Kitchen area very small. No room even for toaster and coffee pot but I was looking for 1 bedroom there was none to show so they took me to studio. But place was neat and clean. Hostess very nice. I did not experience any food. Actives not mentioned

New Perspective was very nice, but the room size was not as nice. The food was fine. The dining rooms were well-maintained. We saw residents playing games. They had paintings and other activities. My mom saw an arts and crafts area, and they also had a salon and a parking garage.

New Perspective Silvis is a very relaxed and friendly community. They try to make you feel at home. The staff is fine. However, one of the buildings smelled a little stale, and it felt a little less like home and more like a nursing home. It was also expensive.

We saw both the independent and assisted living at New Perspective (Lighthouse). We were happy with the independent living except that the apartment available was located too far from the common areas or the social gathering areas, and our mother would not have been able to work with the distance. It wasn’t the right fit for our mother. They offered us some discounts, so I would rate them high for the value of what was being offered.

Lighthouse at Silvis was a nice but very expensive place. I saw a 1-bedroom with a stove and a refrigerator, and it was all furnished. I know they serve meals, and there's a nurse on duty all the time. The place was very clean and very well kept up.

The Lighthouse at Silvis was a very nice facility but a little small and didn’t offer as much as we thought my sister needed at that time. But, it’s a beautiful facility, and they seemed to be very attentive to the residents. We toured the place with one of the staff members and everyone was very friendly as we walked through. The rooms were very nice, of a good size, and looked like they’d be very comfortable. It appeared to be a smaller staff, at least, in what they called the Cottage. We didn’t tour the main building because the Cottage is what they were offering as a possibility for my sister. It needed more activities and more going on; it was relatively quiet. Maybe they cater to the type of residents that aren’t very active.

I visited Lighthouse at Silvis, and I am going to be moving to the community. I like that they provide two meals a day, and it was brand-new. It's immaculate. I also like because it's close to my sister.

Lighthouse at Silvis was a very nice facility. It was just too big, even way too big, for my parents. The apartments were nice, but they were not as cozy or homelike. They were very stark; it just looked to me like any other apartment. They had very nice dining rooms, but again very big. It was clean and the executive director who took me around was very nice, but it just didn't fit what we were looking for, or of them being that was smaller and more intimate for my parents.

I thought the assisted living facility was amazing. The entire building felt very homey and sweet. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I felt like I was in a house rather than some place clinical. They have a big lobby with a fireplace, lots of comfy chairs, and a few radios. The residents seemed to congregate in the lobby's to meet up and talk and they all seemed really comfortable and at home. In the dining area, it felt more like a big dining room instead of a cafeteria. The residents all work with the staff to set the tables for dinner and they get to pick from a small menu that is changed daily. But the best thing about this assisted living home was the staff. They were all very friendly and treated the guests like friends they haven't seen in a while, rather than people they're paid to look after. It was a great experience that I would be happy to have a loved one stay at.
