Brookdale Orland Park had all the services that we needed. It is clean and friendly, and the people are most helpful. They do activities daily. My mother-in-law gets a sheet every day of about six different activities they do. They have a sing-along/music entertainment and she plans on participating in that. She hasn't done some of the things yet, but she's going to get more involved as she settles in there. I haven't tasted the food but she's happy with it. She likes the fact that there's a selection. I see them working all the time. We met the head of maintenance and they even assisted us in hooking up her TV. We've compared their price with other places and they are the best value.

While the overall appearance of the facility, food service and marketing presentation offer a lovely picture, I would not recommend this facility for Memory Care. The facility is not equipped to handle residents who have dementia or need additional support. This is a good facility for independent seniors who seek assisted living. More importantly, while some staff are attentive, many lack the medical skills, motivation and training to address senior care and emergencies; nor are they competent to follow directives on file. When issues arise, one passes the blame to another person, so no one is held accountable for actions; nor remedied. It is clear the management team are not equipped to handle or train their staff. Since Memory Care is secure, few get to observe the area, rooms, staff and especially, the care provided, particularly on Sundays or holidays. I found many of the staff appear caring but are unprofessional on visits outside of peak hours and one must wait extended time to gain entrance to visit their loved one (not a security feature, wait for staff to open the door). There are a small number of staff who do their best but are the exception. If you place a resident in Memory Care, it is important to have someone visit everyday at varied hours to surmise the situation. In summary, the treatment that my loved one experienced was unacceptable and negligent. The home health care promoted by the facility is below average at best and lacks effective communication. The medication management is expensive and medication is often added that insurance will not pay. Like the staff at the facility, the medical providers are short-staffed and unable to offer quality care for individual residents. Please make an informed decision and do not trust the promises made by marketing, many are simply not the case. The decision to place a loved one in a quality facility is one of the most important choices a family member ever has to make. Please seek the help of others qualified to support an objective and conscientious choice.I chose to share my experience as I do not want another family to experience what I have.

I like the staff at Brookdale Orland Park. They seemed very attentive and there was a good culture of family, interested people, and interested individuals. So all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which is a huge plus. We saw the rooms, the features of the rooms, the views from the rooms, the dining room, and the activity area. There was an outdoor area. We looked at their menu. We kind of discussed some of the activities that we saw. We saw their centralized living room. I would say everything looked clean. However, it also looked like the carpets needed a refresh. The carpet in particular on the main level was light color and barely stained. But in the rooms, they all looked pretty clean and they had flooring instead of carpet, which I prefer personally.

I toured Brookdale Orland Park. The staff showed us around, explained everything thoroughly, and then sent me a price list, so it was all good. I went into the dining room and all the stuff. The rooms are pretty basic. It's clean.

I went to look at Brookdale Orland Park. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding. It was nice. The room that I saw was smaller. Everything's very clean and organized. They had a very nice outdoor space. They had a little courtyard and a little trail to walk. They serve three meals a day.

Brookdale Orland Park was really nice. They were friendly. They explained everything very well to me. It's a beautiful place. The staff who gave the tour was very informative and friendly. The apartments were small, but nice. The people looked happy. Some of the places that I've been to, you look at the people's eyes, and they look like they don't want to be there, but at Brookdale it looked like they were content where they were nice. It was clean, and it didn't smell.

I toured Brookdale Orland Park. What I liked best is it was a smaller facility which means they could give more personal care to the people. The staff seemed well-trained. They showed us their common areas, eating areas, and areas where they get together and do therapy and memory exercises that looked all good. They have a nice outside area, too. What I liked least about them was their smallest rooms were really small. I expected rooms a little bigger, but they did have bigger rooms, so I guess it all depends on what you have chose, but I thought their smallest room would be bigger than that for the cost of the rooms and everything.

My friend moved into Brookdale Orland Park. The accommodations and the room are nice. The other clients are very well taken care of. It's a clean place and the staff is very friendly. They have a dining area. They have an area where everyone can sit and watch TV. They have bingo and they have a common meeting once a week for the residents with concerns or certain things they want to cover.

