We had my father in Whitlock Place for about three weeks and it was just assisted living. We thought it was a memory care and it wasn't, so we had to take him out after three weeks because they couldn't handle him. The staff seemed very nice and they were very upfront with, "He needs to go to a memory care facility because we can't handle him." It was very clean, and it was a little bit bigger than the one he's in now, so he had to walk a lot farther to get to the cafeteria. It was probably a little too big for him. They had quite a few activities. The atmosphere seemed very nice. The dining area was well-lit, open, and newer. It was a newer building. The courtyard was nice and fairly big. He had a window, so he could see the courtyard. The room was fairly nice and big, but I didn't care for the layout. The people that worked there were very nice and helpful.

We saw different rooms at Whitlock Place where different activities were offered. They have 1-bedrooms, 2-bedrooms, and studio apartments. It isn't as brand new as other facilities, but it was very nice and exceptional, so we were very impressed.

Whitlock Place is assisted living. My parents liked the place's openness and friendliness of the people. It's very clean and really suited them. It was in a location where they're used to driving around. My mom is in a studio. The rooms are really nice. There are a few one-bedrooms and maybe two-bedroom places, but the studios were very comfortable, had all the amenities they needed like a refrigerator and sink, and are repainted and cleaned every time someone moves out, so it’s a very clean and nice place. The people are very helpful, caring, and hospitable. They come by and talk to the residents all the time. It's a very friendly environment. The food was very good. They have two different times that you can eat, so that's really nice and helps the residents decide when it's best for them to eat. They're very friendly and helpful when serving, which is nice.

The staff at Whitlock Place is excellent and very friendly. They work with the extended family and are just really patient. They are very easy to work with. They know who mom is, they know who I am, and they know what her issues are. It's a nice place. She has an apartment, and it's nothing fancy. They've got rooms where they play bingo and games, and they got a couple computers. They have a little kitchenette that hasn't been used, which they turned into a country store. They've got two nice inner courts where you can just sit and enjoy. The apartments on the outside have covered patios, and there's a fence since it's a locked facility. She gets her meds filled out to her and insulin shots given to her. They just need to build more community between the residents like pairing the ones that are still OK mentally. They also just purchased a bus this month, and last Tuesday, they took everybody to a big fancy place an hour away.
