I visited this facility

I absolutely love Northridge Gracious Retirement. It was beautiful. It's gorgeous, it has a lot to offer. I was very impressed. I thought the entire facility was just gorgeous. The staff members were absolutely wonderful. The man who gave me the tour was wonderful, and all along the tour he would occasionally say, "Do you have any questions?" And I honestly didn't have any questions because he was so thorough in explaining everything as we toured the facility. The building was beautiful. I was very impressed with the facility. As soon as you walk in the door you just see beauty. It's beautiful.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am currently living at Northridge Gracious Retirement. They plan to remodel in about a year, but so far it is nice. It is convenient. Its facilities are very, very good, the meals, transportation, and the service, especially the nurse. They have good therapy. They have dominoes, volleyball, and good movies. Very best religion here, we have church twice a week, and plenty of exercises, playing cards, and all kinds of games. They're very, very, very good. This is a perfect place. They serve three meals a day. The staff was good. The managers were very dedicated. So, they have good service.

I visited this facility

I toured Northridge Gracious Retirement. I got to walk inside and see the lunch area and their dining area. Even the outside looks beautiful. I liked that they offered electricity and offered food. It seems very convenient. As far as where it's located, it's surrounded by things that my mother could get to really well. The only thing is the price range is kind of discouraging, but I understand that it includes a lot. I wasn't able to taste their food, but there were a lot of seniors there, and they seemed to enjoy themselves. I came during their lunchtime. So, it seemed like a really good community of people. I could tell everybody cared about each other because the manager or tour guide was so helpful, even if it didn't benefit him, he still helped me, so I could tell that he was a caring person and that meant a lot to me.

Northridge Gracious Retirement was a very well-maintained facility. The staff was great. The amenities were just standardized. They have a recreational area, a fitness center, and a dining area. The room was nice. They had one and two bedrooms.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our mom has been at Northridge since 2016. She has been happy and kept very active. She loves the lifestyle there and she enjoys the community and her apartment. The long-term staff is the heartbeat and soul of Northridge that make it truly gracious. Denise, the activity director is a ball of energy that goes above and beyond to involve and accommodate residents interests. The housekeeping staff particularly Phyliss who we have seen work above and beyond when staff was short always keep everything spotless and truly care about the residents. Serving staff is awesome many times anticipating the needs and desires of residents. Even Rhonda the Salon is a part of the fun and makes everyone's life brighter. Much appreciated and I would recommend Northridge. Managers come and go but the loyal and competent staff make Northridge a gem.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband has moved to Northridge Gracious Retirement, it's a very, very nice place. The facility is just beautiful, it is very elegant looking and everything is very clean. They have a fantastic activities director, they have great food, and the price that we pay covers everything including his cable. There's no cost for him to do anything, and giving him extra to eat doesn't cost anything. Everyone that I have met has been super nice people. They're caring and they get to know the people that are living there. They have two, husband and wife, assistant managers there and they're there 24-7. They're great. And if you need someone, they have two emergency lights in my husband's room, one is in the bathroom and one's in the bedroom. He accidentally set off one of them, and someone was there right away. The staff is out there working like they'd bring out coffee at mealtimes, and the chef is a very personable guy. He comes up at the end of the meal normally, and he serves coffee. It's just a very homey atmosphere. I can go and have meals with him any time that I want to. If you go during dinner, which is in the middle of the day, it's a big meal, and it costs $7 for your visitor. If you go during dinner, that's a light meal so that's $5 as well as breakfast, if your visitor is having breakfast there. The food is very good, I have eaten there several times and my husband's happy with it. It comes out hot, it's always delicious, and they get plenty. The activities are a lot of fun, and the director is just a little bombshell and she'd have fun with the people. She has something going on all day, every day. The young lady that showed us around, her name was Kelsey, and she's just a super nice person. She showed me three different kinds of rooms and he picked out a studio apartment. It has a large refrigerator but they don't have a microwave. They have a sink in the area where the refrigerator is and they have a lot of cabinet space and large closet space. They have a back patio with all kinds of flowers, and the lawn is always neat and clean. It just presents itself to anyone as a very well-taken care of place. They had very nice activities like they had a prom for them, they take them to the casino, and for the Fourth of July celebration, they had a band. I'm just real pleased with it and I wouldn't mind living there myself. I feel that it's worth what we pay.