I toured Brookdale Orland Park. It was very nice. The tour was very nice. But they were a little bit expensive. The staff said the cost would vary and everything, but it was nice. The apartments were nice. I think you had to bring your own furniture like if you want a couch, a bed or something like that, but the appliances were there.

The memory care unit at Brookdale Orland Park seemed very warm and friendly. It was welcoming. I did not like that there was very little parking. I did not like that the bedrooms had no windows. The costs of the shared suites versus if you have your own, I didn't like it in that regard. The person who took me through was lovely. The people were all very friendly to me. If she offered me anything, maybe she offered me water, but I don't think I was offered anything else. They can't improve their parking and I'm sure they're not going to change the shared bathroom or no window routine. So, there's nothing I can suggest.

Brookdale Orland Park was an excellent and clean facility. It was very top-notch. For me, it's just a location issue. It's farther than I would like to travel if I'm going to visit my father daily, but overall the facility was great. The staff were very friendly. The lady checked in on me several times after the visit to make sure and to see how things were going with my father and to see if I had made a decision yet. So, that facility was top-notch as far as what I've seen in the staff and the facility itself.

My father has moved into Brookdale Orland Park. They seemed to meet all of the needs that he had, and it was a very fair price, so we just really liked it. The only problem that we have had that we're kind of disappointed in is my dad likes to use his computer, and his room is a dead zone and cannot get WI-FI, so that's kind of an issue. Other than that, everything's been great. The staff is very good with my dad. We have had some communication issues, but other than that, overall, they're very attentive to him.

Brookdale Orland Park was the best facility that I visited. They just didn't have any space for memory care at the time, but I liked the entire facility, the way that it was maintained, the staff, and the amenities that they have for the seniors. Everything about it seemed perfect and I was hoping and praying that that would be the place for my sister, but it turned out that it was more expensive than she could afford. They had walking paths, places for the seniors to gather and to be able to do drawings/artwork, and a place for theater. Their menus seemed like it was a pretty good healthy menu for the seniors. They had various options if there was a special diet that the senior needed. So, they had the option to change their meal plan. The rooms were very nice. They had a one-bedroom and studios and then they had kitchenettes inside. I felt very comfortable in it and I just thought that it would be a nice setting for my sister to be in the condition that she was at that particular time. The staff were very warm and informative. They followed up with me and did all the things necessary. They even had an area where you can sit out and you could birdwatch. I was impressed with Brookdale Orland Park.

The salesperson at Brookdale Orland Park, Arlene, was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very accommodating. She had experienced people moving into assisted living. So, I had an overall very pleasant interaction with her. The grounds appeared to be well-kept. The common areas were clean and they had a lot of activities for the residents. Many of them were run by the residents themselves, which was encouraging. I saw a one-bedroom that was furnished, to give us perspective. It's got a sitting area, a nice-sized bathroom, and a couple of nice-sized closets. The other bedroom I saw was a little larger, but it was unfurnished. Like many others, they have a place where they do hair, a couple of areas for group activities, and a three-season room where it's a walled-in patio and the windows were glass all the way around. It looks out onto a small garden that the residents help take care of.

Mom moved to Brookdale Orland Park. We chose it because it appeared to be the correct and best care for my mom. I like the level of care they have. The staff seemed very caring and that they would offer the best experience for what my mom was looking forward to, to feel at home. She is in the memory care and they certainly bring her, take care of her, and get her ready for participating in whatever activities they have scheduled for that day. Like the first day she arrived, I think she played bingo right away that afternoon. She's kind of a picky eater, but she's been able to find meals that she likes.

We looked at Brookdale Orland Park. They're very friendly and professional. It was very clean. They had lots of activities, and I saw the residents participate in the activities. And then when they played bingo, they got points, and then they could go to their little store and they could buy something with the points, so it was very nice. It was for assisted living and not for skilled, and to have skilled where my husband would need help, they charge extra for everything. The price was high, but it was well worth it. They had very good food. They had very nice rooms. They had an exercise area. Residents were up and walking around in the common spaces. They had organized activities. They had places where they can work on the computer, so that was very nice.

