The rooms are not sanitary and the food is inedible. My friend was left in soiled bed clothes for over 8 hours. The director is more worried about herself than the residents or employees. There are much better options in the area for your loved ones.

I visited Lane House. I had no problem with them except that their rooms were double occupancy. Other people that I knew who had relatives there, and they liked it, but it would not fit the criteria that my father would want. They were OK, but it was not what we were looking for. The director gave us the tour and explained very well what their philosophy was, how things worked, how they did, and how many staff members they had. We were informed of what care you would be under.

My husband's aunt is in Lane House. It's a nursing home, and there are no private rooms. It's also used for rehab for people coming out of the hospital. The environment is very nice, and it doesn't stink like urine. The people are real friendly and helpful, and they know the residents by name. There's a lot of interaction among the staff and the people. It's probably the best in Crawfordsville.

The entire facility had an unpleasant odor. I know there are lots of smells that are coming from the rooms that cannot be prevented, but I have been in many nursing homes that did not smell like this one. The staff was primarily young, and very rude. I do not think my uncle received any better care than he would have gotten staying alone at home all day while his wife worked. He was always dirty when we would visit him, and it seemed the only time he was thoroughly cleaned was when visited and complained. He did not eat much while he was there, and though that was partly due to his illness, I believe he could have benefited from some sort of assistance eating.