I visited this facility

During my visit to Northridge Gracious Retirement Living, I was shown some apartments. They were doing an open house before Christmas. I was not given a tour by the community sales rep, Kelsey, but she directed me to someone. I think he's on staff or he may be a resident, but I got a good tour. They had all kinds of areas where you can get together. They have a big library and a big theater. They had several different elevators to get you to different places. It's quite big. The newsletter said that they were going to have a New Year's party. They have been in the packet; I got a calendar of all of the activities. They have about eight or nine things every day going on. They have an exercise room, a theater, and a chapel, I like it very much. The thing was, I have just contacted them again by email asking for pricing, transportation, and whether they had first-floor rooms with an outside entrance for my puppy. I have a dog and I don't like to get her around other dogs, she stresses out. So, it's kind of important that I be able to get her in and out a door without going through the whole facility to get there. I didn't get answers about that yet. Kelsey was busy greeting people and directing people. So, she was kind of at the front, and not able to talk to anybody, really a lot. So that's why I've gone back and asked more questions.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that your questions didn't get immediately answered at our open house back in December. If you have any additional questions at all, please feel free to call us or stop by the community at any time and we would be happy to assist in any way we can.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom had a nice one bedroom with a balcony on the second floor. Loads of closet space for her clothing, shoes, coats, holiday decor, filing cabinet etc. The staff is great especially the activities director. She programs something for everyone from trips to museums (in non Covid times) to bean bag baseball. My mom enjoyed Karaoke and all the musicians that came to entertain. She also loved getting her hair and nails done in house. Her "cleaning girl" that came in once a week, cleaned, changed sheets and brought clean towels and mom really appreciated that. The food was also really good and there are options. I would recommend Northridge to any senior who wants to have independence but also a built in community.

Provider Response

We're so pleased to hear your mom enjoyed the activities at Northridge so much! Your recommendation means a lot to us, so thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the world. We hope to be of service to you again in the future. Best wishes, Northridge Gracious Retirement Living

I visited this facility

We visited Northridge Gracious Retirement Living. It was unique. They have live-in managers. The manager and his wife live there, as well as the assistant manager and his wife, and because of that it had a real homey feeling. But it was more like an apartment complex and did not provide any medical assistance or anything like that. You could get it through them, but it was an add on, it was quite a bit more. The apartment was gorgeous, big and sunny, with high ceilings. We got to see everything. There was a window in the COVID where we were allowed to tour. They had a lot of activities. We were there three times and every time we were there there was always something going on. There were high school kids that worked there for some residents and they played games. Once when were there, they were doing a county fair and they had a cornhole. They have a big atrium in the middle where all these activities happen. It was very nice. I would live in there. The lady that took us around made sure we met people, like the cleaning people, the staff, the cooks, and they were all very nice. If my brother would need his medications supervised, then that is an outside company. They have an office there and they have staff in there, so I would have to deal with them and not with Northridge. They have a courtyard, and an outside area with a firepit.

I visited this facility

I'm very disappointed with Northridge Gracious Retirement Living's apartments because they didn't have full kitchens. All they had were microwaves, little under-the-counter refrigerators, and a little bit of counter space. There wasn't even a stovetop in there at all. So basically, you're forced to eat the food in their dining room. The food was good. We had a friend living there and we ate lunch with her a couple of times, so I have nothing against the food, but my husband likes to cook his own breakfast. They had a community room that you can go to if you want to cook your own meals, but my husband wants to do it in the morning while he is still in his pajamas, so we can't go down to the community room if he's still in his pajamas. The people were very nice and welcoming, and it looked like they had a lot of activities. Their library and movie theater were very nice. The only disappointing thing about the place was the high cost, and that the room had no kitchen even though it's independent living.

Northridge is probably one of the nicest independent living facilities I have visited. Super clean..always smells nice , always looks festive and the staff sof helpful and nice. The people that live there you can tell just love where they live and they are so proud to call that place their home. I'm looking forward to having my mom move in there.

My tour at Northridge Gracious Retirement Living was good and nice. The facility was clean, nice, and had wide hallways. The prices seem to be more economical, the rooms were a little larger for the money, and the food's really good. They activities are really good too -- like movies, Bingo and scheduled tours out to stores.

I visited this facility

Northridge Gracious Retirement Living is very elegant and brand-new. Unfortunately, my mom did not want to move in there because of the cost of the rooms, and they are individual rooms and not apartments. They're not self-sufficient for someone like her. They have the main dining room, where everybody comes down to eat, which was more like an assisted living/nursing home-type situation. My mom is still quite independent, and she doesn't want to get in to what would be considered more of a social setting. If you can't come down to dinner, service is provided to bring dinner to you. That left us to believe that there is no personal cooking facility. The dining room was very elegant, very open, and it's right there inside. There's a huge foyer as you first walk in that had a big seating area, and you can see the dining room off to the side. Plus, Fishers Area is the higher end of town.

Northridge was absolutely wonderful. It’s literally around the corner from my house. It worked in every single way for us. The one thing I didn’t like about it is that it didn’t have an in-room washer or dryer, although it had a community laundry area of four washing machines and four dryers. It’s just wasn’t very convenient.

Northridge Gracious just happened to be what we need. They had shuffleboard, Wii's, indoor areas, a big kitchen where the family can come in and cook by themselves or make a family meal, and an eating area separate from the dining room. One thing my mom liked was the free soft serve ice-cream 24 hours a day. We only looked at the two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, and it was very big and had much storage area -- more closet space. They had places to do crafts or play Bingo and cards, and there was a workout room and a chapel there. I just loved the place.

Northridge was a new facility, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was definitely more of a retirement or an independent living community. If you do not need the assistance, it is phenomenal. It was gorgeous. The staff was very nice. The food was very good. I was very impressed. The rooms and apartments were very nice. They had wide hallways and wide doors. The dining room was great, and it was very open.