Brookdale Orland Park was very clean, and it seemed to offer a lot. The marketing director was very informative. We didn't get to see the rooms because they were all occupied. The dining area was very spacious, very comfortable, and very well laid out. They had on-site amenities, such as a beauty salon. When we were there, a lot of the residents were having freshly-made popcorn, which was nice. When the visitors would like to have a meal with their loved one, they can do that.

We have chosen Brookdale Orland Park for my mom, and she is moving in soon. It was very bright and clean. They have a lot of staff on board. The rooms in the memory care were just small bedrooms, but it was my favorite among all the facilities I toured.

I like Brookdale Orland Park. It's excellent, clean, bright, and cheerful, and they had a great menu. Overall, everything was great. I didn't try the food, but I went twice and on both occasions, I thought the menu selections were great compared to other places I've been. The staff who assisted me during the tour was excellent. They had a garden and a patio. For price and quality, it was perfect. There are a lot of activities.

Brookdale Orland Park is a very clean place, and the staff all looked professional. It looked like there was enough help for the people there. I liked the activities that they had. The person that was explaining everything was very kind and knowledgeable. The rooms are very clean. The dining area looked fine. It would seem like they were very knowledgeable about dementia and by the smells, they need to enhance their appetite before they even eat. She was knowledgeable about that and about activities to keep their hands functioning. It was very good. The facility is very clean. They had fresh scents throughout the place. It was very pleasant smelling.

Brookdale Orland Park was a beautiful, well-kept, and small community. Everybody was very enthusiastic about all the activities they have going on there for the residents. The staff was more than kind. They were excited about having family come in and participate as well. They were having a workout session, and people lined up 15 minutes before the event even started. They all knew to go right where they needed to be, stand in line, be patient, and wait their turn. Everybody was very happy about going. The apartments we looked at were spacious, clean, very well laid out, and easily accessible to everything. The window ledges were wider than usual, so my mum could bring her plants and take care of her plants there too.

I toured Brookdale Orland Park. The staff seemed very friendly. They seemed to know what they're doing. The staff was very nice there and seemed to genuinely care about the residents. The facility was very nice. They have a salon, a physical therapy room, a couple of different meeting rooms that the residents could use, and a courtyard, which I thought was very nice. My stepmother is originally from that area, and so we are trying to get her back to be in the same area because of family consideration. There are plenty of restaurants in Orland Park, which is nice. It's 15 to 20 minutes from the nearest hospital.

Brookdale Orland Park is a very clean place. It looks like it has a lot of activities. They take care of a lot of problems, and they seem to be stronger on assisted living than independent living, but they can allow both. They do not have any two-bedroom apartments, so that's probably one that we're not going to do because it would be too limiting to us. Other than that, we really liked it. The facilities were excellent but they were not geared for us. The staff members that we came in contact with were very likable, easy to work with, and appeared to be caring for the residents.

I went to Brookdale Orland Park. It's very nice, very bright, and well lit. Nothing needed painting or was chipping. It had pictures on the wall. The staff was good, knowledgeable, able to answer questions, and greeted us. This particular place had someone that greeted you. He was at the counter. It seemed like they were staffed up, and staff was actually interacting with the seniors in the building. They had buses that come and take trips, if they're going to a particular restaurant. They had transportation that was there daily. They had a calendar that lists the entire activities for the month with date and times for each of them. They had options if you wanted to go somewhere. All you had to do was let staff know for like a day or two, so they can have it planned and set up transportation.

Brookdale Orland Park was beautiful. It had nice amenities, and it's nice and clean. It seemed like there's a lot of activities. It was a little out of my price range. I could afford it but only for a year, so that wouldn't do. It was gorgeous. Based on my husband's needs, it would be between $6000 and $8000. I've seen two empty rooms, and I've seen one that was furnished and very, very clean. The dining was very clean. They had a sauna, a spa room, a room for men to work with like for activities, a dayroom that's gorgeous, and they had a simulated cat that they can pet or a dog and even a baby. It was very nice. If he's assessed at $6000, maybe I could afford that, but if he would need more care than that, then it would be too much money, but it was gorgeous and very, very nice. I would consider going there for assisted living. The person in charge was wonderful. She made shadowboxes for the residents there with their life in the shadowbox with pictures and stuff, and it was very, very nice. I talked to the finance girl and she was nice. I talked to a couple of nurses and the person in charge at that unit, and they were very, very nice, the receptionist was, too.

