Snyder Village is a CCRC, so it's independent living, memory care, assisted living, and a nursing home. My parents lived there for 20 years and they got very good care in every facility they've been in. The place is well taken care of, and the maintenance is good. They had many social activities over the years like potlucks and all kinds of social get-togethers. They're very popular so I think they probably have a waiting list although they probably have some independent living cottages open right now.

This is the best kept secret in the Metamora/Peoria area! My brother Ken, a cancer survivor, now requires a rollator/walker to navigate indoors & out. He had used Snyder Village's Home care (which is wonderful) for several months and moved into a cottage at Snyder Village in January 2020. Emptying his home and the move was so smooth. Snyder Village has a mover they work with and they subsidized the cost of the move. Snyder refurbished the cottage prior to the move and their maintenance department made any adjustments needed for his handicapped needs immediately, that day. Ken loves the home cooked type food with lots of variety. He can eat at the Bistro and order from a menu or have meals delivered to his cottage, which was handy over the winter. Ken has found it so easy to give up his home of 52 years -- because he feels safe at Snyder Village. With pull cords available to get help and phone messaging he is in contact with staff almost daily. And he gets quick response. There are daily activities and entertainment available if he chooses to participate. But most days, he is just content to have his private life in the cottage. The attached garage is a plus. Ken says it is the best move he ever made. And his brother and I who live up to 3 hours away are so relieved. We know he is happy and in a safe and caring place.

We live in a cottage for the past 3 and a half years. It is the best decision we ever made to move while we were still able to make our own decisions. Snyder helped us with our move and because our house sold so fast it was unbelieveably chaotic! They gave us the name of an organizer and she was with us all the way thru even to having blue prints on the walls of our cottage showing the movers where to put our furniture. She helped us thru what could have been a really confusing time. I can't say enough good things about my home and the town has everything I need even band concerts in a historical square. Thank you Snyder for making our life so comfortable!

My dad moved into Snyder Village. Its wonderful, very friendly, and everybody is very welcoming to him. The staff is great. I wish I could live there. He has a duplex, its wonderful, everything is all clean, new, and easily accessible. The staff in the dining room was very welcoming, helped him figure out what he wanted to eat, and showed him how to do everything. They really took time to work with him. I had lunch there yesterday, the food was wonderful, they had card games, trips , and they have their own little bus. They have potlucks and a lot of things for the residents.

For a small town I was surprized it wasn't more decorated and more staff . To add a extra person or two can make such a great difference in the quality of people's care. It easy to see that older people are lonely and you might be the only person they see all day. Why can't u see that? Is the money in your pockets more imp? The meals and choices are pretty awesome . The more color the better it is. I would recommend a soft serve ice cream machine also. That would love it . Get them up and moving! Xmas was great time there. All the carrolers acouple times a day , decoration nice. Keep up the good work! Diane Osorio

Snyder Village was the only place we looked at. My impression of the place was that it was really on the cold side especially the dining room area. It wasn't warm at all. We saw some people there and they were just playing cards. It just left us little on the cold side.

In general I thought that the facility was well run, professional, and organized. However, as is the case in most health care environments, the facility seemed to be understaffed in which case optimal care was not possible. I thought that the staff members were cheerful and appeared genuinely concerned for the residents' well being. There were some employees who seemed ill-suited to work in such a stressful environment and their attitude and ability was compromised by their unpreparedness for such an environment. The facility did seem properly equipped to accommodate its residents and their visitors. Some of the gathering areas became quite crowded and noisy, but the small size of the facility meant that many activities included a large majority of the residents. The facility suited my family's needs well. The only limitation would be the small size and rural environment of the facility. I would recommend this living community for those interested in an assisted living option.
