My mother had lived independently on the grounds of a nursing home for 13 years. Recently that facility was sold, things began to go down hill, and we no longer felt it was a safe environment for her. The timing for a change was bad, Covid-19 was becoming a thing and stay-at-home orders were being issued. In the midst of this Karen at Mercy Creek reached out to us to follow up on an inquiry we had made months earlier. We felt that was a sign. Karen worked closely with us and we were able to move my mom in on June 18 while observing proper screening of moving men and family members. We cannot say enough how helpful the entire staff has been during this process.

My mother will be moving into Village at Mercy Creek. It's beautiful, and the staff is wonderful. The dining room and the menus are fantastic. There's a beauty parlor and a beautiful courtyard. It's just well kept and clean. It's a little smaller atmosphere than the other ones I toured, which fits well for my mother. My mother made the final decision, but I think the Franciscan affiliation was a big part of it. My mother's Catholic, so that might have had something to do with it, but I think the smaller atmosphere was very appealing to her and us. The other facilities I looked at were larger. It's wonderful. The staff is very educated in geriatrics; that is their field.

We visited the Village at Mercy Creek twice. The first time around we had someone very, very knowledgeable, and it was a very close second to what we selected. However, my mother still smokes, and there was no way that she could smoke anywhere on the grounds there, and that's what took them out of the running. The second time we were there, the person that showed us around really couldn't answer the questions that we were giving her, so that would be the only one negative that I could say about that, that they sent somebody around to do a tour that couldn't answer the questions. They had a movie theater, they had a pool table, they had a variety of activities. It looks like a great place to have your loved one. They were very clean and very comfortable.

The Mercy Creek facility is well built and well designed. Courtyard in the center is very beautiful. My mom enjoys sitting by the stream in the sun on nice days. My Dad enjoys walking outside among the blue spruce trees with hardly any traffic around. They both say only great things about their delicious meals. Most importantly, the staff is very kind and patient. We are very happy with Mercy Creek.

My mother has been in the Meadows at Mercy Creek. Most of the time, it's been quite neat for me, the food and everything is quite good, but Mom would be hard to please anywhere. She has a pretty good size room for one individual, and the whole facility was almost brand-new when she moved in. It was a bit oversized compared to the others, but they also have 2-bedrooms for couples. They have an activity director, they have things going on in the activities room quite often like movies and concerts. They have a bus to take them to different locations for meals out, ball games, and whatever. They have a salon, a library, and a gift store.