I had an in-person tour of Brookdale Orland Park. The people were very nice, and the place was clean. We got to see more than just one room, we got to see different sizes of rooms, and all of the places that are available for activities or things that go on them at their facility. I thought the sizes were very adequate. Assisted living is what we're going for, and hopefully my sister qualifies. They invited us for lunch, and the food was very good. The dining area seemed adequate, they had tables of four, I believe. I thought it was adequate for people to mingle, and to know each other. I just thought it was very nice. I think they were doing bingo as we were there. They had a game room, and they had a room to do exercises. The staff was very nice.

Brookdale Orland Park can I accommodate you if you have a pet. They even have dog walkers, and that feature was great. They stood out because they have a special service for pets. They have a spacious friendship suite. The kitchenette was nice, they had a living room, and there's enough space for them. They're all great and the facility itself was nice. They have different kinds of suites including a 1-bedroom so that's a nice feature for that. They have a garden they can sit out in. They can go front back and they're able to go to appointments.

I toured Brookdale Orland Park for a loved one. They were friendly, and the place was well-managed and well kept. They were approachable and knowledgeable. The rooms had a nice design. It appeared clean. I looked at the menu, and it seemed to have a variety of options. I saw an outdoor activity area, a sort of a TV area, and I saw the rooms. The only activities I saw were people gathered together in a room watching TV in the memory care. In the assisted living, I saw bingo. For the memory care, the amenities appeared to be limited to me. It was just a short period of time that I was there, so they seemed to just be sitting there watching TV. I did not see any activity person engaged with them doing anything.

My dad is at Brookdale Orland Park. I haven't been able to see him, but it's my understanding that he is adjusting very well and they're very good to him. We chose this one because they're the closest to the house, I like how they presented it, they're friendly, and they're very knowledgeable. They helped me even when they did not know he was going there with different issues. They were very helpful for the six months prior to him being admitted. My dad does the cooking, he does the gardening, and they have a book club. He likes the food. I only went to his room once. From what I can see, it's a very nice facility. The staff members are very friendly.

Brookdale Orland Park is nice, and a bit larger than other places. But I'd like a much smaller community for my mother because I think they're more hands on, and she'd get more attention there. The staff was accommodating, and gave me a lot of attention. I've seen their activities virtually, not in person because the weather is chilly so they haven't been doing much on the outside. Before, they would come out and get a little air or whatever they choose to do, like visit or look at some magazines. But now, as far as activities, they haven't been doing too much. From my understanding, they prepare meals on a daily basis. The place itself looked and smelled very good.

We did 2 different tours at Brookdale Orland Park, the first time we're very impressed by the place. When my wife and I first visited, it looked really good. They had things going on for the residents, like they had music going on at the time and residents were listening to different kinds of music and reading what they had. This place is one of our top 3. I took my in-laws there and it was right after their Christmas party, but I wasn't impressed with how the place looked after the gathering. It seemed they had more of the memory people out in the lobby area than the assisted living people. So there were a lot of people that kind of didn't know where they were, and it was kind of uncomfortable. They have transportation and a salon, but they didn't have a pool.

I was impressed with Brookdale of Orland Park. I will admit to being a little hesitant when I saw that had changed handled in recent years , but looking further I saw that an older facility as purchased by Brookdale and much had already been updated in both the facility and the staff. I visited this facility looking for a placement for my wife. I focused on the memory care unit which is along one corridor in the building so residents have a single path from their room to the common areas in the unit. I witnessed almost all of the residents in this unit gather for a morning exercise activity and the staff seems attentive and caring. The price structure was clearly explained and includes a rent and a care fee. The care fees can vary based on the actual needs of the resident but there are known ranges so that there should not be any surprise increases for care One impressive thing underway is that this Brookdale facility is opening a second memory care unit for those with more advanced stages of dementia. I think this will be very helpful as it will mean that those in the current unit will be more actively involved in the activities with the other residents and have that engagement is in important to the residents.

