Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) offers housing opportunities to older adults and individuals with disabilities in apartment complexes in several Illinois communities including Aurora, Batavia, Chicago, Danville, Deerfield, DeKalb, Dolton, Freeport, Joliet, Lansing, Rockford, Rock Island and Wilmette. LSSI's housing units offer much more to people than just a place to live. LSSI offers housing that nurtures the human spirit, helping people to grow and flourish within comfortable and attractive housing facilities. LSSI housing also keeps residents linked to the wider community and connects residents to multiple services that help them continue to live independently. Assisted Living Services offer residents physical assistance in the comfort and dignity of their own apartment. Services include 24-hour catered service, 24-hour emergency response, daily visits from staff, weekly housekeeping and medication set-up by a professional nurse. Social service coordinators are available to assist residents in obtaining supportive community resources that address their emotional, social and spiritual needs. Many of LSSI's complexes provide transportation to residents for shopping, social and community events. LSSI also provides Home Care Services in their housing complexes. Services include but are not limited to housekeeping, grocery shopping and meal preparation, and transportation to medical and other appointments. Welcome to St. Ailbe Faith Apartments Affordable Retirement Housing Sponsored by Catholic Charities. St. Ailbe Faith Apartments is a senior citizen housing facility located on the south side of Chicago. St. Ailbe Faith Apartments consist of 77 one-bedroom units with three adjoining wings which are serviced by two elevators. Each unit is equipped with a medical emergency alarm system which is monitored 24-hours/day. Community space consists of a library, laundry facilities, mailboxes, offices, a community room with a kitchen and public restrooms. An Adult Day Care Center, the Renaissance Center, occupy the east wing on the first floor of the building. The Center has meeting rooms, offices, a warming kitchen, a dining room and garden area. St. Ailbe Faith Apartments is sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago and is financed under the Section 202 PRAC program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The facility is operated by the housing division of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. St. Ailbe Faith Apartments is specially designed for senior citizens who meet the following requirements: Households of which the head or the spouse is at least 62 years of age or older. All residents must be able to care for themselves. Maximum household size: one bedroom unit - 2 persons Certification of Preference Status: Currently with no means of housing. Currently residing in substandard housing (includes currently homeless). Currently paying more than 50% of income for housing (rent and utilities not including telephone).
