My mom has moved into Independence Village of Fishers South. She has just moved in, so I don't have any opinion as of yet, but when I visited it, I liked that it was staffed by incredibly friendly people. It was clean, and the rooms were a nice size. The staff was friendly. Regarding activities, they were doing a sing-along yesterday, and today, they were doing something with flowers. It seemed to be like people were having fun, and they were chatting. I think my mom's room is nice.

Independence South was my dad’s first choice. The moment you walk in, you are greeted as if you’re already family. My dad’s room is the perfect fit for him. After moving in and a bit of decorating, it finally felt like home. He especially likes his three home cooked meals a day. Great food! The staff is exceptional. They’re always treating the residents with care, kindness, and respect. We especially like that there is a monthly meeting just for residents to discuss any questions or concerns they may be having.

Every staff member we have come in contact with here have been super compassionate, attentive, considerate, and go above and beyond to personalize the experience to each resident and family’s needs. The facility is beautiful and there is very a diverse offering of activities. They have made this life transition the best it could be for all of us. I would highly recommend this facility!

My Mom has lived there in Assisted Living for just over a year. She has a very nice one bedroom apartment which is perfect for her. She looks forward to going to the dining room at each meal, I think mostly to sit with the ladies she has made friends with. The staff have been so gracious. They learn everyone’s names, likes and dislikes, habits, schedules, etc. I had looked at other places even closer to where I live but they were massive. The coziness and everything being off one hallway was a perfect fit.

The rooms are very nice with plenty of space and a private bath. They are well maintained and safe. The food is good and attention is paid to making sure all residents have options and many opportunities for nourishment outside of mealtimes as well. Many activities are available for residents throughout the day. The staff is caring and the residents feel respected and valued.

My dad has been in this facility for just over a year and we feel very fortunate to have found this wonderful home full of loving people for him. My dad is a man that had lived in the same home for over 50 years, never traveled and was very routine and so we knew this change would difficult for him. The last 10 years he had lived alone, and his health had begun to decline rapidly. When we found Independent South Fishers, we knew it would be a great fit. It is close to our home, a clean facility with friendly faces, good food options and so many activities no one could get bored. Even our kids love visiting Independent Village of Fishers South. They helped my dad go from barely walking, hardly eating, and having no desire to live to his lively happy self again. He had lost about 40 pounds and had basically given up. With their love and care he has completely turned around. He is walking, eating, interacting, and enjoying life again. They make him feel special and give us the peace of mind that he is safe and taken care of especially when we are busy with our young kids, it’s the middle of the night or we are on vacation. We are very thankful to have found Independent Village of Fishers South and the people that make this place his home.

Mom is at Independence Village of Fishers South. The staff and residents are nice to each other and to the new people. The size of the community is manageable. All of the necessary places where someone would need to be are on one corridor. The apartment size is very nice. Mom's in a one-bedroom with a small living room, and a little kitchen area with just a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink. It's adequate and the people have been very accommodating. One downfall is that like everybody else, they are having trouble finding a staff person, like someone who would give insulin at night, for example, but they're trying to work on that. It's run a little differently. It's an age-in-place community, which means that in the ideal situation, mom would stay in her apartment and get increased help as she aged. They have bingo and card games. Mom expressed a fondness for Skip-bo and before the week, the marketing director had set up a Skip-bo teaching lesson to include some of the other staff and see if Mom got to try and find some people to play with. They also have movies, both Catholic and Protestant services and Bible study. They are an animal-friendly community. They have a resident cat and several of the residents on the first floor have little dogs. There are several people, including the marketing director, who bring in animals. One of them brought in baby goats one day, and one of them brought in baby pigs. This week they have newly hatched chicks and the residents are very fond of them. They have a happy hour every day at 4 where you can imbibe or not. They have outings and they provide buses to go to appointments. So, they have a lot of different activities. They have several sitting areas and there's an atrium area outside where they have encouraged people to come down. There's fruit and flavored water and coffee available down the lobby at all times. They have a wonderful maintenance man named Cleo and another person that works there who will come and help you in your apartment if you need help.

It’s a quality facility with incredibly caring staff. You can always find a staff member when you’re in need. Staff is always willing to divert their paths to assist any resident. All around a loving family between the staff and residents!

Independence Village of South Fishers has been a god-send for our Sister who is currently a resident in Memory Care. The staff are very loving, caring people that really have a passion for elder care. They are wonderful people who have become family. The facility is very clean, very attractive and the food is amazing! I highly recommend this facility for either independent living, assisted living or memory care needs.

