My husband is in Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center. He's been there for four to five months now. He's getting excellent care. There are a few issues, but if I talk to them about it, they try to clear them up. They're having the same problem that everybody's having, recruiting CNAs, RNs, and LPNs. They don't always have enough help as far as CNAs. There's always a nurse and they belong to an agency of some kind. If there are no nurses available on their staff, they can go to the agency and get a nurse, so there's always a nurse in every hall. He's easy to take care of except that he has Parkinson's. The people there are happy and mostly pleasant. They have care team meetings. They listen to me. They made a couple of mistakes and they've been trying to do their best. It's a nursing home, and they have a lot of people, but they have good activities. I pushed a man down in his wheelchair to bingo when I was there today. The food is good, but my husband can't feed himself and he also can't use the urinal. He has to have them do all of that for him. He's where he needs to be. The PT and the OT are excellent. I also went there for rehab and the other bed in his room was considered a rehab bed, so they let me stay in his room with him. I was in there for two weeks with him. That was kind of nice because I could see what he went through, through the night and everything. They're pretty accommodating and they take you to your doctor's appointments and stuff like that. They have a barber/beauty shop. They don't have any kind of store, but they have little vending machines. They just need new beds and new chairs. The chairs for the visitors are very uncomfortable. He's in a shared room. There are a couple of rooms that aren't shared, but those people are paying extra to have their own room. The rooms are big. He's got plenty of room.

My mom was at Ashton Creek Health And Rehabilitation Center for 4 months. It took forever to get someone to help. Also, I would say half of the staff was not courteous. The nurses were good, but the CNAs and the helpers were not that great there. It was an older facility, and the food was not that tasty. They had some activities. I know they had bingo and they had church services on the weekend. The facility was just not up-to-date. They did have a salon and a physical therapy room.

My mom loved Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center. It was exclusive. It was so luxurious. It was one of the best nursing/rehab centers I have ever seen. It was impeccably clean and up to date. It was just beautiful. They kept that place pristine. The staff was professional and very attentive. If you ring that bell, they would come right in. If something wasn't right or you wanted a place to be clean again, they would be right there and do it. Their furniture was beautiful. Their dining area was also beautiful and I loved the fact that they had more than one rehab. They had it in sections according to how many residents. So, you didn't have to go all the way around the corner or up to the elevator. Every area had its rehab center. They had a formal dining room and then a general dining room where families could go in. They had church services, jewelry making, and pets that would come in for the residents to play with. They also had crafts and puzzles.
