is remarkable and very good. He participates in activities; he doesn’t just sit in his room. They have a bible study once a week and exercises throwing the ball around. He probably doesn’t do as much as I would want him to do, but they are doing their very best to encourage him, and it feels like home.

Emeritus at Arborwood was nice. In fact, they were just in the middle of redecorating when we went there. The lady that we worked with was very good, very supportive and offered all kinds of suggestion. In fact that's where we are going to send my dad once we get to the situation where my mom can't take care of him anymore. That's the place where he is probably going to go. I would recommend it to other people.

Emeritus for my mother is just like being home. She has a very lovely, comfortable room. The staff is excellent and they have the best activity director that I have ever met. He is absolutely wonderful. He has so many lovely activities for all the residents. He makes it his personal agenda to get my mother to participate. I cannot say enough about the staff. They're all amazing, very loving and caring people. They treat the residents as if they were their parents.

I got turned off by Emeritus at Arborwood because the rooms were small and the carpet was stained, it definitely needed to be changed. It was a more expensive place to live in and I couldn't believe they didn't take better care of it. They need to clean it up a little, make it look a little cleaner.
