My mom moved to The Oaks Manor. They are all very kind and they treat everybody like family. The food is great there, it's geared for older people. It's light, it's not heavy, it's homemade. They're just very caring people. They do have people that come in and play the piano, and they do have bingo. They do have other people that come in and do music and things like that. They do have a church service. They have puzzles and books. They have movie nights and popcorn and different things like that.

I stayed at The Oaks Manor for 10 days in respite care. I toured it and I put down $500 that very day because I loved it. We had lunch over there. They were all very nice, and they didn't want me to leave. The food was wonderful over there. I gained weight and I ate good. They had wonderful cooks. They had homemade desserts. It was so good, but I didn't have the full meal because I just stayed for respite there. My room was very nice. It had a nice bathroom off the bedroom door. It had a microwave, a sink and a bathroom. It had all the amenities. I did everything there, and I played cards every afternoon. We had a storyteller come in and she sang the book. It's the best. I liked it from the minute I called the staff on the phone. She sounded so nice, and when I got there, I loved it, and I was very happy. I did exercises every day and some of the ladies were going with me. I sat out with them at least an hour outside in the morning and in the afternoon to evening. There were about four of us out there. A lot of the residents stayed in their rooms. They range anywhere from 87 to 98 in there. There's one man there who's 74, and he was the youngest there. It's like a home away from home.