My father moved in at Independence Village of Fishers South. He is still doing some adjustments, but he seems to like it there because he's doing OK. I couldn't be happier with it. I can't say enough good about the director and the assistant director. They are very accommodating people, very outgoing, made it very easy for us, and worked hard to get us in. Dad is in an efficiency apartment. It's spotless and it's been all redone. Zero entry shower, all ADA compliant. It's got a kitchenette in it. They can come and go as he pleases. It looks over a courtyard that has 2 small gardens, bird feeders, and trees. In the dining room, if he doesn't like what's on the menu, they fix what he wants. It's a pretty sweet setup. I ate lunch with him, and it was fine with me. Dad does rehab 3 times a week, he does chair exercise classes, and he goes to social hour. They do field trips, and they have transportation if needed. There's a gardening club and a reading club. He doesn't want to admit it, but he is enjoying the activities. The grounds seem to be clean and well-kept.

My brother has moved into Independence Village of Fishers South. I like it. They have a lot of activities. They also have a lot of in-home therapies like physical therapy and speech therapy, so you don't have to go out to the doctor, like a podiatrist comes in, so those kinds of things. My brother has been there for two weeks now. The staff seems very professional and friendly. The other thing that's good about it is their food. They're flexible. For my brother, it is the ability to eat breakfast during lunchtime or dinner. He loves breakfast. The place he was in the last time, he could only get breakfast in the early morning, and he didn't like that. So he could get breakfast any time he wants. He has also participated in activities and he's enjoying them. The other thing that's good about it is they have a lot of veteran activity.

I found Independence Village of Fishers South. I'll be moving in the coming week. It's a very nice, very nice community. The people, everyone I've met there is very welcoming, even the residents. I looked at a two-bedroom apartment, which is very spacious, and then the one that I chose is a studio apartment, which is also very spacious. And it's got a room for a couch, so you can also put a bed in there. And the kitchen is very nice, very spacious, it's got a counter and also a cabinet space. The bathroom is very large. You have no problem getting a wheelchair and yourself in there. It has a walk-in shower, which is very nice. And they also will build it to suit, like the handles if you need them, something to hold on to in the showers. So they will put bars in there for you and they will put it in however you want to put it in. The manager was very informative. The chef comes from a very established restaurant here in Indianapolis. From what I heard when I talked to the residents, they said the food is very great and if you have visitors come to visit and want to eat dinner with you, that only costs them $7 per person to eat. You can order pretty much anything you want, from hamburgers to steak, and plenty of sides also. It's a very beautiful place.

Independence Village of Fishers South is one of the places we toured that we liked. The best thing about them was the very friendly and caring staff. The thing we liked the least was their very small bedrooms. Their staff members were very, very friendly with the residents. They showed me everything, including the medical assistance, the walking area in the courtyard, the happy hour facilities, and the nursing care facility.

My mom moved into her apartment earlier this year. She has many new friends and enjoys all of the activities that are offered, including bingo, which is her favorite. She loves the staff who are always so attentive and caring; they are so pleasant and responsive to my questions as well. My mom loves the food, too, and is always excited to see what the menu offerings are each day. There is a great salon on site and she enjoys getting her hair done each week, too. The ability to remain in the same apartment whether she is independent or requires different levels of medical care is a huge plus as well. We are very pleased with everything Independence Village offers and the care they provide to my mom.

My mother has been at IV for a little over a year. To use my sister’s phrase- mom was a hot mess when she got there! Her medical conditions have stabilized, she has needed help at her finger tips and she loves talking to the residents and staff alike. This has been a great choice for my mom. She is thriving there!

What a wonderful facility. My mom moved here Nov 2019. So, she's been there 3 years and her care has been excellent. Even through the pandemic, they provided excellent care. When we couldn't visit, they arranged FaceTime visits. Then we got to have outdoor visits. When I go to visit mom, the staff is always saying hello to residents by name. I've only seen smiles from the staff. Her apartment was recently renovated, and a 1 BR is perfect size for her. There are plenty of activities provided, and the residents get to recommend others they would like available to them. For mom, the best activities include the visits from animals, and the music programs. :)

The staff at Independence Village is remarkable. They are incredibly kind and compassionate to the residents and their families. They have so many fun activities like Wednesday lunch bunch. There are multiple functions at the facility and the food is always wonderful. They are communicative and truly care about the happiness of the residents. The apartments are beautiful and have upscale furnishings such as stainless steel appliances. We are so grateful that our loved one is at Independence Village.