I was very pleased with Brookdale Orland Park. It would have been our second choice for my friend. They didn’t have extra help for dementia patients, but I liked it very much. I liked the people, the way it was laid out, and even the rooms, but they just didn’t offer what the other facility had for dementia patients.

I know Brookdale because my mother-in-law used to stay there when we'd go on vacations. I always brought her there because it’s a very nice home. They’re very caring and took good care of her while we were gone. I think she was there when they had some religious services, if I’m not mistaken, though she wasn’t there for probably longer than 16 days. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I know that they would bring her up yogurt and snacks, and I was never charged extra for that. They were just very nice and very concerned about her comfort and well-being, and made us feel very good while we were away; we didn’t have to worry about things.

Brookdale is beautiful and in a great location with nice rooms. However, you have to bring your own furniture. The staff is very courteous. I saw the residents in wheelchairs dancing to the music and holding weights. They really enjoyed that activity. The security and maintenance was very good. I recommend it only to those with mild to moderate stage of Alzheimer’s.

Brookdale is beautiful and nice. However, they were too expensive, and charge for everything. They have exercise in place. I talked to people who lived there. The residents were not taken care of properly, and when they were calling for assistance, they weren’t getting it.

I was very impressed with Brookdale Orland Park’s memory-care area. It looks like it would be an excellent fit for my mom. It looks like they have a lot of staff, and I talked to the person that’s in charge of the staff. It was very clean and very nicely decorated when I was there. The rooms are small.

We visited Brookdale Orland Park, and we really liked it. I knew about it because I was from Orland Park. I liked that it was very bright, cheerful, and open, and they would greet you at the door. It was a very good experience. The staff was very nice. They took us on a tour, and we had lunch there with my mom. I thought the food was OK. We dealt with Allan Trueblood over there, and he was wonderful. He tried to make the accommodations we would need to place my mom there. The rooms were very nice. They were private rooms. When you went off the elevator on the first floor, it was close to the dining hall, which was nice. We liked that they had memory care, and we needed that. They had lots of activities, and they do different things. I thought they do a little get up and go kind of little trips. For us, it was a very close proximity to the rest of my siblings so we could visit mom very often.

My mom will be moving into Brookdale Orland Park. Basically, she will have a room with a tiny refrigerator, and she could have a microwave in there and an automatic shut off coffee pot. I was impressed by the level of care for my mom. They are stating that they would be able to handle my mom. After they assessed her, they said, "We will be able to handle her. We have a higher level of care than a lot of the assisted living." That is why I am going with them. There was an arts and crafts room; it was small. Their activity room was right next to the dining room, so I think they hold a lot of their things right there. It is not a real big community.

Brookdale Orland Park looked beautiful. I talked with somebody just moments before I arrived. They had my name typed out and a little welcome thing, which was really nice. The facility itself was nice, and they had different activities for their residents.

I went to Brookdale Orland Park. It was very nice. It was like they have a very small section for memory care. In all these places I went to, I was looking for memory care and I was not looking for assisted living. The memory care was in one little hallway, and that is all you can walk. The staff was very nice. They were trying to bend over backwards because they wanted me, and they had an opening. The rooms were all basically the same which is a bedroom and a bathroom. The one thing that I really liked is they showed everybody at lunchtime two different meals. You could pick which one you wanted. This is visual. Most of these people at memory care can't think about it. So when you show it to them, they can look and say if they like that because of the way it looks, so I thought it was very good. That was an A plus that they have two different entrées, brought it out, showed it to them, and asked them which one that they like. I didn't see any activities when I was there. They gave me a calendar, but it could be full of baloney. How do you know they are doing all of that unless you are there all day. You also have to buzz in and buzz out, so it was highly secure.

Emeritus is nice and has a homey feeling. The staff is really nice. The location is good and near shopping areas. The people are all friendly, but it is not what we were looking for.

I have a dad in Emeritus. I chose it because it is near the people he knows. I am happy with it. I have no complaints with their work. The rooms are adequate. The dining area is like a restaurant. They have several organized activities, like Wii bowling, bingo, exercise, and arts and crafts.

