My father is currently in St Vincent's Home. He's had some trouble, but he's getting good care. He loves the food there. The food is fresh vegetables, and the dining area is really small and family like. It's almost like staying in a hotel. They've been really transparent. In our care plan meetings everyone is involved. It's the person who is the head of the kitchen, it's rehab, it's the director of the nursing home, it's the social worker, and it's the head nurse. They let me know where they stand on everything. It's one of the more expensive places in town. He was in a private room, but he moved to a shared room before he was hospitalized the last time. They sometimes take them out, like they take them for a drive, they go to restaurants, or go shopping. They have bingo, prayer services, and physical activities for them to get involved in.

On Wednesday 7-26-2023 my brother was admitted to this facility for rehabilitation from a broken hip. My brother had surgery on Sunday . 3 days after surgery. This facility transported him to the facility. Sometime later my niece came to the facility to help with her father. Upon arrival she was told to put a mask on, because they have active confirmed covid cases. My brother has been sitting in this facility with other residents with no masks. I see a red flag here. My brother has been at this facility for sometime, other residents here for who knows how long and wasn’t told about covid. Upon arrival here at the facility it smells terrible. Worse than a dirty diaper. My niece asked about his physical therapy . She was told they didn’t offer this therapy. So with the not being informed of the active covid cases and being misinformed about physical therapy she decided to take her father home and get home health to come do physical therapy. She asked for his medication and was told she couldn’t have them. I myself called and spoke with Blessing Hospital and was told this facility needed to release his medications. I called the facility and spoke with a nurse about this issue and was told she would return my call. I have not received a call 8 hours later. I also asked if the facility manager and or the D.O..N could please call me . My sister the power over his medical also called and asked for his prescriptions to be given to her. The nurse she spoke to was very rude and hung up on her. And would not release his medication. My brother couldn’t get any medication filled because this facility had already had them filled. With this being said he has been in severe pain. I don’t recommend this place for anyone. Please If they can’t return a phone call and also being hung up on. I don’t think this place is a place where I could let my family be at. Thank you for taking the time to read..

I have had two grandmothers live at St. Vincent's. Both times my family and I have been very happy with their care. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and competent, and they provide many activities for the residents. I have eaten here before and the food was decent. It was nothing spectacular but it also wasn't disgusting. Neither one of my grandmothers had any complaints about the staff, facilities, or food. My only complaints are the following: first, it's rather small. I would imagine that this is both a good and bad thing. It's good because it lets the nurses, CNAs, and other workers spend more one-on-one time with the residents. It could be bad in case there was a waiting list to get accepted into the facility. Also, the building is old and dated. It is not nearly as flashy or modern as some other nursing or independent care homes in the area. Overall, I would definitely recommend this nursing home.