I liked Independence Village of Fishers South. it's beautiful. The food was great. Jenny, Crystal, the management, and the nurses were all great. The assisted living rooms were nice. They've just updated everything. So, they were all new, but they were just a little too small for mom.

We're very happy with Independence Village Fishers South. We went up there one day, we had lunch with my aunt, and the food was good, and all the attendants that worked there were very friendly and very helpful. A situation arose with one of the patients and we weren't quite sure what to do. They were right there and they knew how to handle it and handled it very well. It's a very nice place, all the rooms are nice, and when you go in, you have to sign in so they'll know who's there and they give you little badges to wear, so they'll know you're a visitor and stuff. So I kind of like that. They have a calendar they print out every month. They can go to church on Sunday and they have music. They bring someone in that they can attend to, and they have basketball, and chair volleyball and they have people that come in and sing and they even have a happy hour if someone chooses that. They play cards and they just do all kinds of activities. They did a Father's Day cookout if you wanted to go there and be a part of that, and then they did a little 4th of July thing. They're always active, doing stuff. Since she's in memory care, the main door is locked to her side. It's kind of like a U-shape that goes around. And then there's one door that goes to a patio out there on her side where she can go, but they can't get out to the main street. That's kind of nice for the ones that have memory care, and there are techs, or nurses, or care people always on the floor looking for them and checking on them in their rooms. If you're visiting, they'll just stick their head in and say hi and stuff. But in her room, she has a big closet so they can bring stuff, and she has room for her queen bed, and she has a full-size dresser and a lounge chair in her room. And then they have a huge bathroom with a shower that you can put a shower chair for them in and big enough for a wheelchair to go in if you needed a wheelchair. I feel very comfortable with her being there.

We chose Independence Village of Fishers South for dad, because it was by far superior to any of the other ones that we looked and the staff was amazing. They all went out of their way to answer questions and to show us around. They were just so friendly. It was very obvious that they loved their job. I was so impressed and they made the process very easy. They had a little welcome home party for my dad yesterday, and he's just happy as a clam. We talked to a lot of the residents and they were very happy, very positive, and loved living there. Some of them had been there for over 20 years. We also ate there yesterday and the restaurant was amazing. I couldn't believe how good the food was. He's a picky eater, but he loves the food. They had a St. Patrick's Day happy hour last night and when I called today to check and see how he's doing, he was going to an exercise class and a concert tonight. I highly recommend them.

My mother is in Independence Village of Fishers South. The staff is outstanding, and the people running the place are outstanding. The food is very good. I don't think you could find anything better, and the activities seems to be sufficient. They are currently remodeling. I think there could be some improvements in the facilities as far as aesthetics. It looks a little dated downstairs in the gathering areas. They seem to have a lot of stuff going on like games, church services, and a happy hour for the residents (if they want to go). It's not cheap. It's expensive, but in this world you get what you pay for. What I like least is the fact that the surrounding area is very commercial. There's a CVS in front of them. There are some shops and a strip mall in front of the place. There's not a lot to look at out your window because of where it's located.

We found Independence Village of Fishers South to be very homey and comfortable. The staff had all been there for quite some time, and they were very warm, very friendly, welcoming, and seemed very efficient. We especially liked Jenny, who did the tour with us, because she has great enthusiasm and passion for the place, and all the residents we met seemed very happy and very comfortable. They gave us some lovely cake as we left and it was delicious. We just found the apartments a little small, but when we talked to my mother about it, she asked how much room does she really need, so we were still very pleased with that facility. It was near all the things she would need, like clinics, hospitals, and shopping if she needed it. They also have transportation every day if she needs to go somewhere. So, it was a really good location.

I thought that Independence Village of Fishers South is nice, although it's too many miles from my home. As far as the facility, it was good and I like that they only have 25 rooms in their memory care, so it's a smaller group. I like the activities they have planned for them, I liked that they have a podiatrist, an ear doctor that comes in regularly. Then if you use the doctor that works with them, there's a practitioner that checks in with all their patients every Monday, and I like that a lot too. The hallways and community spaces, living room, dining room, and activity room, all needed to be more bright and open. That'll be the only thing.