Mom is at Emeritus at Orland Park. I chose it because they told me that they offer more care and also because there were attendants that they can call for help. They also provide different levels of care so that's another reason why I chose this facility. I think that the staff as well as the nursing staff are very good, but I can see that they are understaffed so far. Their rooms as well as their dining room are nice. My mom really likes the food and she thinks it's good. They had lots of activities for the residents. Mom likes pretty nails and they do her fingernails on Saturdays.

Emeritus at Orland was lovely. The appearance was alright. It was extremely clean and very modern. Someone there paid a lot of attention for details. It had a homey atmosphere. Even when you drive up to it, it looked as if you're going to a hotel for a retreat instead of a nursing home or assisted living. It was very nice. It was not overbearing in terms of the number of people. I like the outside where the residents can go and sit during spring and summer. It was beautiful. The rooms were very nice. It was basically up to the individual to create the type of environment that he wanted in the room. I like the door decorations they had. Some of the residents had beautiful door decorations that you would have on a door of a private home. The staff was very nice. We spoke with someone there and she was absolutely wonderful until we told her how much money we had and my brother's age, and at that point, it was null and void.

After I visited Emeritus at Orland Park, I felt that it was well maintained and clean. The staff seemed very interested in taking care of the resident. My wife has been there since November 9. She's in a private room with a toilet and no shower. The room is adequate for her. The dining room is pleasant enough and she seems to like the food. I really don’t have any complaints as I can see that they are taking good care of her. She seemed a little more adjusted to the place. They say they have a lot of activities and I know they have for the assisted living area, but I have not seen any on the memory care unit.

This place is very understaffed and the staff in the memory care unit has not been well trained at all. My mother was in this facility for 4 months and I took her out after issues with mismanaged medication caused multiple falls. My mother ended up with 2 broken ribs because she was left unattended after given a sleeping pill at 6:30 in the evening! There is no nurse on staff after 8pm, so she could not even get so much as a Tylenol for her pain at night. They cannot handle anyone who has moderate to advanced dementia! I felt my mother was left alone and neglected most of the time. Horrible facility! Stay away!

My mom is in Emeritus at Orland Park. It is exactly what she wanted. She went in there and fell in love with it. The staff members are amazing. They're very concerned about their residents. They try to get them involved. They're just awesome! My mom is doing absolutely amazing there.

My cousin liked Emeritus because it was like a home. It was a nice and clean facility. He enjoyed talking to the residents and doing what they did. I saw the people playing Wii. They seemed nice and the staff was accommodating. However, if they had told me when I first went there, I could have made a down payment that could have helped because I could have done it and had the room they showed us because that's the one we liked. But then, they moved us to a different one because some else took it. My cousin was supposed to move in on August 27, but he ended up in the hospital due to pneumonia. However, I held the room because we thought everything was going to work out. He was then supposed to move there on October 1st, but he passed away at 6:30 in the morning.

I went to visit Emeritus at Orland Park when I looked for a facility for my dad. It was clean, livable and very homey. It seemed more like a hotel room than a hospital room. The staff were very informative, kind and they took their time to show me around. They also answered all my questions. They said they had a calendar with the list of the different activities that went on, but I was not able to see any of the activities during my visit.

I expected this place to be depressing based on the stereotypes of assisted living facilities I have heard in the past. It turned out to be pretty nice. It is very clean with no bad lingering smells. The staff was friendly and helpful. My great aunt seemed pretty happy and content. She is generally amiable but will speak her mind when things upset her, however she didn't have much bad to say about her situation. It is near the mall and many restaurants so residents have access to a lot. The interior decor is nice. The landscaping seemed nice and well kept. Many rooms have large porches. I did not witness any poor care or abuse by staff. The other residents generally seemed content for the most part. I don't feel bad that a family member of mine has to stay in such a place. It is nice that she can be comfortable and safe and can go do whatever she wants whenever she likes.

I visited a friends mother here on several occasions and the standard of care that she received was wonderful. She lived to be 102 and was very active up until the last week of her life. There were many activities available and the residents all seemed to be quite content. My friend would visit at all different times of the day and never saw any signs of any mis treatment or neglect. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and knowledgable. If I ever have to chose a facility this would be my choice
