My mother-in-law was in Good Samaritan Home. She was pretty much stuck in her room all day. She was there for three weeks, and it wasn't a good experience. I was disappointed in Good Samaritan because it always had a good reputation. She told me that some of the people there were very nice, and some of them were mean. It's quite a bit larger than where she's at currently. They have pretty nice rooms, and the facilities were good, but I'm not sure that its operation was good. My mother-in-law needed skilled nursing because she had broken her hip. She came out of the hospital and went to Good Sam as part of her recovery. Her room was clean, fairly large, and nice, but it's older. The area that she was in was probably built twenty years ago, so it's starting to get a little age on it. They have nice facilities, but due to the pandemic, she was pretty much stuck in her room. They would take her meals to her. Just the last week, they opened the rules up a little bit, so she got to get out of her room to go to eat. She didn't like it there. She said the food wasn't very good, and a lot of the people were not nice, so she wanted to get out. She was supposed to be getting rehabilitation, too, and it didn't seem like she was getting much exercise, even though that's what the hospital said that she should be doing when she got out. I don't think they really gave her much exercise, other than walking around in her own room. They didn't watch her. She was taken care of, but I wouldn't recommend them. There were very few activities.

This place is absolutely terrible. My grandmother calls crying that she hates the place so much. She gets treated terribly and with disrespect. It took a nurse an hour and a half for them to come out her to bed and when a CNA finally came, she threw a blanket at her. There is no leadership, no communication. She has gotten worse since she has gotten into this facility. Don’t leave a loved one here.

My husband has been at Good Samaritan in their nursing home for a little over a year now, and the care has been very good. They have pretty good sized rooms where residents can have their own furniture in there. I am on their waiting list for me to get into their cottages. The facility is pretty clean.

Good Samaritan Home is considered a good facility. It's clean and the staff is nice. We used to run a lunch program there once a month. Fifth graders went in to interact with the nursing home folks and to take them back from their lunch and roll them back to their rooms.

My grandma is very happy here. The nurses seem to be very happy to work there. They take care of my grandma very well, and it is a very clean place. I have been to bad assisted living places, that you can tell the staff is there for a job, but at Good Samartain, you can tell the people are there because they care.

I spent many a weekend there with my grandmother and the staff was always nice when we where around. However I remember my grandmother not liking a lot of the staff. They had a condo style housing situation, where 2 to 4 people lived in small houses on the facility and then they had a larger dorm style housing. My grandmother was in her own "home" and nurses where able to check in though the day or she was able to call them if needed. Beyond that it was pretty much like my grandmother was when she lived on her own, her eye-site had been very bad and she was prone to accidents until she moved into the home, where she could get some of the help she needed.