My father is in Independence Village of South Fishers. We chose it mainly because I felt it was the best value for the cost. The rooms are newly remodelled, so the flooring and everything are all brand new. The staff was extremely nice. The food seemed to be very high quality. They have a lot of activities, and they have physical therapy right there on site; my dad needs that. It saved us from having to take our dad to therapy 2-3 times a week. I've been impressed with everything, there's just been a few minor things here and there. The staff is very responsive and have been very helpful. There's a couple of nurses that have just been really super nice to my dad, and that's making him feel welcome. The food is very good, and they have a good variety of stuff. They have at least a few things every day on the calendar; there's quite a few activities. They have an outdoor courtyard area, and they have a nice restaurant (instead of a dining room). Much of it has been recently remodeled. It's a fairly small community, and I like that too; it's not like there's so many people that the staff can't learn their names. It's good that it's a smaller community, and I think it has just the right amount of amenities for the people who are there. I think it's expensive, but most places are.

My mother-in-law is in Independence Village of Fishers. She doesn't like it there. She's the type of person that once she gets it in her head that she doesn't like something, then that's it; she's never gonna be satisfied no matter what they try to do for her. She thinks the food there is terrible. I'm not sure that it is, but nothing they can do right at this point for her. I think the medical care is really good there. Some staff are really good, but the turnover is too high. You never quite know who is in charge. They just got bought. It used to be the Hearth at Windermere. Almost all of the staff is different and the communication isn't that great with the staff except for the head nurse; she's good. The other ones may be good too, but we don't know everybody. They have activities, but she doesn't like to participate because she's blind. They try to accommodate her with really big bingo cards. She's just not that interested in activities at this point. The facade and the upkeep are fine, nothing special. It's clean and well cared for. They only have a very small lobby, a little entry area, and gathering areas. She probably needs more care than she's getting. She's in a very low level of care right now. She probably needs to be a higher level, but the staff didn't point that out to us. We figured that out ourselves. They were willing to come in and evaluate her, but they didn't initiate it themselves.

I liked Independence Village of Fishers, but I did not get to meet a whole lot of residents. It also seemed a little too quiet. Not that I expected a parade or a party all the time, but it was a little too quiet. They were not quite as friendly as the other places I have been. I walked past several people and I did not really get to talk to anybody. The apartments were very nice. They are within our budget, and they actually made me dinner (sent some home with me too). The food was excellent. It was in a great location, but I just didn't feel the family atmosphere. It is in a nice setting. They actually have woods behind it. They were also next door to a pre-school, so I guess they would also do activities with the kids once the pandemic gets under control. The apartments were very spacious. They had just been bought, so it's an older facility. The building itself has been there for 20 years. They were redoing the apartments and told me that if I pick one for my grandma, they would do some customization when she moves in. Things were being refreshed. They have a happy hour every night too. The staff was very nice but they were a little disorganized.

We visited Independence Village of Fishers. We liked it, but it was a little older. It was about 25 years old. It had an older feel to it. We saw the apartment and it looked very nice. They had an exercise bike, and then like an alcove and a hall, and it was not set up for any kind of weights or anything like that. They did have a nice outside area. It was well maintained. Everything looked nice, but it was just a little older, a little dated. The halls were clean and there were pretty things on the door. It had a beautiful courtyard; it was gorgeous. It had a little stream, water features, little critters and ducks that would come in. We saw a one-bedroom and an efficiency. The efficiency room was small and not what I wanted, but the one bedroom was very nice. It had a big bathroom. The cook came out and met us personally. They gave us a big takeout plate of chocolate chip cookies, which were delicious.

The community was a decent place with polite staff. The place was clean. However, there weren't that many amenities. The rooms looked decent, were a good size, and clean.

This place was likely where we would have taken our mom. It was very nice. The gal that took us around was extremely helpful. We loved the location of it. The place was really clean, and they had lots of activities. We really liked it a lot. The staff was very nice. The food was very good. We liked that they had rehab because our mom was going to require some rehab.

The community is a 3-story facility, which concerned me a bit, with narrow hallways. Their rooms for activities were not open concept and had doors, which was uninviting. The narrowness of the halls worried me for safety. The closed activity doors seemed to isolate and wouldn’t promote people into joining in. The staff was very nice, and I could tell that the residents were happy. There was a sense that they all work together. They should take the doors off of their activity rooms, although I can understand why they would want to close them; it is what it is. The people and staff are what make it.

It is very nice, and if my mom was going to go someplace, I would suggest this to her. The lady that I dealt with was sociable. The place was homey, and the apartments were very nice, not quite large, but large enough. The one I looked at had a very large bedroom and bathroom and a large living area with a small kitchenette area. The dining area was very nice. They had a doctor and nurse on-staff all the time. They don't have a pool, but they had a chapel, library, and a beauty salon.

It is in walking distance from where we live. The room is pretty big with a bathroom and kitchenette. The tour guide was helpful. They have a very good menu, and the dining area was pretty full, so they have waiters and waitresses who helped with the food.
